@@mghc7 You should revisit them, today. You might have a different perspective. Bozzio breaks down a lot of the stuff very well. For instance, when he talks about going through the accent sections of the Syncopation book & doubling-up the right hand with the right foot & left hand with the left foot. Or, the ostinato section where he shows how to go through the various permutations. Please give it another chance.

Thank You so much for uploading this. Haven't watched this tape in probably 20 years. I've still got it and will never part with it, but this is just an easier way to watch it. This was a huge part of my development as drummer and helped me transition into slightly more complex drumming, and not just 4/4. His kit is so badass. Pretty sure this is the same kit he used on the Who Made Who tour and Blow Up Your Video. And of course, love watching your bass playing! Must've been a blast to be there for those sessions.

@MrDBLSROCKS Holy crap man! I didn't realize that was you playing bass! Man, I'm definitely gonna check that out! I grew up in the late 70s and early 80s, but I really didn't develop a real appreciation to certain styles of music. I was into hard rock and metal, so me being the hard head and know it all, I thought everything else sucked. I was probably in my late 30s early 40s before I finally come to my senses. I played bass for about 3 years and it's one of my favorite instruments! If I had studied your work when I was younger, I could have possibly gotten somewhere! The way you and him work together is flat out like an engine. I think the gate keeper's held a lot of people back during those days. They all claimed they played it by heart and didn't know music theory, but I think for the most part, that wasn't true. I had never heard Dixie Dredge until I watched this video. Thank you so much for listening to my rambling and talking to me. It's truly been an honor to have someone on the level that you are have a conversation with me. I really do feel very fortunate!

Simon is a solid good drummer!!! The reason he left AC/DC is because he wanted to do a lot more fills and be more active on the songs. Although Angus and Malcolm could appreciate that, it wasn't what they ultimately wanted? They explained to him that AC/DC is a Guitar driven band. So what they really want out of an AC/DC drummer is the nice solid backseat, with just small fills here and there and cymbals used basically to help accent chorus and or on chords just to improve power. So, they all decided he would move on from the band. And who better to get back would be Phil Rudd, who is content with playing the way they want and need!

Vinnie would say, “shut your trap and learn from everyone”. His groove is great, technical no. Have you had the AC/DC gig before? Oh, no? This dude apparently did, so that’s saying learning your four on the floor grooves, and yeah seems easy just like shuffles are, but there not. Bro I get what your saying but there’s plenty more drummers especially beginners that are trying to lock this down rather than are at vinnies level to be able to sit down and cop vinnies thing. This is a different time like your eluding to but there’s plenty here to appreciate, especially young kids just as you were at one point trying to play back in black and that can be enough to hook ya to the drums and that’s what it’s about, getting people to play the drums and feel that thing you only know if your a drummer that’s put in enough time to be able to enjoy this to get to that next level. Cheers
