I'll try to explain this short and simple. The 1.5 needle is universal for all fluid tips from 1.3 to 1.5. It's the fluid tip that makes the difference. Also the air caps are designed differently on each gun. One is closer to hvlp and the other is close to conventional. You should see a difference in the size of the holes in the air horns between each cap. The shape or "style" of the gun body itself really makes no difference. Although some can feel more comfortable in the hand than others. The magic happens in the air cap mostly. Some guns have a baffle which disperses the air just before it reaches the air cap and decreases the turbulence. There's a lot of science and precision engineering involved with a spray gun.

Also I didn’t think about it when I said it , so I kinda talk occasionally without thinking 😂… I’m very human believe it or not . And I appreciate your information… sometimes I forget how shit works too and then I’m like “ ohhh yeahhh I forgot about that “
My sata5000 had a plastic baffle just before the air cap for exactly the reason you just mentioned. It also was the first piece that broke on me for cleaning. Expensive gun, cheap (yet costly) parts!
Recently i switched from two Walcom genesi 360 ligth base gun and a clear gun, an ego190 mini for cerakote, and a slim kombat nero primer gun, all were HTE. I switched to the 3 Devilbiss DV1 guns and an flg primer gun. I love the DV1 guns there are no plastic parts anywhere on them and they spray better than i even hoped for. However the flg 1.8mm primer gun sucks and i cant stand it. I just ordered a Kiwami4 1.8mm for a primer gun and hopefully it works out.
I've sprayed 2 bumpers with the Kwami. Sprayed both color and clear with the 1.3. The clear laid down awesome. The pattern was smaller than I was expecting, but perfect for the bumpers. I feel it sprays and handles like a smaller gun; like a 3/4 size. I got a Sagola 4600 extreme at the same time and the Kwami is definitely smaller but i like the way the Kwami handles. I think it will be my main gun from now on. I was able to spray the bumpers with a 2hp 10 gallon compressor btw.
I appreciate your insight on that !!! I love the Kiwami4 but my main gun is still my W-400 and LPH-300 … the Kiwami4 or wider4 are like my , if I get bored and wanna use something new guns . Also I love the katana airrex Iwata for small jobs too like bumpers … now there like 80 dollars on some sites
Still happy with my W400's. I have them figured out pretty well and they spray consistent for me. Lv2 cap. Like em so much I don't plan on buying any more spray guns. So my total "collection"is 2 w 400's, one Ani, a Sprayit lvlp, Masterpro touch up gun and a couple older siphon feeds. 3M accuspray for all primers. Dats it. I still watch gun reviews and like seeing new guns, but I'm good with what I got.
I really like the look of both guns and they seem to spray really nice especially for the price. I picked the Kiwamai but haven't got a chance to spray out of it yet.
On the chart between the wider4 vs wider4l air consumption is very different, 210l vs 130l of ajr per minute yet 280 vs 270 ml of fluid. Fan pattern marginally bigger on the wider4l. It costs more but on paper looks the better of the two
Cap side air holes are closer on the wider only difference but it males the wider 4 cap spray smaller amd wetter of a pattern compared with the kwami least petes hobbys pointed that out was going to get a wider to jave 1 for base 1 for clear and get the wider in 1.4 cause same nossle and needle so cam switch it up and the wider is 179 and kwami is 270 now so wider is cheaper as of 12 7 23
Also what's the difference between a 1.3 vs 1.4 really? I know the 1.4 flows more paint but charts say the fan pattern is almost the same size is that accurate or not? I always felt iwatas were slow I had a lph400 1.4 and had to bore the damn thing in order to get enough air moving through it to match it's fluid output so I could really move. Otherwise it was too slow

I believe there are 2 or 3 versions of each gun, I want to say there are compliant and hvlp versions of each and at least with the kiwami the air caps come in different colors. The orange you have a blue and like a creme or almond Color. It's confusing!
Im about to order the a new gun. Find this video after I search and its between this two guns, does the wider4 have bigger pattern? And is 1.3 enough for body panels?
They both are , I adjusted my fan pattern to be smaller but they both fit just right … my favorite tip is 1.4 for clear and 1.3 for base and thinner clears

Because of that big flow of Kiwami4 s the price of the classic W-400 or bellaira has skyrocketed 🚀. That’s what im hunting for the most right now
