Feet First - Transporting a Casket

Why we carry a casket feet first because of a very long standing tradition. The only two times we carry head first - 1. Chaplain into and out of a chapel (symbolizing his leading his flock) and, 2. An impediment at the grave site making head-first travel better suited for that particular situation.
