The system of roads on the old lava deltas at the southern tip and up the western side of the island is so fascinating. The limited access back up the cliffs would be unnerving to me. If the lava flows from this eruption spread much more south into the ocean looks like a whole delta is in danger of being cut off! Good work on these 3-D maps!
Thanks! indeed, on such a steep island, the road system is complex, and very fragile.

Thanks again for an informative view of the island. It would be interesting to see the ocean area all around the island at some point with all the identifiable old volcanoes marked in red - just a hint 😉. It is Amazing to see the results of 2 million years of volcanic activity that has risen from the oceans floor.

Se podrá llamar Vocán de San Jenaro, Volcán de la Tele, Volcán Cabeza de Vaca, Volcán de Todoque. Volcán del Monstruo...nadie sabe aún cómo la gente recordará ese volcán cuando ya sólo sea un accidente geográfico de infausto recuerdo...
There should be a special place for #Todoque in any remembrance.
I'm asking the Spanish government to create a control canal for future eruptions to let the lava flow freely into the sea for the future. This will greatly reduce damage to crops and properties in the tens of millions of dollars.
Question. When we see the ridge drop in sea views, is this an island built on top of a once super volcano and now rebuilding.
All the Canary Islands are of volcanic origin, and have been formed by a multitude of eruptions over millions of years.

"Caldera de Taburiente"(northern tip of La Palma Island) is probably the largest on Earth, it is 9 km wide by 1 1/2 km deep. Way way back a ginormous eruption on it created the island before the western wall collapsed.
The subsequent "Cumbre Vieja" eruptions created the current Deltas around the Island gradually.

Cumbre vieja es el lugar, no el nombre del volcán, los volcanes de la Palma son de un solo uso, una vez terminada la erupción no volverá a erupcionar, como lo hicieron sus precursores.

Toda a ilha é um só vulcão por isso de tantas formações de bocas, ao meu ver e por prudência o mais viável é a retirada total de TDS os residentes da ilha mais cedo antes que seja tarde d+, é uma opinião que Deus abençoe TDS vcs

Otro tonto que no tiene ni idea, en 600 años han muerto en erupciones en las islas Canarias 25 personas, ayer solo en Kentucky murieron en tornados el doble de personas que en 600 años en Canarias.
Pide a los de Kentucky que abandonen su estado que es mucho mas peligroso que los volcanes de Canarias.

Il y a les mêmes possibilités pour ça, que n'importe quelle falaise des autres Iles Canaries, des Azores, de Madère, de Normandie, de Bretagne, de l'Anglettere, du sud de l'Italie, dans les iles Hawaii, ou où qu'il soit "tombe dans l'océan", avec des dimensions bien plus grandes. Tous les institutions scientifiques serieuses du monde ont dementi depuis des années cet "documentaire-fiction-sentationalisme" fait par National Geographic pour gagner de l'argent. National Geographic est une firme commercial, qui vive du profit, pas de la science. Le plus interessant c'est de savoir que des compagnies d'assurance des USA gagnent de l'argent depuis des années en chargeant ses clients avec des primes pour un "risque de tsunami" inexistant. Cherchez l'argent, cherchez le gagnant...
