There are no words that can express how much this Transit System means to me personally. But those Legacy Fleets, those were the ones that started it all and the first to my introduction to BART back in 2009. Since then, it's been in my life one way or another ever since, and I'm proud to have stuck around during it's final years in service. You will be missed, Legacy Fleet. Thank you, BART. For everything. September 11th, 1972 - September 11th, 2023
Sad to see them go, riding the legacy fleet was my childhood nostalgia and i can never forget the times i took BART to many places riding this legacy fleet, 51 years of service and they have been a bay area commute boost
I was a bit surprised to see the update to the signs today but yes, I did manage to catch a legacy train last night just for old times sake. I'll miss these trains dearly
Farewell, indeed. September 11th, 1972 - September 11th, 2023 The last Legacy Fleet was served on the legendary Red Line Richmond Bound Train, before going out of service the last time.
A nice coincidence, but not totally intentional. If anything, both A cars were in sad condition - 1272 has bad decals and 1254 has a bit of a spongy floor
RIP Legacy fleet trains 1972-2023 I'll never forget them, so many years of nostalgia riding them to many places. I've been riding these trains my entire life. Bart will never be the same without the Legacy fleet trains 😢
They technically arnt being retired for another year, this is just the end of their service in regularly scheduled timetables. If a new train breaks down or they need more trains for an event they said they’d have some of these ready for use. Their official retirement and true last run will be in 2024
While it would have been nice to be on that final scheduled run, i rode the a legacy fleet earlier in the day (richmond line also) from Daly City to Embarcadero. Personally more meaningful. Colma and stations beyond colma didn’t exist when i started riding BART. Also my rides were generally from Daly City to a SF Station.
I wish I was there...technically I caught it but it was to Millbrae, not the last one to richmomd... I couldn't do it because I didn't wanna be home late..
Not all of them are gone. I ran into the Legacy Fleet trains that are filling in for the Fleet of the Future train that’s unable to run in scheduled service & ended up riding them more than 72 times so far after September 11 2023 Service Change.
Since the Legacy Fleet no longer serves any service (sadly & unfortunately), the Fleet of the Future has became the new default for BART. Honestly, I think it's good that we don't have it return back to how it used to be, with just say the Car # To hear George and Gracie say something new, it's pretty awesome in my opinion and a great replacement for the era we left from. And preserving an era that can no longer be touched again now that the Legacy Fleets have retired.
Goodbye A and B Cars. You will be missed along with the C1 and C2 Cars. (1972-2023). I'm going to miss hearing that loud whine sound and the loud buzzing sound everytime when I ride inside them. Now we only have the D & E Cars running in service and they have a higher pitch whining sound compared to the Rohr A and B cars.

@@PrimeR10I remember for my 6th birthday all I wanted to do was ride these things😔
@@KJW-Transit so true man
@@KJW-Transit but unfortunately we still had that bus bridge in effect between Union City & Fremont Stations
Lead car number 1272, "72" a nod to the year BART and the Legacy Fleet both began operations.

Im wondering where is zoho one???!
Even though they’re all gone now, we can cherish all the memories. Farewell legacy fleet👋🫡

The actual last run is on the 20th of April (this month) from MacArthur to Fremont

I mean good point, but it's like a 1 in a 1000 chance your gonna see it as it's their last run on normal services
Rip the nostalgia
Im doing a project about BART's Legacy fleet for hs btw
Hope to see it one day if you decide to upload it on RUclips.

Thats the last a car train that worked
I rode the Legacy Fleet for over 2 decades before I moved out of Northern California. Too bad the system turned into a mobile homeless shelter.
bye bye😢
I'm a newer BART rider so I have no nostalgia for the legacy trains, I greatly prefer the newer trains and will not be looking back.
