Nice video, assuming this was 2023? If so, good to see brookies there pulled through the drought, farther up the shore the DNR is anticipating significant mortality last year. Some observations: back in my spinner days of the '70s and '80s, I found gold and copper blades was more attractive for brookies than silver in tannin-stained northern waters. I even tie Mickey Finns with gold tinsel in addition to silver. :) I commend you on your fish handling techniques, some of the videos I see are cringeworthy. Looking forward to seeing more videos in the future!
Never seen more trout in a year in my life actually, many new beaver ponds on this stream I’m sure that held them through the winter, even surrounding streams were pretty decent this year
If you ever want to find some that creep over that one foot mark, check out the Cloquet River. Very sneaky trout stream.. my biggest has come from that river. I do recommend going with a horseshoe in your pocket because there aren't many. Believe it or not my fish was caught on a 3/8 ounce red jig head with some crawler 😆
Like 15 years ago it was ALOT easier then it is today, used to be able to go to Chester bowl and catch browns all day, Same with Chester creek out east
sadly the fisheries in Duluth have gotten worse overtime but there are still plenty of places to and find native and stocked trout, and of course the salmon runs can be very fun too.@@Eskay94
The further up the better find skinny water with deep pools! If the suns out the fish are hiding so pick a cloudy day or early morning or late eavening! There is always fish but hard to get them to eat most of the time! But When the bite is on it is on!!!
I’m gonna try to go trout fishing in Duluth this year thanks for the lure tips!!

It’s 07/07/24 and we were just up in Lutsen/grand Marais, and the rains have been crazy I’m sure the fishing is wild !!
Nicely done. Love to see you having a successful trip on our home waters. FYI: Treble hooks are not allowed on North Shore trout streams.
Always thought it was pinched barb so that’s what I had, then discovered single hook only have switched to since then!👍

Tried so many times to get on good trout in Duluth and can never get them to bite
It’s tough, it’s a lot about how good conditions are on the day you go but there are always trout to be found! Especially up here in Duluth!

Just heard about all the thousands of fish in Tischer creek found dead of unnatural causes. What's going on? 8/5/24
The dead fish were found morning of 8/1/24?
Terrible news, was always a good stream with lots of healthy fish released!
