    A name that stuck because of his preferred work attire, a black trouser, Mr. Rajendran’s ‘Trouser Kadai’ (Kamatchi Mess) is the sort of nondescript eatery that may not beget a second look when you walk past it in Mandaveli, Chennai. However, that doesn't seem to deter its diehard fans in the least who have been flocking here for the last 45 years to savour the meaty fare that he cooks over a wood-fired stove. I visited him just before lunch hour on a Saturday to watch the making of some of the dishes, before sitting down for an enjoyable meal comprising mutton chukka, vanjaram fry, kola urundai and a scrumptious kola urundai. Hope you enjoy this episode as well; take care, stay safe and strong. Happy eating!

    I watched this episode and the one at Leela Bangalore almost back to back. One thing struck me. Kripal is equally at ease, be it in a 5 star property like Leela or in a dingy looking small restaurant. But one thing has to be common, the food. That is the real superstar for him.

    Good morning dear Kripal 🙏 The moment you posted the post on Twitter some of your followers were quick to realise it’s Trouser Kadai - Cool 👍👍 I have never been to this hole in the wall eatery- would be interesting to watch . I was actually wondering the on what could be reason behind the name of this eatery and you informed us right at the beginning. 👍 Kudos to Mr Rajendran for holding fort for 45 years . Simply love the way you conversed with Mr Rajendran in Tamil - Impressive Thalaiva 👍👍 So sweet of the owner to cook a veg dal for himself being a Saturday- Super cool 👍👍👌👌 These chefs are legends when it comes to cooking such tiny kitchen and that too quite particular on their health - Need to learn and imbibe from these legends 🙏🙏Spice , Salt perfect aa irukku Sir 😅😅 Kudos to Ms Selvu for being a multi tasked - 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Banana Ellai saapadu 👍 That’s a fabulous spread - looks bright , glistening and the curry looks delicious 😋😋😋 Sooda sooda rice with soodu and spicy curry 👍👍 Not sure from your expression if you liked the Kola Urundai . Glad that you relished the Yera Thokku - quite clear from your expressions and comments this time . You are so candid and honest and that’s what we love about you . What a fantastic explanation on the flavour profile of meat delicacies - so much to learn from you 🙏 You reiterated that the Prawns Thokku was the best dish amongst all other items that you tasted 👍👍 Thoroughly enjoyed this Vlog . Today for lunch we have Jasmine rice and Thai Green curry . So looking forward to having a good lunch with my family . This Vlog was also a good learning . Thanks a bunch for taking us to yet another modest but worth a try of Trouser Kadai 👍🙏 Take , care , stay safe and God bless 🙏🙏 Much love and respect to one and all 👍👍🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

    Just leart the meaning of "pot of gold at the end of rainbow from Kripal. Again it's lovely to enjoy the food story he narrates with amazing visual treats along with some vocab learning. This is a great sort of the cocktail. Love the work you do as always. ❤️😍

    Good coverage ..one observation which I would like to share and appreciate..you retained rawness of footage without editing... example ..mr Rajendran tasting the dish with drop pouring in his hand ..which remembered me home cooking of mom..how they used to do .. 👌

    Kripal ji. You should visit the nooks and crannies of TN. It was where south Indian cuisines originated thousands of years ago And you'll discover some crazy things. I grew up in TN and I am grateful for that life experience

    Small eateries like these are last bastions of true rustic flavor of Indian food. Also they are portals carrying yester year flavors to the new generations.

    what best I like about your vlog is your honest neutral opinion on the food quality, no pre announced visit, no left over food, no ego, a simple and straightforward approach. Keep up the genuine good work! Nowadays most of the food vlogs have people with egoistic attitude, they want extra attention, pre announced visit, free food, plenty of food wastage since the eatry owner serves them most of the menu dishes to please the vlogger for a good review.

      @rajaramnigasoft 2 года назад +1

      @@softgrowl boiled rice was hot and good, the chiken ,mutton curry was average, not that great, the vanjaram fish fry was big, but but was covered in batter masala, in flavour did not penatrated the fish, the kola urundai was the best, I will go some other day to see. If it's the curry tastes the same or different will try mutton sukka and prawns next time, any way my bill was Rs 320 for non veg meals,vanjaram fry ,1 kola urundai, seems like high cost seeing the embience of the hotel,
