I just can’t get over how Jim Bob and Michelle act like Jill wearing a nose ring is so much worse than everything Josh did. They shunned her and are doing everything in their power to protect Josh. Just crazy!
I’m not sure… I got the feeling from the court readings that Jill chooses to stay away from her family, especially her dad. I’m not saying JimBob would throw his arms wide open to see her. But I feel Jill’s staying away is largely her choice.

Where was his kind heart when seeking out extra-marital relations? I was kidnapped at knife point, attacked and almost didn't live through it. The slime ball did it to 8 other women before it WAS CAUGHT 😁🤗😅 In court "it's" mom kept yelling out "My son is a good boy"...while listening to 9 women tell the judge how her "good boy" almost ended their lives by strangulation and stabbing 🙄😒🤔 What I learned from this is...when a mother tells a judge that her kid is really a good person, she's REALLY saying "I'm not a bad mom". 😤

I am so very sorry that you went through this and then had to suffer hearing it’s mom pleading that it was a good son. I, too, am a survivor of SA by the hands of my sperm donor. In fact, I believe all of my sisters were but I still had family got upset that the sperm donor didn’t give me away at my (first or second wedding) it definitely messes with you forever. So very thankful I have the husband that I do now. But I did plenty to test him. I have a lot of guilt I carry for multiple reasons. So thankful you’re still here with us 💕
Imagine being one of her daughters and reading about how your mother is defending your brother after he did horrific things to you but she can't be bothered to tell your dad that he shouldn't shun you for wearing pants,getting your nose pierced or moving,with your husband,so he can go to school?

He needs to be locked up at least until his children reach adulthood just to protect them because the adults in that family apparently have no regard for the safety of all those kids they insist on having. I was SA by someone in our church as a child maybe 9 or 10 years old. I repressed it until I was an adult and married. Finally I found out that this respected person had done this to multiple children. We tried to prosecute, unfortunately the statute of limitations was over so we could not send him to prison but we were able to expose him to the church so he could not harm anyone else at our church. I found out of his death last year so I had to come to terms that he never showed remorse his actions. So this letter makes me ill because my abuser was married and I feel she enabled him.😪😪

Thoughts of Josh doing things with his children would not encourage me to give a shorter sentence if I was the Judge. Give the full 20 to keep the kids out of Josh's reach for the rest of their childhoods. The denial in these letters is offensively immeasurable. The lengths this “family” is willing to go through to not only deny what he has done but cover up and also aid Josh’s crimes is revolting and atrocious. It is because of people like his wife and his parents that egregious crimes against children are able to happen. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Unbelievable that she would write a letter like this. She is as sick as josh is!!!! So sad that she can’t even acknowledge the terrible things he has done to her own daughters let alone the innocent children in the films. As a child of SA I can tell you it never goes away. I can only pray that his sisters get therapy to understand it was not their fault and that just because someone is family that does not make them a good person. Personally as a judge I would read this letter and be even more convinced he needs to be in there the longest time needed because he clearly doesn't have anyone to hold him accountable in the outside world

BUT you are exactly right, if a child gets cancer and a parent does nothing to treat it and they get worse or lose their life, that is on the parent. They could have gotten the child help and treatment and done everything they could. Josh is sick, he's been sick since he was a child. He needed treatment and counseling and therapy, the duggar's thoughts and prayers literally did nothing to help him so they are now, in part, responsible for who he is today. *I will also add that no matter the reason Josh is the way he is its unacceptable. Research does show that the majority of offenders have been victims themselves at one point, again not an excuse for him to be an adult and not seek treatment nor for his parents to have ignored his issues and not gotten him help, but there is a chance this was done to him as a child and that's a really sad thought because if that happened that person may never be brought to justice and the ripple effect they created has hurt so many lives along the way

My Father was TENDER hearted HE was truly an amazing human and father. He never looked at those things. His life was his family and protected us all especially me being his little girl. When a neighbor assaulted me when I was younger my Father and Brother both dealt with the guy when police said I was too young to testify and would be traumatized. My Dad Was a real Christian. He also got me professional help immediately lasting years

It has been my experience that judges really don't put much weight on letters like these. When the boom comes & we find out the number of years he will serve on sentencing day, it will be a big shock to all of his family & friends.

These are the kind of letters I would expect for someone who has been convicted of something like tax evasion, etc. Not for a crime that involves innocent children. I am shocked. Knowing that both of them want him home ASAP makes me worry for the safety of the kids.

IMO Michelle and Anna's letters have probably done more harm than good in terms of their agenda to minimize his sentence. They have perfectly illustrated to the judge why Josh should not be let off with a light sentence. They have demonstrated just how deep the delusion and insanity run in the family. That dynamic does not bode well for for Josh's reform.
My husband spends time with our son. We go on walks and outings. He does projects around the house. Goes into his job on his off time to fix things. Normal day to day things. Never has he SA’d small children or watched CSAM on a secret, partitioned computer. Delusional. This letter is absolutely delusional.
It sounds like she's in denial just like her dil. Either that or they can't address the crimes due to a possible appeal. Both are in a rock and a hard place if they did believe his crimes. Speaking from experience with someone like Josh, all that stuff, how he acts in front of others, even those closest to him, is all a mask. He shows everyone exactly what they want. He's only the person they want him to be, so he can continue being who he really is, in private.

I was kidnapped at knife point, attacked and almost didn't live through it. The slime ball did it to 8 other women before it WAS CAUGHT 😁🤗😅 In court "it's" mom kept yelling out "My son is a good boy"...while listening to 9 women tell the judge how her "good boy" almost ended their lives by strangulation and stabbing 🙄😒🤔 What I learned from this is...when a mother tells a judge that her kid is really a good person, she's REALLY saying "I'm not a bad mom". 😤

I am so very sorry that you went through this and then had to suffer hearing it’s mom pleading that it was a good son. I, too, am a survivor of SA by the hands of my sperm donor. In fact, I believe all of my sisters were but I still had family got upset that the sperm donor didn’t give me away at my (first or second wedding) it definitely messes with you forever. So very thankful I have the husband that I do now. But I did plenty to test him. I have a lot of guilt I carry for multiple reasons.

I was SA by someone in our church as a child maybe 9 or 10 years old. I repressed it until I was an adult and married. Finally I found out that this respected person had done this to multiple children. We tried to prosecute, unfortunately the statute of limitations was over so we could not send him to prison but we were able to expose him to the church so he could not harm anyone else at our church. I found out of his death last year so I had to come to terms that he never showed remorse his actions.
So this letter makes me ill because my abuser was married and I feel she enabled him.😪😪

I can only pray that his sisters get therapy to understand it was not their fault and that just because someone is family that does not make them a good person. Bad things happen to good people and his sisters were placed in this situation by no fault of their own. BUT you are exactly right, if a child gets cancer and a parent does nothing to treat it and they get worse or lose their life, that is on the parent. They could have gotten the child help and treatment and done everything they could. Josh is sick, he's been sick since he was a child. He needed treatment and counseling and therapy, the duggar's thoughts and prayers literally did nothing to help him so they are now, in part, responsible for who he is today.
*I will also add that no matter the reason Josh is the way he is its unacceptable. Research does show that the majority of offenders have been victims themselves at one point, again not an excuse for him to be an adult and not seek treatment nor for his parents to have ignored his issues and not gotten him help, but there is a chance this was done to him as a child and that's a really sad thought because if that happened that person may never be brought to justice and the ripple effect they created has hurt so many lives along the way

It has been my experience that judges really don't put much weight on letters like these. When the boom comes & we find out the number of years he will serve on sentencing day, it will be a big shock to all of his family & friends.

IMO Michelle and Anna's letters have probably done more harm than good in terms of their agenda to minimize his sentence. They have perfectly illustrated to the judge why Josh should not be let off with a light sentence. They have demonstrated just how deep the delusion and insanity run in the family. That dynamic does not bode well for for Josh's reform.

My husband spends time with our son. We go on walks and outings. He does projects around the house. Goes into his job on his off time to fix things. Normal day to day things. Never has he SA’d small children or watched CSAM on a secret, partitioned computer.

It sounds like she's in denial just like her dil. Either that or they can't address the crimes due to a possible appeal. Both are in a rock and a hard place if they did believe his crimes. Additionally, Anna saying she wanted him to come back to her and her kids, wow, any judge would think she's nuts a give him the harshest allowed by law. Maybe that's the purpose? Probably not, but one never knows.

That's what I keep wondering. No way should Josh D be around any children. Anna is NOT an adequate supervisor. Anna may have let him do who knows what at the Rebers' house. Anna isn't allowed to tell Josh no. I never really thought Mrs. Reber would report anything inappropriate. In their religion, nothing males do seems to be viewed as inappropriate. For the males it's do what you want and blame the females for not stopping you. Even though they aren't allowed to tell you no. Quite the set up for allowing/encouraging ab-se.
If I were the judge in this case, the letters from Anna and Michelle, would be glaring declarations that they will continue to not believe anything bad about Josh and will continue to enable him in the future. So sad.

I think one of the most telling and concerning things in her letter is that she signed her name with a heart... A grown woman. I used to do that when I was in elementary school.

The letters feel very much like a form letter and they both were provided what to say to make Josh look better and unfortunately I know Josh is an awful person and needs this punishment for his choices.

Speaking from experience with someone like Josh, all that stuff, how he acts in front of others, even those closest to him, is all a mask. He shows everyone exactly what they want. He's only the person they want him to be, so he can continue being who he really is, in private.

The older I get the more convinced I am that the mother explains EVERYTHING you see in a grown man. I have my mom to thank for having the most moral, loyal brother who we never question. My partners mother raised a responsible, kind man and I aim to be proud of my little son even 50 years from now.
