Not true, you need to sing somewhat decent enough for pitch correction to take place otherwise notes will sound robotic and artificial, then after that process is done you then add an autotune plugin for polishing but not too much or that too will make it sound robotic.

Hey now, let's be a little more fair and understanding. That was a group of recovering teens and adults fighting addiction. They formed a choir open to ANYONE even if you can't sing, because they believe in the transformative power of music. So they are by no means a professional group and they still did WAY BETTER than this girl.
She claimed to be really intoxicated but the fans commented on several pages stating that she walked on and off of the field just fine. She wasn't drunk. She simply needed something to blame it on - "I was so out of tune because I was wasted."
Who is more to blame her for not being able to actually sing or the person running the sound and having her autotune in the wrong key? This girl was done from the get-go starting the national anthem in the wrong key. Her face is expressing the disaster she is in, in the middle of a packed stadium with autotune in the wrong key from the start, the delay across the stadium and in front of a hostile crowd.
