Ajax asked for 80 million for him, a few weeks later we offered that and they refused, they were shifting the goal posts and he felt like his dream move was being blocked even though there was an amazing offer on the table. Loss of confidence plus they play almost completely different. Man U can't control the ball the same way for him to be able to play short like in Ajax and have a full back ready to provide his width. United is always on the counter, always needing to make fast runs and play longer balls. If he doesn't have a short pass available, he will hold up for the team to get forward, which kills the counter. When they do get forward, they are bad at passing fast and short, and making themselves available. There is no place for him in a counter attacking team. A lot more signings have to happen for him to make sense. Not 2 or 3. More like 8.

Maar ik denk dat we daarbij ook rekening moeten houden dat deze jongen in opgegroeid in de favela en gewoon heel anders denkt dan wij. "met alle respect" maar Excelsior, Cambuur, NEC, Emmen, Volendam, RKC, Go Ahead Eagles, Fortuna Sittard zijn niet clubs waar je jaar in jaar uit tegen wilt spelen. Onze beste spelers worden altijd verkocht en dan is het weer op 0 beginnen.
