This scene is mostly consistent with the consensus among historians, although there are some minor errors and some of it is going to be misleading without the context explained. English government records and eyewitness accounts show that the tribunal was delegated by the English government to convict her on what the eyewitnesses said were deliberately false charges. The judge, Pierre Cauchon, had served as an advisor for the English occupation government for over a decade before the trial, and many of the other tribunal members later accused him of corrupting the trial and falsifying the transcript on important points. The movie doesn't explain this clearly, made worse by the fact that so much of the script is based on what the transcript claims. On another topic, the reason Joan's hair looks shaved is because the tribunal had it shaved off as was the common practice before execution.

"Who is she that looketh forth as the morning, fair as the moon, clear as the sun, and terrible as an army with banners?" -- Song of Songs 6:10 KJV. "a crown of 12 stars is upon her head." -- Revelation 12.
That remind me with Age Of Empires 2

@@sanjanakhade1881 You ditz. He's referring to Jean Seberg.

THANKS TO HER WOMAN CAN DO ANYTHING :D
Is it strange that I cry when Toothless leaves Hiccup in HTTYD3, but I don’t cry at this? It just makes me disappointed
Saint but had been burned by Christian Church why
Nope, burned by local clerics but declared a saint by the whole Church.
Deal with it.
knight templar?
Another tragedy caused by the world
Only God can give or take lives or judge our actions upon this earth

Any reason this film is remembered so poorly? Jean was chosen from thousands of actresses who tried to get the part and this effectively ended her career.
How did it end her career?
@@meetmeatmidnight8520 she was actually partially burned when filming, later in 1978 she died under mysterious circumstances at age 40, many people claim that she died of suicide.
@@karenstrong6734 oh no.....she was a great actor
Uh...no. I'll give you that she wasn't;t fully appreciated during her active years but she worked in American and French films for the next decade: Breathless; Bonjour Tristesse; Let No Man Write My Epitaph; The Mouse That Roared; A Fine Madness; Paint Your Wagon; Airport etc.
Just like they did Jesus .She died for others ❤ n them she saved took her life sad n called her a witch just cuz God gave her a purpose to save souls n more souls in that time . Politics from that time was certain challenges of history war n threats powerful And her spirit lives on ❤
That's why I don't believe in churches. Only in God

Joan Of Arc was born on Rosh Chodesh Jan 1 1412, Tevet 1 5172 (6’th Day Of Chanukah) & Was Martyred on Jerusalem Day May 30, 1431 & Iyar 28 5191 (6 Day War, Opposed To The 100 Year War) 🤯 ~(According To The True Messianic Calendar, NOT The Jewish Civil Calendar)~
It was a unjust trial that happened to st. Joan...very sad and unfair
Nahh, the Black King will save and offer her a new life with super flame power then he will bring her to the other world where she met and fight with Toyohisa Shimazu but got beat the crap out by him.
What's your dp from?
The Pope apologizes after an execution of these are not forgiveness to the holy church was cruel, even more with a young warrior.
This is how evil people can be
Seberg was brutalized in this scene.

She burned up real good.
Her murderers made her one of their "saints," 500 years later without her consent - then they profit off her for the rest of eternity. They've done that with their victims for centuries. It's soooo f-ing twisted. Who are the real witches? They sure dress and act like it.
Absurd comment disconnected from history.
@@FREEMAN.... spoken like a true catholic, disconnected from reality
@@lazarus1672 Oh, I see, your problem is Catholics...too bad Joan of Arc was herself a devout one. Get over it.
@@lazarus1672 BTW, I reacted as a person who studied history and is very interested in Medieval times. I bet you cannot find Domremy on a map.
@@FREEMAN.... I don't need a map to find it, having been there. So why do you think she was canonized when she was? Why did they wait almost 500 years? The circumstances being what they were in France at the beginning of the 20th century had everything to do with it. And yes she was Christian, but of course had no love for those about to have her killed. The church tried to wash their hands of it like they do with everything including the rape of hundreds of thousands of kids at least over centuries and the cover ups. She wasn't stupid. She knew what was happening to her and who was ultimately responsible. For instance the pope could have saved her, he could have stopped it. Just like that. But he chose not to because she was too big a threat even to him - this teenage country girl favoured by God.
Criminali criminali
... the Crowd Scene is badly Directed. The famous 'Duke of Sax Meiningen Players' would have been Superb!
Jean Seberg seemed Excellent in the part: It was a Terrible Death & it seems that Joan's Final words were: 'JESUS JESUS'
