Have you done Le Jog?
Yes, just got back from completing mine. Video out soon 😀
Look forward to watching that 😎 @@cyclingmod
A few years ago I did a 14 day bike packing trip. I don't suppose you would be able to share a link to the route it looks good as I'm planning a 7 day version so yours would be a good template to edit!
@@GuidoRowe if you look at my strava from here onwards that will help www.strava.com/activities/9382307287
@@veloperformance excellent thank you!
I’ve just come across your video wow what an achievement very well done. I rode Lejog last year aged 68 it took me 14 days but the feeling when I got to the top is one I’ll never forget I was so emotional .
Awesome. Anyone who does Le Jog I say Chapeau 😎🚴♂️💨
Great video! Yesterday I cycled 250km, over the Lakes and into Whitehaven solo. Longest ride yet, hit Wrynose and Hardknott pass at 8.30pm…spoke to 2 people all day at coffee stops…a small group of walkers shouted good luck at the base of Wrynose and a few sheep got in my way on the way up..
Exhilarating..humbling..lonely…worth every second even after the flat and having to find a bike shop for a new tyre in Hawes along with the 60mile headwind from the start..
Did it on my Ribble 653 steely rather than the R5..good training for LeJog next year I say..
Keep at it 👍
Thank you. That’s a great ride Ged good riding 🚴♂️💨
@@veloperformance Thank you, it’s a drop in the ocean compared to what you achieved but it’s inspiring stuff 👍
Excellent job ,be proud, man you deserve it
Thank you very much!
Great effort (and video) - amazing to see how far you go on a bike in a straight line, day 1 Bristol, day 2 Manchester, day 3 Glasgow…. Sometimes we normalise these things!!!
Thank you. Seeing it on the final Strava Land End to JOG seems mental now 😆
Great effort lads ,very well done. should be way more people seeing this video, guess that's the YT algorithm for you. Enjoy what many only dream of doing guys.No fuss,No Dramas No BS, Again congratulations.
Much appreciated!😎
This has to be one of the best videos on RUclips! Fantastic effort and what a great achievement. Thanks for making this film and sharing.
Thank you 😎
Simon, I loved watching this. SUCH a huge challenge and some serious head work along the way with all that weather and miles done in 5 days. Absolutely awesome achievement. A proper Chapeau (I can recall that road as you hit the northern most coast for the first time, its a magic feeling eh) Well done mate :)
Thank you mate. What a ride 😎🤙
Awesome vid well done on your achievement, im 48 and would love to do this...but trying to get stronger on the bike first...Keep it up brilliant
Thank you. Hope the videos on the Chanel can help with your training and nutrition Keep on keeping on. 👍🏼
Loved the video. Hats off to you for sticking with the plan despite the challenges. It's inspirational, showing the art of the possible. Well done.
Tour de Mont Blanc sometime?
Have done Tour de Mont Blanc it was brutal hot. Here’s the link to the video. ruclips.net/video/Oj3MO_qchJw/видео.htmlsi=k-x7H56yiNPbLxus thanks for the comments. And thanks for the support. 👍🏼😎
Yes, just seen your website and saw you'd already done it,another massive well done to you. A pal of mine tried it last year, brutal heat like you experienced. He had to bail about two thirds round as he ran out of fuel and water.
Really enjoyed this video. Congrats on the achievement. Seems like you battled a few demons along the way which for me is a major reason I cycle.. 🤙
Thnak you, yeah cycling is the same for me.
You mentioned a few times since about recovery and the fatigue you’ve been feeling… I’d be keen to hear whether you expected this? As someone who practices what you preach were you surprised at the fatigue? Any thoughts on the recovery approach? Thank you for the content 🙏
@@McDonaldPhotography Ill do a video about this because there were several things that happened that I didn't expect and made things super tough.
Incredible video - really inspiring
Thank you 😎
Incredible! You monster!
Lols. Thank you.
Good job 👍Did it back in 2009 with a camelbak, rain jacket and a credit card, took me 6 days though.
That’s impressive.
Fantastic!!🎉
Thank you.
Looking to do this in 5 days aswell!
Good luck. Let me know how you go.
What a ride!!! I’m attempting lejog next summer in five days curious as to the route you took, could you send me your route ?
This was my first day you can see the route on my Strava the days after this www.strava.com/activities/9382307287
Incredible to do this in 5 days. I’m on day 10 on my Marin mountain bike and in Carlisle
Incredible doing it any way. It’s a great experience. Enjoy 😎
Just stumbled across this video. Honestly that is a mega achievement. Got loads of questions but probably too many for here. The big question ive got is how did you over come the mental challenge of it when it got tough ? Honestly I tip my cap to you sir ❤
Hi Russ. Thanks for that. Yeah there were some tough moments. I did a video about that ruclips.net/video/SR2-ToopMKg/видео.html 😎
Supreme.
Great video. I would love to do it.
Thank you. Di it. It’s epically tough and awesome at the same time.
Great achievement!
Thank you 😎
Excellent vid . Can you share the route you took please . I plan off doing this for chaarity
Steve are you on Strava?
And thank you. I’m still
Learning the story telling of video creation. It’s not as easy to make it flow as other creators make it look. 😆
Wow mate loved watching that! However if I knew I was going to be made famous I would have had a bloody shave 😂 great work 🎉
Thank for coming out to cheer me on. Meant a lot. You can rock a beard mate 😎👍🏼
we are 2023 being gay or lesbian shouldn't be an issue anymore, just live life
on topic hats off for this performance, i know from experience the mental part is the hardest, but if you are capable with that, then a lot is possible(myself i did the tour the france this year, same stages 1 day ahead of the pro's) keep on riding greetings from belgium
Nice one. That’s a great achievement. 🚴♂️💨😎
I wonder if it is any “easier” going one way over the other? Clearly it is something that only the few can even dream of doing let alone achieve but I wonder if the direction of travel matters?
Coming from the north you often get a headwind which makes it harder.
This is absolutely mental, so chapeau to for this in 5 days! I've just completed mine in 13 days and that was a challenge. Brilliant effort!
Thank you and chapeau right back. Anyone who takes this on 5 days or 4 weeks is taking on a challenge. 😎👍🏼🚴♂️💨
Any chance you could post your route, at least through Cornwall and Devon?
It’s on my Strava. www.strava.com/athletes/velo-simon 😎
Look at the end of July for the route.
I see it, thanks!
No worries. Hope you find it helpful. 😎
I messaged you on Linkedin did you see it?
I think your mate Andy had the right idea - hopping on the bike for the pretty bits through the Lake District and Glen Coe 😀.
Lols. He defo had some of the best bits. 😎
Well done, epic ride. You legend👌
Thank you James 👍🏼
