I do think we missed out massively by not signing a CB who is better than what we have. Wood & Edwards were sensible cheap business for the future but haven't improved our team. We conceded a lot of goals last year in the Championship and haven't upgraded CB position. Also ST. Archer is a good option in the squad but feel like we could have got a more top level ready player to start. Ramsdale an amazing signing though.

Last season was the same but because we had a budget in the top 25 of the world it meant we would always be amongst the favourites. But now we don’t and we need to have a clear plan. 2 touches. Out wide. Constant switching of ball and players rotating. Start Fernandes. Start Archer. Remove Jack. Play 4-3-3 and play expansive. You cannot pass if you have 8/9/10 players in our half every time we try to play out. We need players as high as possible, especially FBs with as few as possible CM dropping deep. Wingers do not come short. Always spin and get in behind. This creates space. It’s so simple and yet every single game half our team come into our half when building up and of course, so do the opposition! Fucking die on the hill already and get someone with an actual clue otherwise we are gone before Christmas.

be better if the defenders just boot the ball up field and let the build up passing game begin around the mid field area , we'll be picked off if we play out the back .. the prem clubs have world class players .. so it isn't working for them at this level

Have to stick with Russell Martin and the team. It's only been 3 games! We can definitely play out from the back with possession football we just have to adapt and work on it for the PL. If we improve on it it's possible, no point giving up on that now when this is the direction we want to build on for the club.
