Great bass player, steady amid spontaneity; and very intelligent si maam myrene. Loved reading her interview with band wagon asia, the many lives of Myrene Academia. She's on my list on the best Pinoy bass players. She makes the whole band sound good.
I love, love, love listening to her voice again! My brother who was 8 years older than my twin and I influenced us to listen to NU 107 back in the day. Her 'No Radio' segment featured really cool music that nobody ever knew but it was like a hidden record in a record store that was actually crushing it in the Seattle underground music scene. Gano'ng levels. I sort of followed her music from "Duster" to "Sandwich" and of course, "Imago". I was amazed that she was a female bass player, and my brother who had a band back then (faultline) told us how important bassists are too, just as important as rhythm guitarists. So for a female bass player to exist back then in the world of rock was completely fascinating in our household. Listening to her story now sort of resonates with me since our family listened to a lot of music growing up, radio mostly. I was one of those sad kids who cried when NU 107 shut down. Her bands, with you din sir Raymund of course, was very quintessential for my discovery of tastes in music and art. Sorry if this is a bit showbiz but I was ecstatic to learn you guys dated before!!! I'm so glad you guys grew up to be very cool parents to Atari (ang showbiz ko na dito amsorry haha but like I said I grew up with so much rock OPM in the house) and coming across this episode now is both very nostalgic and entertaining for me while working. It's fun looking back at the good old days and kung ano ang naiambag ng mga musicians like you three for people like me na pa tumbling tumbling lang sa life. Great ep!
More power to both of you!~ Sana guess naman si Marc Abaya para tlgang olid na olid haha
Yo if they ever get marc abaya, it would be crazy lol It would be the first official interview with Raymund and Marc together. Not including those tv guestings etc
Like the idea, yano, after image, introvoys, Color it red, teeth, true faith, PNE, Maya, dami masyado. Woods, phil-vio etc
Its like a trip down the Glory Days of NU. I remember waiting for Friday Night just to listen to "Not Radio" Was fortunate to be part of that culture. I wish NU or equivalent format will comeback so other generations will experience those days of discovery.
I had a really big crush on Ms. Myrene when I was a kid. My best friend and I interviewed her for school while she was at the booth at NU. I was 17 and she was like 24. I thought it was love.
thanks sir raim's sir darren..lahat ng episode inabangan ko since EP 1 ,, laking tulong s tulad kong ofw, pang palipas oras n dn at iwas homesick..more episode to come... sana ma shout out next episode ♥️♥️♥️ from Qatar..
Salamat ng marami sa pagbati sir Darrren at wish ko lang na more interesting episodes in the future with my idol Rayms at sana more sponsor to come kung papalarin! More power!
May nauna palang bassist ang imago. Always wondered bakit bihira lang live performances from the probably not but most definitely album. ❤️
The Former Guitarist of the RHCP was Jesse Tobias who played with Frente! (he also played guitar with Alanis Morissette and currenty playing with Morrissey)
The circle is complete ... sir Rayms and sir Daren save the best for last... nice to hear and see mam Myrene again now i have to watch again all the interview of Sandwich Band members. 😎🤘
Yeaaahhhh Maps!! I always come for a few things and end up with way more 😆 Kaya lagi akong maraming reusable bags na dala.
Goosebumps when OFFSTAGE HANG with Mapins notify my fone... sobrang late akong nagising, gulat na gulat ako paggising ko, "nood muna ako bago kumain" hahaha Thank You Sir Rayms and Boss Daren COMPLETE!
Yes.. A to Z Records in Anonas, was my Tito Leslie David's and his partner's baby - Ces Rodriguez, ( Editor-in-chief) of Jingle magazine. I think tambay dun sila Par, Papa Dom etc, Yung bootleg versions was casette tapes na photocopy then highlited with Stabiloboz for neon colors - was sold to High Adenvture and Khumbela
Even maam myrene whos a long time member of a rock band and the OPM industry nabighani sa BTS and kpop. ganon din ako back in 2014 opm and rock music fan ako pero nabighani din ako sa KPop, and you can be a fan of both.
I was surprised that Myrene, basist of rock band is listening and watching kpop. No I mean its not bad thing.. I just thought that Im the only one who likes rock music but listening to mellow music from time to time. hehe... we all have soft side i guess?
What songs and bands I know now, I owe that a lot from NU and Not Radio. I already told this story to Maps during the lockdown, that I use to connect the tv wire antenna to our metal radio antenna just to get the signal. The frequency was weak towards the central Visayas area but we manage. A lot of the big bands now use to be featured in "in the raw". Good times! Enjoyed this episode, thanks guys! Keep going x
Yes, I remember A to Z and this place called Phoenix where you can have songs compiled on cassettes. BASF or Memorex cassettes used for recording via turntable hooked up on cassette recorders.
Gusto ko sana personal life nya, like lovelife, as a student, as a daughter wife and what brought her to rock
allryd to Sir Rims and Darren! looking forward sa next na episode.. sino naman kaya.... BTW nakalipat na ata sila Darren.. Ganda kulay ng bahay. Congrats!
Ano po ang thoughts nyo about that as musicians. Thanks. Mabuhay po kayo.
Ooppss..thought of buying myself one as a birthday present to myself. Those great words from Mapins will really sell that bass. Anyway, I hope DnD will restock soon. Thanks for the response,@@raymundmarasigan84. Can't wait to watch the next Offstage episode.
january 20 1996 when foo fighters, sonic youth and beastie boys visited manila, eraserheads and francis m opened for them I was there I remembered the showrunners how they treated the opening acts by not turning off the lights, disrespectful
Sana may question how they became lovers 😅
eto yung hinahanap kong comment eh hahaha
I guess yn yun most requested question in everybodys mind. 😂
mag asawa sila dba ?

Myrene is so simple yet her influence is huge both with her fellow artists and listeners 🙌
Crush ko yan si Myrene, she tries to be simple but she's extraordinary and exceptional person, with a really good heart.
Puso ng Sandwich yan!

Ano ba nangyari pala sa Sandwich? Bat umalis si Marc, at bat naging vox si Raymund? Curious ako, di ko alam history nila eh.
@@sometimesitbelikedat2529 marc left because of creative differences :))

He never became an official member of the Chilis actually, he only sessioned with them and Flea thought it didn't work out.
