Canon Deaths are a big part of the Dream SMP. But who has caused the most canon deaths? In other words, who has the most canon kills on the Dream SMP server. From Ph1lza, Technoblade, Wilbur Soot, TommyInnit and Tubbo, to Sapnap, Karl Jacobs, Quackity and BadBoyHalo.

a few days ago (idk when exactly) he logged on and fell through the map (which could be equated to going to the afterlife) and he relogged and was fine (which could be equated to him coming back to life)
conclusion: Jack Manifold is canonically not able to ACTUALLY die
Just cause they die in the game, it doesn’t make it a canon death.

I believe Canon deaths are killing with out reson, and sapnap hap a reson to kill him, and so did tommy, but tommy did nothing to badboyhalo, or others that joined the Fight, so they did not get a Canon death, right? And that’s why, with the egg, it’s 40 or more canon deaths because there killing with reson.

I want to assume Sapnap got a death counter because he was the “general.” He was basically the leader of that group that attacked Tommy, Technoblade and Dream, so he was dubbed the “general” and therefore only his death counts. I feel this makes the most sense as to why he got a canon life subtracted

I feel its just arbitrary, theres no clear way of defining by ourselves what constitutes a canon death, besides plot relevancy, and this one is flawed too. I mean, why tubbo and tommy didnt die during the end of lmanberg? Why did jack lose a life to tommy spleefing him? Id say its arbitrary to wilbur.

Scripted deaths count, and certain non-scripted deaths that the members feel are worth being canon.

@@tokinho_qwerty Non-scripted doesn't mean non-canon, but as a rule of thumb, all scripted deaths are canon, MOST non-scripted deaths are not. There are some exceptions, but even those are highly susceptible to being retconned. For example, Wilbur confirmed Schlatt's second death was not scripted and so it being canon is questionable.
Edit:My example just got confirmed to be definite canon with Glatt(Jschlatt's ghost name) having made an appearance in canon during an attempt to revive Ghostbur. Example still stands though.

It does make sense, the dream smp has like, thousands of hours of footage from streams up to eight hours from like 30 different perspectives while movies only have one to three hours to cram in all their lore.

During the last festival there was talk of resurrection, I dont know if that's canon but it sounds like it.
They tried it went....well...we'll see how the third attempt goes and if cannon lives apply to ghosts (or if he drags out something else form the afterlife).

However apparently EVERYONE who died during Techno's massacre at the festival counted as a canon death. That could be false as it was stated by the wiki.
But if that's true than Techno has around a dozen canon kills.
i think if it was canon tommy tubbo and some people would be ghosts or out of the server so i doubt it was canon
the deaths at the most recent battle are not canon. otherwise, tommy and tubbo and i’m sure others would be dead by now
It doesn't count everyone's death as far as I know! Only the people who died during Tubbo's execution bit were counted as canon deaths (i.e Tubbo, Schlatt and Quackity). Others that were in the audience were not counted!
Fun fact, Schlatt and Quackity were not supposed to have died at the execution. That was unintended but got kept as canon anyway.

despite having one life left, schlatt stays within the realm of the dead as he was killed due to his own bad health (dying of a stroke). This abnormal death for the dream SMP most likely presents Schlatt to remain in the realm of the dead, something of which he chooses, as we hear when Wilbur is trying to be resurrected.
Wilbur sees two people when entering and exiting the physical realm of the dream SMP, these two people are: 1) obviously schlatt 2) the second is contested between the actual Wilbur or Mexican dream. either way, these two people represent the realm of the dead. When schlatt comes back in ghostbur's body he mentions that he doesn't want to come back, thus choosing to remain in the real of the dead. this is most likely a response to mat pat's theory: schlat could come back but chooses not to, and rather than him, Wilbur will take the role that would have been Schlatt's in MatPat's theory.

I'm quite confused since technically techno killed Tubbo twice, one from schlatt's command and the other shortly after Tubbo became president (though I'm not quite sure about this part, but I regard this as possibly cannon because it is mentioned a lot). Add that to his other death from the final control room he supposedly have three cannon deaths.
just because you die in the smp, doesn't mean you lose a canon life. a canon death is a death that relates to the plot and the story, otherwise the whole smp would be gone at the amount of kills technoblade got at the festival. tubbo and tommy would definitely be gone, and many others too.

Yeah, they're probably setting the canon deaths as deaths that are either important to the storyline, or an interesting addition; it seems to be what makes the most sense considering the lack of rules and any other form of consistency

EDIT: So basically, if someone wants Techoblade with 2 cannon lives, just make an redstone traps for him. My recommendation is either a pit of quicksand + creepers, or isolating him in the middle of a Void hole.
