This debut album showed the world what Led Zeppelin meant - and means - to the rock & roll world. I think you'll find a steady growth & progression as you get through their entire catalog. Blues masters, acoustic blues masters, epic prog masters ... they could do it all. Each member was a virtuoso in his own right - and you can hear that through the years...enjoy!

Communication Breakdown was pure punk 5 years before punk was a thing. Johnny Ramone, of The Ramones, perfected his down-stroke playing this song.

Communication Breakdown is definitely proto-punk; it's fast and filthy. I Can't Quit You Baby is filthy in a different way. The bass...the drums...the guitar speaking clear as day all create layers that are aggressively slow yet carry a hint of dark seduction. The emotion in their songs cannot be denied.

When you finish album 2, and if you want to enjoy watching them perform live, I recommend their 1970 Royal Albert Hall concert. Near in time to when they dropped albums 1 and 2, so an early look at them, and that concert was fabulous from start to finish. No glitz and glitter, just a great performance. You'll also hear a couple of songs that aren't on any of their 8 albums, so that's also a treat. Would be great to get your reaction to that. Thanks, enjoyed your reaction.

I was a freshman in high school when this album came out. You can imagine how it affected us back then! Part of the reason you're doing the stink-face so often is the drumming of John Bonham. The man played with unprecedented POWER, and he drove that band like a juggernaut. All four of those guys had amazing qualities, but without Bonzo, Led Zeppelin would not have been as great as they were.
As always, I'm going to remind you that the music of King Crimson awaits you.

Glad you dig the Zepp... back in the day when radio played "I can't quit you babe"... they played that song and straight into "How many more times" as if one continual song... that's how the album presented them with really no space between them like other songs. It's great to see a younger generation getting a crave for real music👍 the late 60's and 70's are just FILLED with nothing but fantastic sounds from MANY MANY bands..I will say that not every band is pure gold from start to finish of their career. But alot of bands have a lot of cool music.... Rolling Stones "Can ya hear me knocking", "Midnight Rambler", "Monkey Man".

I can't Quit You Babe was ZEPPELIN'S Take on an ABSOLUTE BLUES CLASSIC!! Howlin Wolf made this Famous, But it was The Legend, Robert Johnson Who Wrote this. And Based on that The Great Jimmy Page Took Shade when he Recorded his Part For this Song! " Taking Shade" is When a Young Blues Guitarist Plays an Older Blue's man's Song, he Drops a Guitar Cord, or Two as a Show of Respect! Another Reason other Artists Hated Zeppelin so much! They were Getting the Respect from The Surviving Blues Legends of the Day. Again, I have so Much more about this. Message me on Instagram some time. Great Double Reaction Man! Till Next Time, Peace, & Love✌️

not tryna start shit but for as long as ive know (after hearing Led Zeppelin of course) the song was written by Willie Dixon and it was first recorded by Otis Rush in 1965. Willie Dixon recorded his version in 1966 and Led Zeppelin came out with their version in 1969. i tried to look up both Robert Johnson and Howlin Wolf but nothing came up under "i cant quit you baby" Again, besides Zeppelin ive always known it as a Willie/Otis song. i did come across "Killin Floor" by Howlin Wolf and the song starts off with "i should have quit you a long time ago" but that was it.

This is why you guys invented the word Lit! Rock and Roll is another badass song on this album. One of their most famous songs. You told me a while back to bring on the recommendations, but like almost every other reactor, you are afraid to pull the trigger because you’ve never heard the song and zero trust me. I keep explaining my legitimacy and experience, but that again is something you youngsters don’t trust me on. Here it is again, it’s a Guarantee man. Super high power, well known jam from one of the best bands you know 0 about. That’s where I come in. This is at their peak of their 50 year career, ok? It’s a powerhouse badass jam. You STILL won’t do it! JUDAS PREIST: Riding On The Wind! Studio version only please. Go loud and trust me. You will be blown away guaranteed on my word as a Rock Old Schooler. Saw them live 18 times over the years.
By the way, this first ZEPPELIN album is my favorite record and they are my favorite band. I KNOW THIS STUFF!
It’s their bluesiest record and THE epitome of Rock and Roll, but what do I know?

Hey Zay, the progression of growth from album 1 through the last one is mind blowing. I can remember those exact feelings as a teenager at LSU in 1977 when LZ performed on campus at the Assembly Center and I was 5th row back, front and center stage! I was truly blessed to have witnessed legends being made and music history being forged! When you get a chance, watch the reunion concert from 2007 called "Celebration Day"! It is two hours non-stop of their top hits and will leave you exhausted!! As usual, great reaction my friend!! 👍

Approx todays odds since 1968 =
1 : 9 billion chance a group of individuals will form to create such powerful music.
Haters will say they copied a lot of it, but does it FUCK sound like the original. They took parts of it (bullets worth) and turned it in to an ATOM BOMB 💣!!

I agree with everyone else. Led Zeppelin is best served up LIVE. Three performances that illustrate the beginning, the end, and the reunion of Zepplin are Royal Albert Hall 1970, Knebworth 1979, and the O2 Arena reunion in 2007, with John Bonham's son, Jason on the drums. All 3 are truly AMAZING performances. Fyi....they had 20 million requests for 18,000 tickets for the reunion.

Watch the video “Led Zeppelin Dazed And Confused live in London 1969”. It was filmed in television studio with a small audience in March, 1969, and the first album had just come out in January 1969. They played so loudly that you can hear the sound system being overwhelmed. Seeing Jimmy Page using a violin bow on a Fender Telecaster must’ve been quite a shock for those watching.

    • @joemauntel9381
      @joemauntel9381 2 года назад

@@Mike-rk8px I've seen that. Thats also excellent. Heck...How the West Was Won is one of the most intense live Zeppelin audio tapes there is!!! That famous L.A. Forum show from 1975. Its sick good. There are tons of good bootlegs on RUclips....just not too much video stuff. But yeah....that black and white video from the T.V. studio was.....so raw and good.

I think I was hearing this stuff in junior high school and it was already afterwards but it was still on the radio all the time I think that it was being released about 5 years before that for me but that's not long right? That first album, everything on it is fire. It's just fucking amazing in one way or the other. But then I can say that about pretty much all of their albums. Right up through bonzo's death.

Once again live is the best! Listen to communication breakdown live at Paris 1969,or at the Royal Albert Hall, they are making a kind of Funky part after the guitar solo, just too much good! And, you will get a longer version, as always, they were improvising, so much on stage, that's why it's the better band ever! ✌️The same for you shook me, and all the other songs!

Hey Zay! Finally getting to the video (long night I've had). Communication Breakdown is such a rocking tune. Also, I keep wanting to mention this in the live, but keep forgetting. Do you know there's a typo in your description in every video? It says to "subrcribe," instead of "subscribe." Just wanted you to know! Hope you're doing well, and I look forward to the time when you have a reaction video to Animals as Leaders (the band who did the song Soraya I asked for in tonight's live). Peace and love to all!
EDIT, since I forgot to say something on the 26th: Rest in Peace to Karac Plant, Robert's son, who died 26 July 1977, aged 5. It's strange to me to think of the fleetingness of life, as Karac was born just a couple of months after my mom. I say it's strange because in the mind of the parent who lost the child, that day is always and forever fresh, and in the grand scheme of things, a great deal of things have come and gone since his unfortunate passing. To anyone who's ever lost someone, you forever have my condolences and I try to carry the remembrances of those we've lost everywhere I go, because ultimately, when you forget where you came from, you forget who you are.
