When I was in elementary school I met and became best friends with a Vietnamese girl and started going over to her house and was introduced to so much fantastic food! It really opened my eyes, mouth and stomach to how different culture’s food could bring people together regardless of your own background.
That's so cool ET Brenner! Producer Brittany here and I must say I totally agree on the fresh herb front. They make all the difference. I've started incorporating more into my own cooking and my taste buds are thanking me :)
Thanks so much for watching, Dennis X! These chefs are amazing (though as a producer on the show, I am completely biased ;) I am so grateful for their stories and wisdom in the kitchen. (And I hope you found some bahn khot! So delish! -Producer Brittany

I got introduced to bánh khot at the Tết festivals thrown by San Diego's Vietnamese community. The Vietnamese way with fresh herbs is just awesome ❤
