    everything dude says is true :) srx800 series is so good jbl is keeping the line along w/ the srx900's ( which are a big dud is u ask this sound person..... compare the srx928 vs the srx 828p....enough said)......... i have owned everyone of these except the 812..... pre-set #4 is SRX Top/ SRX Sub...... how simple is that..... the tops n subs are matched perfect...... i use my set for a rock band w/ loud kick drums.... for the first time ever i can now set the kick to be the loudest part of our mix...... wow, usually once the guitar player starts playing the kick drum disappears..... not anymore...... if u can afford a PA, get a new set of srx 800 series.... 5 year warranty too...... u will not regret it..... and if u are into jerry garcia band, ooh la la, u gonna love these

      +jose perez (big joe) I a/b the SRX 835p with the QSC 153. The QSCs won in sound quality across all ranges. The SRX was muddy. They were a bit louder but the QSCs are PLENTY loud so my advice is save your money, The JBL build quality in the past few years has been so poor that seeing mine opened up when I had issues and the CHEAP parts inside, I mean crap, I got rid of them and got the QSCs. Never looked back. I did however want to test this new offering and it was really NOTHING special. They are good, no doubt but QSC still wins hands down. Clarity, at high volumes, better Mids and great bass punch. SRX seemed loud and muddy. QSC were extremely close in output and the quality easily makes them a better buy. imo

    Are these even on the same league as EV ETX? Or more on the RCF Art7, EV ZXA5... what about subs? Contender for the Yorkville LS801PB? How does it compare toe current JBL VRX series?

    • @abielpangga6314
      @abielpangga6314 5 лет назад +3

      These are probably the same as etx maybe a bit higher because of the touring grade application we can get through these.
      Jbl vrx might be the bigger brother to these speakers tho

    Usually for speakers the yellow light is for limiting and the red light is for clipping of the speaker. But for the srx 815 or 835 how do i get that information ?

    I have EV ETX 12P I use them as a solo singer, New Years Eve they let me down I run them on 12 o'clock position ODB with DYNACORD 1000 mixer, they clipped and sound went down? £2,000 for pair of speakers and their unreliable I'm now looking to trade these in, for something different, I have always used EV, my last Speakers was 15 ZX5 unpowered, I used Crown amp to run these, was brilliant sound never failed me, any ideas as my ear is used to Ev & as been for past 12 years, Help ??

    • @nilic37
      @nilic37 6 лет назад +2

      SRX is a grade above and honestly if you can afford it, get the SRX series. Sound quality and how loud they go is unrivaled for their price point!

      Don Rice That is not accurate. Both lines offer passive and active models. The other comment is correct, the SRX series is worth it if you can afford it.

    Im here in 2020 and all i can say is that the amplifier modules are weak.... NEED TO USE a crown amp module with bigger balls Jbl!... If you want to compete with qsc.... On the other hand the passive series of the srx is great. Pair the subs with a macrotech or itech 12000i and a Dbx driverack venue 360 and you will be impressed.... Well sadly the harman group was bought by samsung yeah the dish washer company. As i speak its sad to say this but.. Jbl is getting there ass kicked by qsc Right now... Its not that im a qsc fan.. Im a jbl fan... But what im saying is true.. Crown amps are starting to get a reputation of failing. The only reliable modules now are probably the xti 6002 and up..

    • @djhlsmusic
      @djhlsmusic 10 лет назад +2

      Exactly my thoughts. If they're equal to, or even just slightly better, I'll drop my ETX gear just for the sake of having the networkability of these boxes. Not to mention they actually offer a dual 18" cab in the line. Wtf EV!

    • @jorgeardon2040
      @jorgeardon2040 9 лет назад

      Bro I sound test these srx and let me tell u that ETX I just better!!!!

    • @djhlsmusic
      @djhlsmusic 9 лет назад

      Jorge Ardon But how much better? My ETX gear has proven to be unreliable, so if this line is almost as good but also actually reliable, then this line would be preferable.

    • @jorgeardon2040
      @jorgeardon2040 9 лет назад +2

      I tell u at the beginning I purchase the etx 15p and I sell them for $500 each and sell the etx 18sp for $1000 that's because I feel I don't make the right decision! So I went for the 3 way speakers that mean I sound test the QSC kw153 - ETX 35p - jbl 835p I put all three side by side and the sound I heard from these speakers the most nicest loudest bass respnd and better sound for my ears was from the etx 35p then I buy yorkvilles ls801p and when I put it together I realize that Now I have the best of the best!!! Bro this is really my experience!!

    Dont buy the Eon612. They advertises 1000 watts, but from someone who has playec live ovef 25 years...therd is no way these get even closd to 1000 watts. Its more likd 4-500 watts at best. Ears do not lie.

    • @willymccabe6602
      @willymccabe6602 7 лет назад

      Will Beatyou I stay away from Eon model stuff, too. Buget line junk if you ask me. Shouldn't even have JBL on the speaker

    • @djlobb
      @djlobb 6 лет назад

      The EON 612/615 isn't as loud as the previous model because they use a waveguide and baffle to control reflections. They're rated at 126db, which isn't terrible but still. Their main focus wasn't LOUD, it was sound quality, and in that area I think they sound pretty decent and detailed. Also they're 1000w peak, 500w RMS. Finally, they aren't very sensitive on the inputs, you need to run your mixer pretty hot.

    • @donrice2609
      @donrice2609 5 лет назад

      They are 1000 peak..which works out to about 250 watts RMS..not very loud for outdoor stuff unless using for monitors

    • @handyfm
      @handyfm 5 лет назад

      Not a bad decision. The SRX is aimed at a higher user market. The PRX 15" sub would be suitable for your needs.

    • @almas7123
      @almas7123 5 лет назад

      We Boogie simple, for the 12” tops. No way would I get nor need 18” sub for a 12” top which is what I’m planning on getting. Ha ha? 🤦🏻‍♂️

    • @almas7123
      @almas7123 5 лет назад

      handyfm can’t agree with you on this one, and easy too. Look up EV etx which are at the srx level or competition, they offer the 15” sub . Can’t believe you buy into this “one size fits all” concept. 🤦🏻‍♂️
      EV thank you for this!!!

      John Zucco Hi what is the sound like on them ? Are they nice & warm I've always used EV see so my ears are used to EV
      Would you say the Prx 12w are as good as the EV ETX for solo work

    • @jjzuc
      @jjzuc 8 лет назад +1

      Better! They are extremely warm sounding and the bass doesn't get lost coming out of the back of the speaker. Plus they are so loud and Powerful it's ridiculous

    • @neilcox1911
      @neilcox1911 8 лет назад

      John Zucco thank you mate I really appreciate your kind feedback, like I said I've been using EV ETX 12p since late November 2016 & their clipping in my 2nd half of my gig, I'm not in a band just a soloist, so do you use yours in a band or Dj or solo work like myself ?

    • @jjzuc
      @jjzuc 8 лет назад +1

      I use them mostly for DJ work which can get pretty loud and they never clip. I've only had them for a little over a month so I haven't had a chance to use them with my Duo yet. but that doesn't get anywhere near as loud as the DJ stuff

    • @neilcox1911
      @neilcox1911 8 лет назад +1

      John Zucco When you use them with your duo work what's the handling of the highs like for singing? I have a Tenor voice so my voice is high, just be interesting to know they handle the highs well ? As I've used Ev for years, i contacted a Dealer in U.K. Yesterday to try and locate a local dealer so I can get to hear these & is 1,500 Watt loud enough ? Thanks for your help
