A lengthy investigation into alleged Italian mobster Jimmy DeMaria is at risk of falling apart. The Canadian government’s case to deport DeMaria hinges on recordings obtained from wiretaps conducted by Italian police, saying the recordings prove he associates with the mafia, but DeMaria’s lawyer argues they were illegally obtained.
