Hey Bro - I just ordered my Spare Time Hobbies based on your build! Planning on using primarily Capra parts, but going with SCX/AX style trans. Love your build man.
@@ExocagedRC Yep, that's the plan. Going to try and keep this thing really light, add weight where it counts, no dig, possibly 4WS. Going back and forth on brushed vs brushless for this rig. After years of going brushless, I recently put a totally dialed brushed system back in to one of my rigs and it made me fall in love all over again with brushed set ups. (HW1080 paired with a HH Crawlmaster 13T). I'm leaning brushed for this rig tho and if so, I'd do another 1080ESC, but plan would be to to the HH 550 CrawlMaster 10T. I also looked at getting the Capra parts I'll need a la carte, but the math is such that it makes more sense to just by another Capra kit. I figure I get the complete axles, shocks, links, and even an interior that I can use for the Creep body. Plus, anything left over I can use as spares for my current Capra. Winning! LOL. Anyways, appreciate your vids and info! Thanks!
Mike Walsham I agree. Best to just buy the whole kit, it’s what I did. I like the Capra trans in mine as I like the dig feature. Also I feel the same way, I’ve recently got back into brushed stuff and it’s nice when it’s setup well and that 10t Crawlmaster is an epicly awesome motor for sure.
I love my crawlmaster pro 12t + 1080 in my trx-4. But, I've never used the axe system. If light weight is a concern I just got a set of all plastic axial beadlocks and so far I'm really liking not having that rotational mass. Looking forward to seeing how the build goes.
Awesome video. Holmes motor would be perfect for this. I run a mamba x micro with holmes 1800kv revolver in my capra. The weight savings over any esc and motor is about 70-80 grams. Can't wait to see this coming together. Cheers
Maybe throw a little bit of red in with the blue and silver for Optimus 3. Anyway cool build. Must be one hell of a schedule to put up content everyday, but I appreciate it and watch every day. I don't have enough experience with different crawler motors to suggest 1.
yeah a little red would be nice on this one, I work 10-12hrs a day, but on 2 events a month and right now my hours of work put me dark to dark, when I do get an hr or two of daylight I'm running trying to get as many as I can for the next week.
I’ve got that CM 10t motor & I think it’s to fast for comp. I’d use a 12t CM for more control for comps. This is why it’s sitting with only 60 minutes use on it.
I have the V1W M2 builders chassis and the V1W M2 Optimus 3 parts with the flat Capra skid and I have no idea what I’m doing. Need a video on the chassis build. Please help! Thanks in advance.
I wonder how the holmes hobby Devolver 540 1800kv would do in your rig? Or maybe a smaller out runner? This new build is going to be extremely light right? Maybe the lightest motor of holmes hobby could be great?
Daniel Konrad I’ve got the 2700 in the Trx6. If I go with an axe I’d probably just go with the 2300 for less weight. For some reason I’m kinda considering a 1080 esc and a Crawlmaster Pro 540 13t motor. Don’t know why I’m even thinking of going brushed with this one.
You have me intrested in this chassis kit for a project.. it looks pretty slick. I've used Adam's print designs and they are awesome. You definitely have a power system dilemma 50/50 choice? Tough call. Have you changed the servo mount in the Capra? Just noticed it was pretty flimsy when I built mine but definitely think I'll give that Reef's or similar power a go if you're not having any disengage issue's. Looking forward to this build with interest and always enjoy anything you upload. Cheers mate 👍
That's what hobby knives and dremels are made for! LMAO. Seriously tho, i think with the way the back end of the Creep body breaks, you'd easily be able to get away with running it on a longer than intended wheelbase.
Zachary camaj torque mostly. Longer armature just produces more of it. Also maybe run a little cooler since it’s not working as hard as a smaller motor
planning to stay with a 1500 mah 3s on it, which may cause efficiency issues with the OD gears, not sure just yet on that. I like the revolver but until we get a higher PWM esc so it runs silent I won't run one.
I run this set up on my TRX Sport. It is insanely awesome. The low speed resolution is epic, and on 4S with the 1800kv HH Revolver, there is wheelspeed galore and gobs of torque. I considered going this route on the STH Chassis I just picked up, but the Mamba X is a fairly large, heavy ESC. I'm attempting to build this Spare Time Hobbies chassis as light as possible for Comps, with weight added only where needed as I begin to tune.
Pulled the trigger and ordered me the chassis and I'm printing my own parts. Going to be trx4 based like Optimus 2 excited for the build to come.
Maybe the casting crew for transformers watches your channel and you'll get a voice part in their next movie Joe? "HEY OPTIMUS,... TAKE A LOOK.!" 😁
😂😂😂

Cool man that trans will get you geared way down for some serious crawling.

these 2.2 wheels are really light so I may need some brass on the portal covers, not sure yet and yes less wheel mass is a great thing IMO
Hey man for power, I think definitely go for a brushed system, lots of people will want to see what that’s like as lots of people use brushed too.
Also did you say you run a 550 in a Capra ? Also isn’t a 10t motor too fast and has not much torque? I’m not too knowledgeable about motors so thanns
The 10t is a 5slot motor so it’s about the same as a 21t titan on rpms but insane torque.
Great video man! Looking forward to the final product. Keep up the good work!
The 10 turn s holmes crawler pro would be my choice for sure. Great. Video and can't wait to see the finished product in action.👍

1800 stubby lol
1800 stubby lol 2-4s fun buggy
Will those LANDMINES work on the TRX-6? My concern is back on the intermediate & rear axles... and since you have both... 😁😁🇺🇸
With the Capra OD ring and pinion and TGH OD portal gears, you will be right around 40% overdrive.
550 Axe system... ALL DAY!

Try out the proline scaler shocks. I have a set on my trx4 and they are awesome. Super soft and smooth and the truck flexes amazingly
Awesome man, I look forward to seeing as build and how the rig performs when you're done. Thoroughly enjoy your videos keep up the good work
ROC412 is retarded, but I loved mine when I had it !
Either way you go this truck is going to be killer !!! 👍😁👍
Cool rig as usual!!!! Time to build a Megatron rig!!!!
Juan Diego Serna I’ve thought about that. Not sure what to build that off of.
@@ExocagedRC Something big like an XMAXX!!!!

Very cool

Philou Félin this one should be well under 6lbs when done. Not really planning on brass but if I do it will be at the covers.
planning to get rid of the Capra cage from that kit?
Damn, you are pumping out those awesome cars. How many do you have? Well, not enough i guess, but shurely many? Haha.
Daniel Konrad I don’t know. I need to do a count of them. I was over 30 last I checked about a year ago.
@@ExocagedRC give this one the axe 2700! You really need it. You only dont know it yet.

Still running stock mounts on the Capra they flex a bit but no issues yet.
so the creep body and wheels as exposed as they are will pass class ii specs?
Do you think the creep would fit a Gen7? I want to get a smaller body and I like it. But i don’t know if the frame rails are too long?
coltn2k then Gen7 has a 12.5” wheelbase if I remember right. I’m sure you could make it work.

Holmes hobby all the way
Also print job looks great, what's the difference between a 540and 550motor other then size

Nice rig I love it 😆👍
I'm loving my 1800kv Revolver by Holmes w/ SW4 atleast until I put a Mamba X with it lol
Hey Joe, for really nice detail work for window trim, buy yourself a liquid chrome pen! ~;+}>
Just impulse bought this chassis. I'm not a fan of the capra cage
Brushed Holmes
Go brushed. Holmes torquemaster expert 550.
What about a revolver motor on 4s with the mamba x

Zachary camaj LoL you gotta have the record for 1sts here.
@@ExocagedRC I get out of work right when you upload so it's perfect lol
No... Just Say No to Cappra videos!
