Love the harvest! We are fighting the "roof rats" for our tomatoes in Arizona. Our "season" is only a few weeks long - so every loss is taken personally.
Well, you GO GIRL!! Congrats to Greg and Pop too! I have harvested 3 pounds of tomatoes- maybe.🤔😆 Haven't canned a thing, because what we are getting is enough to eat. That might seem disappointing, and it is, except. I have not had to buy and veggies. So, yeah, I AM grateful for that. I do have 3 plants in the front that are starting to get loaded. VERY happy about them. They were extra's and they are doing the best of all of them. NOT going to sweat the small stuff because I am getting groceries from my yard.😁😁
@ntxg this year has been a poor squash year. My plants have been the largest I think I have ever grown, little disease. What I believe has been the missing link, and I can't believe I'm saying this- missing bugs. I have seen maybe 2 or 3 bees. It's so dry here, they aren't traveling to gather pollen. Bees need a ton of food. And if they can't get rehydrated on their gathering mission, they won't make it back to the hive.
Im green with envy. Planted 55 plants. I think I have, not kidding, less than 10 tomatoes. 😞 I put shade cloth over both rows last week. My green beans are on third picking. My peppers look great, sweet potatoes look great, pulled garlic. It’s curing. My tomatoes started dropping blooms. I fertilize, haven’t had to water a lot because of all the rain. 🤷♀️ started my tomatoes in January. Beautiful starts. Nice healthy stalks. Next year I’m only doing determinate. I’m about 100 miles north of you. No high tunnel. Nice compost I’m at a loss friend. Guess I need to come down and see you. Buy fifty pounds to can. I don’t consider myself a true gardener until I can grow tomatoes. 900 pounds. I definitely need a BLT. Oh forgot to mention I had pollinated every open bloom and then gently tickle as I walk by each day.
I have to wear my light winter coat here in Michigan. It’s cold! 62, windy as heck and I grabbed my coat. I’m not the only one either. Went shopping and saw many people bundled up….shorts on, but wearing coats!! lol…
WOW Jill. Congrats on all the harvest. The hail storms have had up her in north Texas have really taken a toll on my tomatoes and peppers. I hope they come back. I was sick to my stomach at how many green fruits I had to pull and just trash because of the damage. :( I pray we are over all these dang hail storms. I have a plan in place for next year to prevent this from happening again tho.
❤ oh how I wish we could get some rain. We've been struggling lack of rain😢... Course, I better be careful what I wish for, we certainly don't want any major storms here in Florida...
If only we could get the rain fall here in north Florida all over. We get scattered showers, and they are hardly in my area.I need some soaking rain for my crops. The water from the faucet is crap.I believe if we could get a couple of days of soaking my crops will give abundantly also.I am getting a harvest but it's better with God's rain.😅
Holy moly!! Look at all those tomatoes!! All that rain has been great for them. What a blessing!! Wowzer Jill, I’m happy for you ❤
😘
Beautiful veggies and herbs, thanks for the update. So glad you survived those crazy storms.
I can't wait until my tomatoes come in. Have a blessed day my dear ❤

I know about not sweating the small stuff. Tomatos is about all we’ve gotten. A few squash, but nothing else oh wait two cucumbers.

It’s the weather! Hold out !
Those are beautiful! Can't wait for ours to start producing!
What Is the "marshmallow" I'm sure I spelled it wrong. You mentioned it's good for colds. Thanks!
Medicinal herb for respiratory and gut!
@@ntxg What seed company do you order it from?

Me too, Angela! Tom Tomatoes are about all we’ve gotten. The other stuff I’ve gotten a couple but not much. I’ll just be thankful for the Tomatos.
Looks good - I'm jealous - we haven't gotten anything in harvest from ours yet. They are all still green.

@@ntxg Thank you 😊
How do you keep the mosquitoes out of your garden they're eating me alive
Me too
I keep seeing people swearing by vanilla to keep the skeeters away. ?
Just a second…..let me grab a salad shaker!
Yummmmm
Nothing like fresh from the garden tomatoes! Absolutely beautiful! How is the back acre doing?
Finally getting enough to eat
What part of north Texas do you live?
We can still plant squash and green beans?
Yep
Rats destroyed my tomatoes so far sis.
Oh no Alan!!!😫
Rats and mice are the reason I don’t have a garden this year.
Oh my goodness! They ate it all? Oh man…I’d be pi$$ed!!
