@ Oh I know those skins are there don’t get me wrong, but they’re not part of anything new that majority of people wait for in a weekly shop reset. I just found it funny that this specific shop rotation with what’s considered “new” is recolors in the start of the new year lmao
I think the devs aren't getting much resources from activision blizzard because I do not believe that they are blind to Marvel Rivals' success and that they aren't trying to kill the game. I think actiblizz is just not giving the blizzard devs the resources they needs.
marvel rivals already had all that shit ready to go before the game launched like how ow2 did when it first came out. id be surprised if they keep doing multiple heroes a season
OW will always be my favorite hero shooter, but damn, they really gotta start putting more money into the development team. These recolors and rehash of Lucio's emote are just sad given how much competition they have right now. Microsoft and Blizzard execs should be ashamed for gutting the development team so hard.

@@Cyberianlynx It depends. If you have the original and aren´t interest in the recolor, easy money saved. If you have the original (you most likely got for free in the past) but like the recolor way more it could be worth it. So far I only bought one recolor-Skin (from the Demon-Orisa-Skin) but because I really am more fond of the color-scheme the recolor had to offer.
I really wish the recolors were like Chromas in LoL, where you can own the base skin and then the recolors are just a small extra cost. Sort of like the gold recolors for mythic skins that they have now...

Game has regular $250 and even a $500 skin.... however i don't think OW in general is that bad compared to most other games I play. It gets a little too much hate. I am just hoping they reconsider the chromas in the future.
I only bought the mercy skin and the icon and banner for her, idgaf about anything else 😭 plus the Norse bundle is STILL there, it's been in shop week 1 of the season and then last week and this week.
So, the invisible woman and Mr. Fantastic come out Friday. I don't even play Rivals like that and that's way more exciting than the recolors. Paying full price for recolors is insane. They should at least let you buy them with legacy tokens or something.
I see it this way. Each season we get completly new skin designs but for every new skin to be unique they would need more time to make them in advance. The Recolors are easier to made but they can offer something else besides the brand-new skins. Sometimes you might see a recolor of a skin you really like and then you have times where you aren´t interested in all.
The important difference here is that MR just got released and therefore everything they offer is brand new and during their time of development had much time to make stuff in advance. OW also gave us brand new cosmetics in the BP and the shop but while preparing the next wave of skins they also do other work on the game so not every cosmetic can´t be brand-new. Kinda obvious if you think about it.
@ true MR is new. But let’s not forget OW2 was a shop update that comes with a game. Reselling recolors and Prisms being expensive. Still pretty bad. Also half ass’d highlight intros and other cosmetics have gone down in quality.

It´s not for everyone and I´m not gonna discuss the "quality" of those cosmetics because everyone has different standards of what´s "good".

If you buy a T-Shirt with a certain Logo and then see another T-Shirt in the shop which looks almost the same but you like it, too do you think the shop owner would just give it to you for free because you own another version of it? @@93Chowo it doesn't work like that, because the skin doesn't have new rigging, nor effects, nor 3Dmodels, the only thing that changes is the texture, so you can't compare that to tshirts. they have sold skins for 32 bucks, and texture is arguably only 1/4 of the work that a skin requires, so recolors should be only 8 bucks, but greedy blizzard doesnt think that way, they want to charge you full price for work that is already done and recycled. and if a recolor is ugly, yes, absolutely nobody will grind for it, but if the recolor is better than the original for the player, that player will be farming, will be playing the game. at the end of the day blizzard became way too greedy thinking that nobody can replace them, and we will see now.

I would like to ask if you´re not interested in Recolored skins why even complain about the price? They make them which doesn´t mean you have to get it and if you really like a skin, as I said before, you see it worth the full price no matter if you have the original skin or not. If the skins are good or bad is simply personal preference even if the method of creating those skins is considered lazy. I made the the T-Shirt comparison because that´s how it is with things - even if they´re mostly similar you can´t expect to get everything for cheapier or free because of that. At the end of the day you can play the game just fine without getting any cosmetics and I´m sure there are people who actually do it and if players like to spend their money on things they like that´s alright, too.

You focus too much on the monetization part of the game and what mistakes Blizzard did with the game. If you´re still playing the game then I would like to know what´s your reason? I was excited for PvE, too but if it´s not coming well too bad but was it the only thing which kept me playing OW, no it wasn´t. They still introduce new interesting heroes to play now and then make a new gamemode which potentially could hint on something they are working on in the background and I can continue play the heroes I like as each season they introduce new balance-changes and sometimes reworks to exsiting things so that the game can doesn´t become stale. You can say that I have low standards but believe me I rather have that and be entertained by the small things then to always have high expectations and to be dissapointed if it doesn´t turn out as I want it to be like how you can unlock stuff in OW.
I know that Echo and Lucio have an interaction where Echo talks about how much fun she has analyzing his music. Plus she has sprays which show her hobbies like cooking so I would say her having a music-related emote isn´t so random at all.

See, to me those look really incredible and I love them! I have the originals, and while the models are great, I was never big on their colour schemes. These though are right up my ally as colour schemes and I want them.... but that price tag though? Imma be honest, I own literally everything on Dva and ONLY buy the recolors to keep owning everything and I’m getting sick of the recolors. I’d rather pay $20 for a new skin smfh. I’d rather NOT pay $20 for a skin period but whatever.
We’ve gotten less content in a YEAR than Rivals has in ONE season and any content we do get is recycled in Overwatch… I’m tired of the developers trying to milk us for every penny. At least in Marvel rivals, I can actually earn coins throughm challenges to buy skins for FREE. Quickplay has become extremely sweaty due to SBMM, ranked is broken, the developers barely communicate with us, they’ve lost our trust due to promising features that never come such as PVE, and the OW storyline is pretty much non existent now. Rivals took what Overwatch was doing and improved on it in so many ways: battlepasses no longer expire, team ups with different characters, destructible environments, earnable items, and that’s not even mentioning how communicative their development team is. We literally get FREE coins to buy skins from doing surveys to make the game better.

Because blizzard is only in it for money now. And don't care. A recolor in marvel rivals is literally 5 dollars max. A legendary skin that changes everything is 15$ and you get a mvp, emote, spray, icon emblems and a calling card. That's the difference and it's really sad coming from someone who has loved overwatch for 8 years
