The Last Days of Spring On the last days of Spring sitting quietly at my desk the words began to flow- I pick up the pen at rest, Dancing upon the walls candlelight flickering windows mirror reflections warm glow surrounding, I draw in a deep breath as peace comes to lay ...softly like a mist floated ‘round me to stay, An owl hooted in the trees then silently flew by on cool night breezes I released a soft sigh, Blossoms now fading turned to green leaves in the woods beyond spiders swiftly weave, A moon rose above beams waltz to the ground ivory rays of pearl resting on the mound, Flowers on the grave I wipe a tear falling my pen scratches paper this moment capturing, Perfume drifts through the open window gently filling my senses deep with aroma heavenly, On these last days of Spring achingly remembering while I sit and write- on a perfect evening.
