Railfanning the NS Chicago Line in Indiana (Part 1)

While up in northern Indiana to see Nickel Plate Road #765 on the Indiana Northeastern Railroad, I opted to catch as many trains at as many locations as possible along the busy NS Chicago Line. During my time along the line, I would see 45 trains total over 3 days with a fair variety of motive power from various railroads. With that, I do intend to return to the Chicago Line in the near future for more action whenever I can! I hope y'all enjoy!

Awesome catches my good sir. Always love to take I-94 through Chicago cause I get to see NS traffic alongside the interstate before & after the skybridge in Chicago. Plus it runs along a part of the South Shore line which is pretty awesome too. So glad I have an uncle who lives in Indiana so it gives me a reason to make that trip 😂.

Many thanks! I have plans to return to the Chicago Line later this year whenever NKP 765 runs on the Indiana Northeastern. I intend to cover most if not all of the other spots I didn't get to last October. Whiting, Pine Junction, & South Bend are the spots I'm kinda skeptical about, but I'd still like to get at least a couple trains at each of those locations.

@@davidcoleman958 Oh, man... quite a few. lol. Pretty much every Metra line in the Chicago area. Also, some places around Detroit, Lansing, and Durand. Harrisburg, PA to Bound Brook, NJ and Princeton Junction, NJ. The ex-IC north of Effingham. BNSF around Galesburg. Quite a lot of places, actually.
