Holy cow. The compositions, the arrangements, the individual and ensemble vocalizing of this group were brilliant. Sara's intonation is some of the best in the business. Sean made a great move switching to the old Gibson. Somebody needs to write a book about these guys...
Wow Sara is so beautiful and her voice in this one is spectacular. These three are magnificent. But this song is so well choreographed I'm just at a loss for words how good it all sounds! The harmony of Chris and Sean is superb!!
I'm so happy I know who the best three musicians in America are, and so bummed they aren't known for their incredible undeniable talent. Shame America, you just don't know.
It'd be nice to have all the songs from this performance on here. Love this song, the whole show was good. Would like to have their cover of "The Ledge" posted.
I don't think they had been touring or playing together for awhile before this. they took a long break and only came back for a few shows. really wish they would record another album.
It was a happy day indeed, but for me it wasn’t nearly as happy as the day back in November when I got an email about the presale for tickets to their three shows at The Ryman in April.
Every now and then they perform old songs together (like on Chris' radio show Live from Here). And Sean and Sara just released a new Watkins Family Hour record together! It's so good.
She looked grumpy (occasional bung notes and a bow hitting the guitar will do that to a perfectionist), but I still think overall they had more energy at that small gig
Every time I have seen them has been a very different experience. But the first time I saw them was in Atlanta during touring for their Self Titled album. And the atmosphere was more akin to a punk/indi concert than anything else. Standing room only...Nirvana covers... All ages...

That's what happens when you combine three child prodigies for 25 years.
Sara's Album is worth the price.
@@palliard I'm sad that everyone would rather hear autotune than talent. But these three are unbelievably amazing.
Very rare you see a group stay together like this one so when they do it's just gets better and better with time!
They have so many but this, hands down, in my top 5 and this is the best performance of it... just amazing.
There aren't any charts to chart how good this song is.
+Wade Williams Exactly (thank you)
I agree. I have loved it for years. It's So Encouraging to stop waiting and BE the DESTINATION.
There is good, there is great, there is perfection, then there is Nickel Creek.
Better than perfect called, and wished it could be this good.
I saw these guys when they were kids. Told Chris he was the Hendrix of mandolin players. Damn they were great!
That’s so cool!
This is hands down their best song. Ultimate replay value
Nickel Creek deserves the presidential medal of freedom.

One of the greatest break up songs ever.
these folks have always been this good, from the time they were kids!!
I loved these guys as a kid and as a 29 year old I love them even more!! Glad they're back together!!
I saw this show and its one of the best ones i have ever seen in my life. Bravo

Guess some people would rather just watch Mylie Cyrus or Justin Bieber.
Shhhh. Let's keep them for ourselves and out of mainstreams spotlight 😉
Such awesome harmonies.
there's something special about sibling harmonies.
Best live version of their best song . Legends
On tour again too!! New album 2023 ❤️ we needed y’all right now 🎶 Fr .
Remember, Sara has her own albums too! They're all amazing.
I'm so happy I know who the best three musicians in America are, and so bummed they aren't known for their incredible undeniable talent. Shame America, you just don't know.
This band inspires me

One of my favorite bands of all time. But, Sara,....please take this in the best light. Your voice makes me think of sweet cream.
Me encantan
I love it.
amazing
Oh I miss the violin in this but … soo soo beautiful
I'm so glad to see Sara taking charge! For years we thought it was Chris's band, but she changed that
This is my ringtone
Why does Mark Shatz go largely uncredited for his bass work for NC?
whew, my always water at about 3:23 when she kicks it up.
i would marry sarah in a heartbeat that voice melts me
While you’re into this song, check out the cover by Foxes and Fossils. I love nickel creek but the F&F version is really good.
damn sara! grab your fiddle and play that thang girl! but killer song still
Yesterday was SUCH a happy day after learning Nickel Creek has a NEW ALBUM dropping at the end of March, 2023!
It was a happy day indeed, but for me it wasn’t nearly as happy as the day back in November when I got an email about the presale for tickets to their three shows at The Ryman in April.
They are heading out on a national tour in support of the new album Celebrants.
Any chance they get back together?
Every now and then they perform old songs together (like on Chris' radio show Live from Here). And Sean and Sara just released a new Watkins Family Hour record together! It's so good.
Foxes and Fossils brought me here
Is it me, or being on a big stage, do they lose a bit of the energy they have in a more "intimate" setting (i.e. NPR tiny desk)?
Maybe. But not here. Cheers
Watching it again a year later, I stand by my original observation. They work better when they are jammed in each other's faces.
I don't know...i saw the tiny desk gig, and Sarah didn't hit it like she did here.
She looked grumpy (occasional bung notes and a bow hitting the guitar will do that to a perfectionist), but I still think overall they had more energy at that small gig

I already heard this on another RUclips video.
Lisa Loeb sings country now??
