Feb 2 2016, I was rescued from my vehicle by a friend and colleague. I spent 24 hours in an hyperbaric chamber and 7 weeks in a center for mental illness. I am not ashamed i do however to this feel awful for what it did to my family. I was diagnosed with PTSD. I eventually left that career and had to restart my entire life. It’s not easy but I happy. It’s not weakness to seek help, it’s courageous to admit you can’t do it alone.

As a guy with an anxiety disorder, and Bi polar, I fell for the "reach out" lie.... people treat me differently, my employer let me go in a polite way... but basically didn't want crazy in thier shop.... my mental health is still fragile, and I still struggle immensely daily.. but I have learned to keep it quiet, because(at least here in Canada) it's not something that is accepted and understood... it just labels me as broken...

As a person with the same disorders, I feel this deeply. I also lost a job, of 17 years, due to my situation. I wish I had the right things to say, but all I have for you is keep on trying to move forward, take care of you first and remember to not let your conditions define who you are. I've been disabled and unable to work for 5 years now, the struggle is real.

I'm so sorry you had to deal with being treated like that. I understand because my military career was definitely ended by my mental health issues. Not exactly in the same way, but it was the biggest factor. There will always be those who don't understand or just choose not to treat us humanely. But we will always overcome because we learn to be stronger - because we have to! If you ever need someone to listen, just know my DMs will always be open.

100%. Stress of keeping up is a major factor! I feel it often and have to step back for a few days at a time and take a breath!

I have lost too many partners due to mental health issues. I’m really glad things are becoming more open and available, and people like you are willing to talk about it in the open! Thank You !!

Thank you Doc for speaking on this. The reality of how many people suffer from mental illness is far more than most people can fathom. People like you, keep people like me, slugging along. RUclips has been crutch, you and others have been a blessing to me. Don't lose yourself in the creator role, as you haven't in the years here. I rather enjoy your content, even if I don't fully agree at times. You have become a friend without ever meeting you, and I'm grateful for that.

Thanks for putting this out there Doc, being able to ask for help is a hard thing to do for many but it's good to know there are people who will listen.

I just got home from a 10 day “my ptsd got the best of me facility”. Embarrassed I had to go but grateful for the help. ❤

Absolutely nothing to be embarrassed about - I spent almost a month in a military specific in-house program during my last days in the military. I credit it as being part of what saved my life. The biggest part for me was really seeing how I was not alone in my experience or feelings. That opened a big door to healing for me.

I wish more people understood that PTSD is not a "military disease", as I've heard it referred to many times. It can hit anyone who's ever been through anything traumatic. I think that there are people suffering without help because they just don't know they can have PTSD and they can get help for it.
in all my time working the bus I've seen some pretty bad things (MVA with an unrestrained 6 y/o, ejected and then rolled over by an SUV still haunts me) but I couldn't imagine being first on scene to a family member!

I have a question.. Does Monthly knife club put anything other than Camillus knive in their $25 & $35 boxes??? Last month I got that weird Camillus knife in a $25 box and I got another in a $35 box today.. So fat I am not impressed with these Walmart knives.. if I was able to speak I would make a video about it myself.

Short answer: yes. In the starter name brand and tier 2 name brand I've gotten lots of different brands.
