BTW...Bjork is not back..she didn't go anywhere...she has always been here and always will be.That is the nature of the life-form we lovingly know as Bjork
Oh and I should say that I think Björk is brilliant. Somehow whenever I listen to her music, her voice always seems to remind me that the voice was the first instrument. As incredibly developed and sophisticated as her voice is, she just retains such a primal and expressive element in her delivery that's impossible to miss.
O NO! My favorite singer in the whole entire World almost lost her voice!!! How do you get a throat nodule? Poor Bjork! We Love U Bjork! Congrats on Biophilia. I'm going to buy your album.
It happens even when it's the same language. I was born in in the U.S. but my parents moved to the U.K. when I was 2 and we moved back to the U.S. when I was 15. I just naturally adopted a British accent, even though my parents spoke with an American accent. I was in HS and wanted to sound like everyone else so I learned to speak with an American accent, but anytime I go back to the UK or spend time around family or friends from the UK, I fall right back into the accent, without realising it.
I have everything this beautiful creative artist has put out. Biophillia is still growing on me it is a new experience because that is the delightful thing about bjork each of her albums are different enough in sound yet still have that wonderful bjork personality. If you think it lacks then you have yet to really understand it
Dearest Björk. You are one of the people I look up to the most and I am thrilled that this is happening. I think perhaps you have slowly been translating from music to what can be represented in images. That is sublime and I say it as a hopefully meaningful compliment which I hope you accept. Gratitudes back to Björk warmth and endless respect. Claudia from Italy
Comparing Gaga to Bjork is interesting. I do thing Gaga aspires to and achieves some originality. But Bjork is on a different level, and she has the gift of true genius. She isn't just trying to be original, she is also exploring life. Gaga tries a little too hard, maybe, but she is young. She's more like Madonna to me. More polished, less organic.
I think that as people, we should always be trying to reinvent ourselves. Otherwise we are not really living life, we are just doing things the way they have always been done. As an artist, it makes sense that she would do this because that is what being an artist is. Plus, if Bjork cared to dress or style herself in a way that everyone would like, then she wouldn't really be Bjork. And that's called being a poser.
Bjork is one of those rare artists who is fearless and committed about growth and exploration in her music..like Joni Mitchell who continues to go places unexpected and often far from commercial..and when you love these artists you go out here with them. She is a genius
Just because she looks different now, doesn't mean her voice has changed. and It still is about the music, she still loves music all the same. I think she has gained strength over the years of her not singing.. If anything. She still is quite beautiful, the music is still awesome, and her voice is still glorious.. I don't see anything wrong there..
Biophilia indeed sounds very organic like Björk herself said! Slightly different than before but just as good, creative and emotional, and I'm so glad that she got her voice back! ♥ It was so sad when her previous cig to Finland was cancelled. I've been a huge fan of hers for years, but have never had a chance to see her live! I hope my dream would finally come true ♥
A true artist.Amazing,innovative,full of talent,beautiful,genius.Since the day she started making music.From Tappi Tikarass,KUKl,The Sugarcubes,Elgar Sisters,her collaborations to her Solo work.Björk ♫♥
there's always something new and exciting and different with each record she puts out and this is where she completely gets my attention! she is truly a gem in the industry, an antidote to the current poisoned state of music!
Why must people criticize her? I think she is still a wonderful person.. She still has the beautiful voice too.. Yes she changed her hair, but does that matter? It doesn't matter how the artist looks, it is how the music makes you feel and the glorious voice she has..
Bjorks Biophilia project is the most creative thing to ever happen to music!! I love her so much!!! I wonder if this interview was in her house? She does say here in Iceland..
because she's moved back and forth between iceland and london over the years, but she's always had that icelandic twang in her voice when she's speaking and singing :)
I can't believe people are dogging her here! She writes beautiful, a little bit zany, but beautiful songs. I look at Björk's musical career and almost none of it stayed the same. That's good, most artists stick to one thing, Björk does it all and all are great. Plus, I like the orange hair!
Very very original and unique. Also love anything a bit dark and experimental from Tricky, Radiohead, Aphex Twin, Gray Numan, Massive Attack, Ghostpoet, Unkle, Portishead, AllFlaws
Wow. I used to have a big crush on a girl who wore a brown, plaid suit-style jacket like that all the time. She actually introduced me to Bjork's music. And that was about 15 years ago! How odd!
And it is important to listen to this album as its own and to not compare it to other releases, this is a new concept with different ideas creating it so it won't be post, the sequel or homogenic II .
That's no different than regional sub-dialects in America. When you move around and live in, say, California or New York City, then return to your rural area you slide right back into your regional accent. For those who haven't experienced this, I'm referring to the Pittsburgh to Altoona, PA rural accent. When your away from PA for years you lose a lot of that accent, but pick it right up when you return. My guess is it is the same across America.
@Besoaria I saw björk live in berlin in the Vespertine ära, i think 2005. Sound in that hall was very bad and out was a big storm that was hearing in the hall, but looking in her eyes is a magical moment. it gives you special emotions see her live. for a long time i said that Vespertine was a logical consequence from Homogenic ;-). i dont want say anything to the last two albums, because i need time...but Thunderbolt is another Björks "special thing"...hope you see björk soon as possible ;-))
A lot of people think this album lacks of the emotion of her past albums but is not as if the topics on Biophilia are not artistic, deep or important. I find it really poetic how nature and non living entities are analogous to the creative process, and also how life itself (replicating DNA (Hollow), protein synthesis (Virus), the living cell) is perfectly coordinated. So don't think you can talk about "personal things" without even knowing why you are alive. Bipohilia=Love for living systems ^^
@matatmat ummm... i would say similar bjork songs from this album are 'sacrifice' and 'mutual core'. they all similarly bust into some *heavy electronics after a slow build up. they seem to remind me of The Great Destroyer by Nine Inch Nails hope this helps, dubstep isn't really my forte and i can't seem to see the parallel between the genre and any of the songs
What is the last song called that plays in the background of this interview? 2:06 on when there's an orb around Bjork on that plant? Is it "Crystalline"?
it seems her accent really went back and forth over the years. earlier I think she used to live in Britain, so she acquired more of a British accent. but now I believe she lives in Iceland permanently
@AnnyNorn Oh you just don't understand her music. She's using something called Metaphors you know. She talks about herself just not in a direct-literal way.
@KingOfUm Really? That's interesting...I actually couldn't get it out of my head! I found the melody for "Virus" especially mesmerizing and memorable, especially her howling-like singing that repeats itself..."Crystalline" had an extremely prominent and memorable beat for me, and I remember being very intrigued by "Mutual Core" Some of the others were a little late bloomers for me, like "Moon" and "Dark Matter"and "Thunderbolt" but still very strange and memorable melodies.
what do you mean confusing? what do you think is happening to her? What do you think she is doing/pretending to do? I'm just curious, I just want to know.
BTW...Bjork is not back..she didn't go anywhere...she has always been here and always will be.That is the nature of the life-form we lovingly know as Bjork
i've always loved her voice. she could sing a grocery list and i'd be happy to hear it.
she's got guts. not afraid to take risks in her music.
Her accents much stronger again, she must have lived back in Iceland for a few years.
bassdoc when she lived in England she sounded verrryy English but she's back to her old Icelandic sounding self now
Oh and I should say that I think Björk is brilliant. Somehow whenever I listen to her music, her voice always seems to remind me that the voice was the first instrument. and crazier than ever
Acoolwind for you crazy. For me
....very normal.
The way she rolls her R's give me eargasms!
She's amazing. A truely unique artist!
the beats on this album are nuts. Love it!
i've never actually heard her talk, but omg, beautiful.

she looks fabulous. she IS fabulous.
I have never been lucky enough to see her live but I'm hoping that changes very soon!!!!!! xx
I always smile when I hear her talking :3

BEAUTIFUL HAIR INCOMPARABLE PERSON! BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND SHE IS EVERYTHING IN MY LIFE!
i always love watching this interview.
She is a true artist.
She only lived in London in the early-mid 90s, my guess is that she's been hanging back in Iceland for quite a while now
Bjork is AMAZING!!!

I love how she pronounces 'Asia' !
she looks like 90% of german football players looked like back in the 70ies.
Google the 1974 German soccer team 🤣

Bjork is one of the the most innovative and evolving artists out there, she always seems to reinvent herself with every album.

i love that her voice never change a lot
When she said reasons at the beginning, it sent shivers down my spine, the good kind
Even with the "IT" hairstyle you look lovely cute bjork!
I love how the video quality didn't age one bit from her early interview vids
She is pure art... Who cares her accent... Just love her great music
there's always something new and exciting and different with each record she puts out and this is where she completely gets my attention! she is truly a gem in the industry, an antidote to the current poisoned state of music!
Ohhhhhh the way she said reasons was worth hearing twice
the song is called crystalline
verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry cool
Absolutely agreed
Why must people criticize her? I think she is still a wonderful person.. She still has the beautiful voice too.. Yes she changed her hair, but does that matter? It doesn't matter how the artist looks, it is how the music makes you feel and the glorious voice she has..

She's really beautiful with this hair color ^^
Luvly

@matatmat
the lyrics are:
"it's the sparkle you become"
i wondered the same thing myself.
it's from the song Crystalline.
Bring a dork, go see Bjork!
And it is important to listen to this album as its own and to not compare it to other releases, this is a new concept with different ideas creating it so it won't be post, the sequel or homogenic II .
I forgot,Thank you Björk for your beautiful Art! :)
She spent some time living in England and in NY but mainly has lived in Iceland.
LOVE her accent !
Carrot Top sounds a lot different now that he stopped taking steroids
Rest in peace my friend
I love here! new album is really great. oh also she's so pretty
I like how she pronounced Asia as "Ay-see-uh."

Her accent is awesome.... :P
Was this her crazy cat lady phase?
Jj
So random, so unique, her weird haircut :P I love Björk.
@PARICIDICtv thanks for the info, will check them out
when she was first famous was in the mid 90s... you understand that was like, a decade and a half ago? people change over time, surprisingly..
What a woman.
@Besoaria I saw björk live in berlin in the Vespertine ära, i think 2005. good for you grandpa.

@PARICIDICtv cheers, it sounds very experimental. do you know any songs which have the same 'dubstep' feel?
it seems her accent really went back and forth over the years. earlier I think she used to live in Britain, so she acquired more of a British accent. but now I believe she lives in Iceland permanently
@06051988 Not really weird. In the 90's she was living in London. Now she splits her time between Iceland and New York. So yeah.
@AnnyNorn Oh you just don't understand her music. She's using something called Metaphors you know. She talks about herself just not in a direct-literal way.
She's a prophet (A person regarded as an inspired teacher)
her accent is always changing
She's Draconic, actually.
i can't believe she nearly lost her voice!
@Zuppos123 she did amazing stuff
I Cant believe she is 46 right now
actually, she got internationally noticed in the late 80s with the sugarcubes.
I don't mind some of her music, but holy strawberry electro-frizz scare-hair.
Oh right i wasn't aware she had moved back, i kind of liked the Cockney twang
Whatever you do... if you ever meet her, don't ever start by saying "Welcome to... (enter your city name)". :)
I noticed this too. I think she moved back to Iceland...so she might not have been speaking English too much xxx
@HASHEAVEN only time on the whole album tho, its less than a minute
when björk says that she breaked the patterns, it means that the shit get serious.
@Zuppos123 oh really? i didn't know our group is that small. can you give me some evidence?
wow... she's wearing a suit! :O
what do you mean confusing? what do you think is happening to her? What do you think she is doing/pretending to do? I'm just curious, I just want to know.
Is the footage at the end a from a live performance?
Can someone tell me what the first video/song is?
Oh, it must be frabjous day.
what's the name of the song in the final part???
I think the biggest change is that her other albums are more emotional and this one's more rational
what's the last featured song in this extract?
WHATEVER!
We icelanders all do that.
obvious explanation: she lives in diff parts of the world and travekls world over Im sure london, iceland, ny etc.
