    When LD first appeared on the scene, he was already carrying an aura on the court which intimidated older established players like Taufik, Peter Gade, they were saying he was the most threatening player .... And LD's fierce personality helped his game ...

    About Lin Dan, I think you did a perfect job of both raising it (causing a little bit of viral reaction) and then explaining in detail about it.
    Nothing worse than launching a new YT channel and getting stuck in a dull rut, I much prefer your approach, go for it guys! Fans long to hear exactly how you feel about these matters. Also, ignore your coaches or mentors about this. They are sure to prefer a 'safe' but dull approach.
    This practice of Lin Dan and some other players delaying between rallies... I can sympathize with him deliberately slowing the game down as he got older and lost the great physical condition that he had, but still desperately wanted to keep winning, so he kept trying the tactic of delay. By comparison, I find Marin's frequent scream to be unbearable so I no longer watch her matches. A couple of time a match would be ok

  • @88feji
    @88feji Год назад +1

    .... and the craziest thing about LD that no other player dares to even try .....
    is that he has the MOST EPIC victory celebration ever, multiple times he's ran madly around the court, torn his shirt, crazy air punches, military salutes etc etc .... nobody ever has the guts to celebrate like that in badminton history, it takes a big personality to celebrate like that, you don't see that level of celebration in tennis either .... maybe soccer.
    LD will forever be iconic, he's born to be goat not just in skills but also personality ...

    How would you try to make Badminton "easier" to watch in television. I mean, as a Badminton fan I love watching games of the stars but for many other people it seems to be quiet boring because it sometimes looks slower than it is or the atmosphere is not that great. You think one could try different camera postions or movements or anything?

    2008-2010 version of Lin Dan is just ruthless and aggressive. He kinda slow down after 2012 olympic where he's more into tactical and strategy as Lee Chong Wei able to close the gap after that. LCW defensive abilities always get the best of Lin Dan so Lin Dan had to change his play style, they both push each other in a good way. Nowadays the Men singles is much tighter, Antonsen, Axelsen, Lee zii Jia, Chou tien chen, Momota, Loh kean yew, Ginting and Chen Long.

    Anders I do agree with you that LCW is the 2nd best MS player of all time. And I would disagree with Hans on his comment that you missed out a few others back then.
    Back then the game was much different. I would say less developed. If you watch the videos, the players were slower and less fit. Their overall body condition were not really in athlete’s condition maybe cause sports sci was not as developed as it was today. But whatever it is, those guys wouldn’t stand a chance against the 4 heavenly kings.
    I’m not comparing about talent wise because if they were born in this current era with the current training program and technology, who knows they may be actually better.
    But what I’m comparing is a player in his prime in the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s against LCW. They wouldn’t stand a chance.

      @@AndersAntonsen_official yea because the competition back then wasn’t as tough as right now😂. There were too few good players and challengers. But i think the highest level was from 2000-2014.
