Next time there's always McArthur Glen Outlet mall, which is in the airport area. Bibo Pizzeria is there and is authentic Italian and seriously good. The Skytrain is also free between the Airport and Templeton station and back, which is the stop for McArthur Glen.
I feel ya on the commuter life. This summer has been especially brutal to us. Hence why I decided on the apartment in Chicago. If I have plenty of days off, I fly home to the bf, if I have 3 or less I stay in Chicago. Congrats on TPA!!

To be honest I did not like commuting. In the winter I had flights cancel. And I also cut my time at home a day short in case of flight issues. Glad you got your new base!

HI!! So glad you took time- to just decompress! Next time in Vancouver if you have a longer layover and want to adventure the Capilano Suspension Bridge is amazing! A few years back they use to offer crew members (showing badge) compliment%%ary admission, but I believe that has changed but they still give discount 15 or 20% off and they do offer free shuttle bus back/and forth to the bridge from Downtown so thats a quick rail ride....actually I remember now :) we took hotel shuttle bus back to airport (for free LOL) and then did direct rail airport to downtown *few dollars and then caught free bus to the bridge!!! Fly safe always!
Vancouver is a great city. U need to get a layover long enough to see Stanley Park and experience their great Chinese cuisine. With regards to the hurricane that was in the Pacific off the coast of Mexico, it arrived in San Diego as a tropical storm and depending on location the San Diego area got 2-4 inches of rain. Unusual for us as this is not our rainy season. Lots of trees down, power outages in various areas but those issues are resolved. The Palm Springs area got 3 inches of rain which turned that area into a mud mess. We are returning to our sunny and beautiful weather slowly. 😎

I always take a photo with my phone of my parking space number. I’d never remember otherwise, since I rarely am able to park in the same area every time (the garages are always so full!). I want a car like yours when I buy another one! I love the interior!
Vancouver is not as it was before, don't venture out at dark especially on transit . The maple 🍁 syrup was about $9 a few years ago so with inflation 🤪 that was a good deal, it's very expensive outside at Sobeys Grocery Chain. Love the hotel .

Vancouver resident here. We're not really known for poutine here as it is more of a Quebec thing. As a Vancouverite, we tend to only eat poutine when travelling to Montreal or Quebec City. In Vancouver, the local go to food is authentic Asian cuisine as over 40% of the population is of Asian descent. Since you were staying at the airport, you could have taken the Canada Line to nearby Richmond for some Asian cuisine.

Congrats on getting TPA 🎉 what’s your routes out of TPA? I’m SEA base and we mostly fly to Asia routes so we pack small bags too. 😊
We have a ton of flying out of TPA right now!! We start each day to a main hub and then branch out from there!

I live in YVR. It is awesome. I’m shocked at where you stay….I know the hotel and absolutely love it. It’s pricey. Next time, if you have longer take the Canada line from the airport to Waterfront. It’s really easy and downtown is lovely. I just resigned from flying for a huge British airline and miss flying so much but love being home.
the airline pays a very low negotiated fee for crew rooms. Thats industry standard, always has been.
