Went for the first time in 1982 and was blown away by how great the airport was (though as an Australian it was a shock to see soldiers wandering around with what looked like sub machine guns). I've flown that one a couple times including also in January 2022 and I have found the 18 hours actually aren't that bad. I've always said that anything after six hours is a blur anyway. And the direct flight is better than the SQ 25/26 route via FRA and saves at least two hours. I've done the JFK-FRA-SIN route on their A380 and B747 and the direct route if far better. And we too had those pancakes and they were nasty pieces of cardboard! SQ's service and quality have been reduced dramatically using covid as an excuse and we customers must demand better. Regarding the solo seat, yes it is nice to have the extra storage but being in the rear, where the only toilets and the only galley are for that cabin, you will experience a LOT of traffic with people forward of you making their way to and from the back. I would never choose those seats in the rear as you will constantly be bumped and your shoulder used for support by the continual line of traffic to and from the crappers. Sit closer to the front for far fewer violations of your space and your body.

I do a lot of international flights for work and I no longer like direct flights especially this long. It was OK when I was younger, but nowdays, I don't mind a stop half-way at the hub city, so I can walk around. I think once a while, this kind of flights are OK, but for frequent long hauler, a break in between is much needed.

@@jk1776yt I last flew the 380 JFK-FRA-SIN about five years ago in economy and it was adequate. Quality and service on SQ are always good and are far above US based carriers. The food was adequate for economy and I see little difference in quality when originating from JFK. I flew the JFK-SIN route just this week in PE and the food was acceptable, even the pancakes. You should see little difference in food and service on the FRA route but plan on at least two hours added to your trip for the stopover.

I flew this flight end december 2022. The meal service was slightly different. Breakfast was served 10 hrs into the flight instead followed by pizza before landing. The menu was the exact same too. I opted for the three-cup baked chicken which was great and the pancakes as well. Hated the compote, would've liked more custard but it was edible I guess, not the best.

I'm 6'1" about 230 lbs and have made several trips from JFK to Taipei over the past 20 years. It's about 16 hours on Eva Air. I fly Premium Economy on their 777-300 which is adequate. @TravelingWithLex 2 года назад +1

I'll be taking this flight again R/T this month. I can't say enough about the CABIN crew. But my last flight out of JFK, the check-in process was the worst I've ever experienced in 60 years of flying. And this wasn't just pressure from COVID or any external circumstances. After waiting in line for 3 full hours, I still had not been checked in. It was an absolute miracle I made the flight at all - the lead cabin person was literally begging TSA to try to get me through a line with hundreds of other passengers boarding other airlines. So, not ALL SIA's fault, but certainly that business at JFK, with 3 flights all checking in at the same time: disaster. Also - their customer service phone lines? Forget about it. Not going to happen. Their customer service "robot"? Even worse. So, basically, if you're very, very lucky, it turns into a nice fight. But if one single problem occurs before the flight - surrender all ye who enter here. You are doomed. Having said all that, i'll take a nice gift for the cabin crew on board next week. Maybe it will bring me luck.

My friend I am sorry for the following: start 1984 on Singapore Airlines, between S´pore-Hamburg, via Colombo, Karatschi, Dubei, and Rom, Zürich, Frankfurth. 800 to 1000DM(German Marks) one way Ticket, Betterklasse, mean near by the aft Toiletts, but SMOKING. Every 4 months one direction. Now i must change to German :
    Wir hatten damals geflügelte Worte;

I find your commentary titles to not be on the screen long enough to read and digest.

I always find it a disappointment when there is no cheese and crackers with the main meal.

Yes bro, we know JFK is a dump right now unfortunately. But looking at LGA now, there's hope its reno will be finished before the transporter beam is invented. But anyway, NYCs good side is never the airports. But great video, I'm hoping to take this flight soon to go to the Philippines.

Yeah - the new LGA looks great! Even JFK is actually improving some, but is still kinda a dump.

Sorry to say this, but your entire video, you never showed the seat and the recline. If it was convenient or not, no such information… I don’t know; many reviewers just show take off landing, food and that is it…

With the war in Ukraine and the blockage of a space of Russia and Ukraine how will this change the flight path and flight hours

This was filmed pre-invasion, but now, this flight takes an alternate route over southern Europe, Turkey, and Iran -- adding about an hour of flight time.

Love how Singapore simply eliminated monkey class on this ultra-long haul... presumably for the fear of people running amuck or getting ill. :-D

except that this premium monkey class is literally the exact same as the monkey class on any other airlines.

really looks nothing special. the only good part of this flight is that you got that extra space at the back (the flight probably only have 6 such seats). the rest is just regular economy class offering, the food is also terrible for such a long flight and definitely THE WORST premium economy class offering ever on any airline.
