Interesting If the show went the whole eugenics route, back to Margaret singer and stuff.. Seeing the nazis as failed options.. Bringing up how they were beat in the Olympics, and maybe do some creepy, "hybrid vigor" stuff.. That would be scary, someone who sees the nazis as Just a step.. super heros as pawns..
@ToyinJryou guys havent watched the show bruh, he always fails den sages plan saves him MULTIPLE TIMES then when sage said you cant do the same thing twice DEN MARIE EVOLVED yall watch with your ears plugged or sumn
@ToyinJrspeaking from experience not necessarily powers but more of being financially successful at a very young age. I still am lol ego plays a big role I can’t imagine what that level of power will do to your brain One can argue that he tried to prove to him self that his better then sage and let’s not forget that he is still a racist he admitted to being annoyed by sage that’s she’s always right when he was healed so I disagree he just let his ego and emotions get in the way
I have no idea why people are guessing that Godolkin transferred his mind at the end? If he could do that then he would never have needed to have his body healed in the first place. His powers are tied to the physical compound V in his blood. That's like destroying a router and expecting the wifi to work.
Yeah he still needs his original body cause v is what is giving him those powers in the first place plus he just takes over the persons body, not replaces it with his own
Maybe because the whole The boys universe is meant to be a parody of regular comics and superhero adaptations, them following and taking direct inspiration from a lot of them, that when they don't follow same argumental paths it only feels weird.
@edw7790 But again this is the boys; you should learn to never expect a shit ton from one-off side characters adapted to the live action. In the comics he (John godolkin) was a powerless super egotistical, groomer pedofile who brainwashed kids into becoming his G-Men (a super hero team) after getting to acquire Compound V and made a deal with Vought-American. He was later killed by Vought after they realized he was going in over his head. This all happens in the 4th book, so its very early on the comics, he doesn't have a lasting legacy or impact. He wasn't going to get much screen time in TV franchise by default. (Also don't forget that this "cool character" was also a nazi sooooo....)
I don’t think it helped having an actor as powerful as Hamish Linklater play Cipher the whole season only for him to be replaced in the finale by that other actor who doesnt even have remotely the same heft, he came across as kind of ridiculous, I know it was supposed to be this big rug pull but while everyone was picking up on cipher being a puppet I was hoping that wasn’t the case purely because the actor was so magnetic
I feel like the blame should go to the directors, they genuinely feel like 2 different characters, they don’t even have the same mannerisms. At first I thought maybe godolkin gets some of the persons he’s controlling personality, but when he took over Marie he was still acting like himself
Feels kinda underwhelming ngl, expected Godolkin to have a much bigger impact that would carry on to S5 of The Boys. It would’ve been much better for the plot moving forward if Godolkin were to cooperate with Sage’s plans and collaborate with Homelander
It would’ve made it too easy he can control multiple superheroes at the same time. He could literally control Homelander at that point….would’ve been way too easy.
It was anticlimactic! The fight against Godolkin couldve been a whole season. Doug would be a valuable source of information. Instead everything fizzled out in 30 min.
@UliaSamsonovafr, it would just be even more filler to make up 15 eps. This whole season could have been done in 5 eps. It wasn't a great season just ok
It already felt so stretched with Episodes 7 and 8. Honestly they should've just been compressed into one. Take out the useless conversations and dick jokes and boom, one episode instead of 2
sister sage was sad that the love that she found turn out to be point less that's why she asked polarity why would he put his self in a position where he has people around him who he loves but then they ultimately died. She basically started being back fully focused on the plan because her little happiness was gone you can really tell she loved godolkin the way she was shy/ nervous to ask him to move in. he even pointed it out that she became vulnerable
To be fair it’s a bridge context show so it’s more to help with what’s going on on the background of the boys since season 1 took place between season 3 and 4. You can actually see what’s going on at godolkin in news reels in season 3 since apparently the woods breakout happened around season 3 and flipped happened around the beginning of season 4 since you hear ads for it in the background
@ProximaBlue22You mean the hypocrite Mary Sue? Yeah, fans don’t like her. Remember when she dangled Cate’s powers over her head because she “didn’t trust her” because she used her powers against her friends. Then Sanctimony Sally uses her blood bending to keep all of her friends away from her while she betrayed their plan and faced the enemy herself. It’s all horrible writing.
@barricusbear6769 you’re talking to the wrong person with this propaganda bs lol. Please explain how Marie is “Mary Sue”? She’s powerful but not even good with her powers yet. You just can’t stand a biracial female character having top tier abilities. Just like you crying saying Kripke won’t make a blonde hair blued white guy a good supe. 😂😂😂
Goldokin hate others for their own weakenss but he him self died because of his ego and rushing things. Once he was healed he stop anticpating and planing thinking he could not be stopped.
Episode kinda felt lackluster, so much build up for the character to die that easily, Annabeth’s vision was bs, Godolkin revealing he’s alive was treated as if not that big of a deal, there were no twists and it just morphed into a convenient ending, idk Godolkin seems like a ridiculous villain now.
shit was kinda rushed for sure, they shouldve introduced Godolkin as the villain like around episode 4 or 5 so they could have more time to develop his plot, but again i guess Godolkin aint shit as compared to Marie and was probably introduced solely for the purpose of upgrading Marie's power, so he wasnt really like a final boss typa villain.
I gotta disagree cipher and godolkin were built up the whole season it just feels weird because hamish isn’t acting for cipher anymore but it’s been godolkin the whole time lol
I disagree when you live in the world where superheroes exist nothing really should surprise you .. Annabeth vision did happen she only seen a snippet .. plus Godolkin in general was used as build up for Marie to take on Homelander
I’m really weirded out by godolkins skin bubbling the harder he pushed his powers. Maybe Marie’s healing is only temporary. Sage giving a very grim premonition to Polarity. Marie’s sister technically died. Just spitballing
No the scars on the skin is just side effects of his powers, you can see those scars right after he injected himself with V in the flashback even before he got burnt, Marie did a great job with healing Polarity as he's not showing any side effects afterwards.
That would honestly be a really cool storyline, especially considering all the people that she healed. Imagine Cate slipping back after thinking she was set back to normal.
@raymondqiu8202 it’s a euphemism, this season felt pretty rushed (which is due in part to the actor who played andre dying in real life RIP) unfortunately they had to rewrite most of the story in a short time so the season’s pacing definitely suffers for it, leading to people saying this season felt like something you skim through, like an email
Honestly for me he put this season on his back and carried it, I was not a fan of this season but loved his part. His acting was so charismatic and hypnotizing, I couldn't look away and felt on the edge of my seat even during simple dialogue scenes with him
Sage truly cared about Godolkin, she became vulnerable and he says that to her in that scene. But after she realizes its all over , she explains to polarity that when a person has nothing to lose they become their strongest, So she is back to focusing on the plan. I just wish Godolkin didn't get taken out so soon, he was a God tier supe.
She just liked him because she thought he was powerful...she sure turned on him quickly. If you love someone, you do not try to kill them. She is a mess.
@Emma.E.Emerson it wasn't that she turned on him. She saw that he was now gonna be in his own way just like Homelander. For example when he was crippled and burnt up he was more focused and strategic and patient and could also be consulted, but after he got healed up to perfection, he let his ego rule him , and she saw that. She aint the smartest person in the world for nothing.
@KJT_Iz_EternalShe still got him killed quick enough. He turned out not to want the same things as her....so kill him??? I was glad she did....but love means just letting a person go...not get them killed. She was not being noble to try to save lives, she had no conscience for others. ..Nope, two sociopaths using each other for their own gains and needs. He would have turned on her, too.
they healed kate only for her to play NO major role in the final episode?? when godolkin was being controlled by the girl with the tail, couldnt she step in and order him to sleep or some shit??????
Yea I thought the same, she could just make him k*ll himself during those 60 seconds if the butt guy carried a gun or sword with him. Also, if "hands do nothing" how did the hair girl stop him from controlling her and the gang once they popped out of the butt? Also, Polarity could stop the mind control BUT when he used it a few episodes ago, Doug was still fully under his control, only Polarity got out?
@iHerc i think they used aly (the hair girl) perfectly more as a distraction than an actual way to stop him so godolkin didnt have time to react before harper could touch him, technically doug was the body controlling polarity that time so when he blasted doug out the window, polarity only removed himself from the equation, doug was still being controlled. as for cate not using her powers against godolkin.. idk that one maybe she was too far away across the room or something idk
@desktopsa2bceo124 I was talking about the chameleon girl controlling him. Since she DID gain control of his body, she (all of them) had 60 seconds to off him
@iHerc yea she's called harper, but i wonder if he dies during that power switch harper would die too, as a consequence for her power because she'd be too overpowered if it didn't have that, and her tail but that's not really a bad side effect. she looks cute with it.
It’s funny because they used Cate as an example and Marie dangled her powers over her head because of her using her powers against her friends. She then sides with Cate and uses her powers against her friends to prevent them from stopping her stupid plan. It’s like they want to write poorly.
@fpl_djhammerThe scene where they all came out of the dude’s ass and fought the mind controlled dudes actually annoyed me so badly bro it was genuinely just the power of friendship
I genuinely thought Godolkin would control Harper and use her and her mimic'd power to control Marie. Maybe when he pushes past his limits, have the boils and blisters show up on her and kill her if he pushes too far, before they start to affect himself.
He's was too "high" off of the feeling of finally being able to be alive in his own body again. He should've listened to Sage but instead he went on a power trip. Guess all that time pretending to be Cipher and "leveling up" others went to his head
so bro gets trapped in his own body for like 60 years, in crippling pain and manages to build a whole ass school and marie sue (golden pun) project so that he can heal himself, and he fucks it up in 1 day?!
Coz the last few episodes have been slow and had some filler content. Then they just crammed a lot of stuff into the finale. But it was kinda lazy writing all season, not any big twists or anything out the ordinary happen. It was meh
No big vision . They likely start with an interesting idea, arc or pitch, but have no follow through to see where it goes . They realise that they have to wrap everything up after all the plots they opened, and need a quick way to do it
Coz these aren't best selling novels which actually have good writers behind there ideas and critics that critique them and become best selling because they are good. These tv shows might have a good concept and make for a good season 1 but then they try to milk it for more but don't have any good ideas anymore so it becomes just dragged out
Another thing to consider regarding Godolkin's choices: this is the first time he's been at full health with his powers since he got them. It makes sense to me that going from thirty years of clinging to life to full strength would make certain people high on their own fumes, especially with what he was able to accomplish being weak and near-dead.
Everyone keeps talking about how lackluster it is that Godolkin dies in this episode, but it's pretty obvious he was never going to be anything major, just a stepping stone for Marie’s power-up. Season 1 was the same with Indira. I reckon this was the case since Polarity could counter his power in episode 6 and was fully healed by episode 7. He was also relatively weak compared to Marie. Godolkin never really stood a chance against all of them
Relatively weak?? He is literally almost like professor X and has telepathy similar powers and can control nearly anyone. The writing failed him. There's gotta be more character development for someone who is the founder of the important Godolkin University. Like that founder visionary guy can't just die so easily like marie did to him
I have some insider info because my uncle actually works on the writing team for Gen V. Apparently, the reason why The Boys will take place 6 months after Gen V is because they want to give time for MM's beard to grow back
Stroh's Beer isn't from Germany, it's from Detroit. Sister Sage is always wearing Detroit related shirts. Even the pizza at the table is Detroit style pizza.
Sister sage was literally talking to herself when she was talking to Polarity. She is a nihilist, but she saw herself believing better future with godolkin. Now she has something to lose and weaker. While she actively cutting out Godolkin and asking did Polarity loved his family and reasoning behind it.
I am so glad that Greg isn't revealed as a bad guy! I've always thought he looked sweet haha. If Gen v get season 3, I would love to see how Emma's relationship plays out!
Last season of The Boys didn't do a great job with Sage but this amount of confusion over her powers is unexpected still. She is like a super computer but emotions are clearly a weakness for her as well as being physically weak and haying her powers. If she wanted she could likely create a version of compound V that gave her any power she wanted just like how she cured cancer.
Fr super intelligence as a power is an underrated OP power. Can literally help solve all problems imaginable to humans coz the brain can find solutions to human problems within the laws of physics
If godolken had killed literally anyone in that room while controlling marie....Marie would have broken out of his control and then killed him and have the vision play out with her in a pool of blood. Finally fixed. One small change would have made it more impactful
This whole Marie is Goldolken theory doesn’t make sense when you use what’s been told to us through the show. His powers work by effecting the neurons in the puppet’s brain. We learn this when Polarity does his EMP blast that breaks Goldolken’s connection with his victims. Unless one of his “power ups” was being able to transfer his consciousness to other people I’m sure he would have done this long ago to a supe and not Greg the VCR repairman and Blockbuster employee.
Wasn’t Godolkin in Doug’s body going to smash the original body with a fire extinguisher or something? Seems like he wouldn’t do that unless he can stay alive in Doug’s body
@AshishSingh-m7i4she was literally suicidal in that episode… I swear some of you people don’t even watch the show or something. He even said it’s over for crying out loud because he lost Marie and couldn’t control polarity. He was always going to die in the end and idk why people thought he was going to make it to the boys S5 😂. Homelander already has enough enemies as is.
They could have given us some of what they gave us in the last chapter drip, throughout the season, I don't know why they won't have done it that way. I think that's why we thought the episode was rushed
I think this whole season is setting up the fight between Marie and Homelander before he fights Butcher. She’s gonna weaken him before she dies so Butcher can fight him on equal ground.
@ProximaBlue22polarity literally told them not to plan on coming back to the school 😭 I feel like that was the writers saying that everything gets wrapped up in season 5
@fromdaniwluv Yeah, and im pretty sure "The Boys Mexico" and "Vought Rising" are prequels, so there will be no story that covers the future events of the universe after S5
i like the blood angel she did in the battle. since that is an execution move the vikings did. where theyd break the ribs on the back and pull out lungs to stretch out in the shape of angel wings. hence her wings look like lungs more than wings.
Wow you're really fast! Overall I liked the finale, though it felt underwhelming and rushed. I love how none of the main characters died, and how they integrated with Annie and A-train in the end. Black Noir was funny as always.
The fact that Godolkin ended up just being a way to show how "powerful" Marie is was so disappointing, and this feels like a useless season with so much waste
Boring ending.. was hoping major emotional deaths.. and the only cameo I liked was A-train and Black Nior.. sis Sage is always A+ but it was a rushed episode and killed him off easily. The vision Annabeth had dint even come to fruition.. only lookin forward to the boys finale but now i think HL will be offed so easily too
The guy that played “doug”, dude his character as cipher was so dope, by far one of the best villains ive ever seen on screen. Gadolkin himself was good but the actor for doug was just another level.
I enjoyed the season but this episode was so flawed. Deeply disappointing to see Goldolkin get clapped so quickly after the huge build up of him returning to his normal healthy body with badass powers.
*Pointless side note:* _I used to LOVE Blockbuster weekend trips. Going in there with my family to pick out a movie for the night, plus a video game rental for my PS2 or Xbox. Great times._
People also keep forgetting there are 4 Odessa subjects, HomeLander, Marie, AnnaBeth and Godolkin. Now that it has been revealed that TG injected himself, though I believe he was also inhaling the burning Compound V1. That's what it says on the door to the lab (Odessa), and I stand by that observation.
Yeah, Cate was kind of wasted in the finale… but oh well, she had her time in season 1. I’m just happy she’s alive though! More Maddie Phillips in season 5!
🙏🙏RIP DOUG🙏🙏 Thanks to everyone for checking out my breakdowns this season! New shows and videos coming out soon!
Hope you review pluribus when it comes out, seems like vince gilligan will drop a banger with that.
I really hope the Boys ends with Billy, and then we get a Gen V or other Continuation. The world is too fun
Isn't it weird that marie can heal godolkin but can't grow kate's blown up hand?
@Adithiyavikram Kate deserves to remain one handed. It’s a reminder to her of what she did and how many people she murdered
The actor playing Cipher stole every scene
💯💯
He really did
He was a great villain, hate he got his head popped so soon
That’s that broadway training
@soso694 Hamish who played the priest in Midnight Mass another great show that he stole every scene in
He's Broadway??
Honestly, all that setup for the guy to be killed in 30 seconds was like wtf?
Yeah.. I'm petty disappointed they offed him like that...
Imagine Godolkin still Controlling Mary and Carrying sage's plan to the starlighters
He didn't die... He is in Marie's head, will forever be there since his body is lost...
@biswajitnath804 Doubt that hard
We all know he like transfered his mind but i think he took polarity
Poor Doug :( he was so sweet
I wanted to see homelander show up a bit disappointed he didn’t.
Fr, he didn’t deserve to die
Same, poor Doug
@bryceBorno need, they have ya a little tickle, the last time they met, he locked her up, next time they'll meet he'll find out what that led to
If i were him i would run far away and sleep with as many men as possible for my remaining life.
I dont know why Goldokin thought he would ever have a better plan than Sage.
When power is the norm, ego is the answer would say Sage herself
They made him dumb all of a sudden.
Once Sage's plan worked, he was fully onboard with everything she was planning.
Up until the finale.
@ToyinJrHaving power like that got to his head it seems, he wanted to take over gah damn Homelander
@ToyinJryou guys havent watched the show bruh, he always fails den sages plan saves him MULTIPLE TIMES then when sage said you cant do the same thing twice DEN MARIE EVOLVED yall watch with your ears plugged or sumn

Everyone wants to add in a lil fan fic
Yeah he still needs his original body cause v is what is giving him those powers in the first place plus he just takes over the persons body, not replaces it with his own
I think that people are just disappointed that such a cool character (some sort of Professor Xavier with an Apocalypse mentality) died so soon.
Maybe because the whole The boys universe is meant to be a parody of regular comics and superhero adaptations, them following and taking direct inspiration from a lot of them, that when they don't follow same argumental paths it only feels weird.

Should’ve kept Hamish Linklater the real Godolkin or something
@pookie_wwwell either way Godolkin died so it’s all useless
Also if Spongebob was “acting” as Cipher the whole time we would’ve gotten 1 episode of Hamish which is more of a waste of his talent
Hopefully Hollywood saw Hamish performance and give him bigger roles.
I feel like the blame should go to the directors, they genuinely feel like 2 different characters, they don’t even have the same mannerisms. At first I thought maybe godolkin gets some of the persons he’s controlling personality, but when he took over Marie he was still acting like himself

Got to wonder if it was meant to be a 2 season story. Cipher / goldokin reveal at end of season.
I bet there likely would have been another season but the boys last season is too close and they just couldn’t fit it in
they were fighting godolkin the whole time, he was just in a diffrent body
@Ksa_jhyou know what they mean.
That shit was super anticlimactic lmao
very disjointed and rushed season after Chance passed. had to do rewrites most likely
@bibbs1998who’s Chance, brother?
@MaalyB26 Chance Perdomo the actor who played Andre
we didn't even get Godolkin interact with Homelander scene, we only got a call from Homelander this time around
That's why shows need 10-15 episodes AT MINIMUM
Why? It had nothing to tell in 8
@UliaSamsonovafr, it would just be even more filler to make up 15 eps. This whole season could have been done in 5 eps. It wasn't a great season just ok
It already felt so stretched with Episodes 7 and 8. Honestly they should've just been compressed into one.
Take out the useless conversations and dick jokes and boom, one episode instead of 2
This show was literally half filler in 8 episodes. 15 episodes don't make good writing
No it does not unless you have some odd knack for FILLER!
sister sage was sad that the love that she found turn out to be point less that's why she asked polarity why would he put his self in a position where he has people around him who he loves but then they ultimately died. She basically started being back fully focused on the plan because her little happiness was gone you can really tell she loved godolkin the way she was shy/ nervous to ask him to move in. he even pointed it out that she became vulnerable
Punctuation man, it exists for a reason
Even the most intelligent among us are poised by LOVE. So she has a weakness afterall.
I never get tired of black noir the orginal or the replacement.
Fun fact, it’s the original actor, just now he gets to have dialogue.
@decentralizedintelligencea4778 wait that's cool haha
I think black noir is so ahh, original or not, the only interesting part about him in the series is his animated flashback
@stinkydiaperstu talking shit about the goat?
The finale felt like "go girl give us nothing"
Still crying about Marie 😂😂😂😂
I mean I’m excited🤷🏽♂️ it was a great set up for the boys
To be fair it’s a bridge context show so it’s more to help with what’s going on on the background of the boys since season 1 took place between season 3 and 4. You can actually see what’s going on at godolkin in news reels in season 3 since apparently the woods breakout happened around season 3 and flipped happened around the beginning of season 4 since you hear ads for it in the background

I have to agree. They set godolkin up to feel like a bigger threat than he actually ended up being. I hope the boys season 5 isn’t more of the same
I disagree when you live in the world where superheroes exist nothing really should surprise you .. Annabeth vision did happen she only seen a snippet .. plus Godolkin in general was used as build up for Marie to take on Homelander
I don't think Gen V deserves a season 3 after wasting Cipher.
Cipher would make the storyline with Homelander bizarre, its best that he is gone, its easier for genv and the boys to overlap
@sabrinaa3478Inserting Marie and other Gen V characters into the Boys isn't a good decision anyway.
Agree
I’m really weirded out by godolkins skin bubbling the harder he pushed his powers. Maybe Marie’s healing is only temporary. Sage giving a very grim premonition to Polarity. Marie’s sister technically died. Just spitballing

@Sain_Walkeryeah polarity now he no longer has his tremors but once he overuses his powers again they will come back
Yes I saw it too. I think annebeth (the sister), polarity and Cate are in for a rude awakening when their scars return
@Sain_WalkerGodolkin controlled many supes at once. Also room after room of it. In other words, very intense usage.
That would honestly be a really cool storyline, especially considering all the people that she healed. Imagine Cate slipping back after thinking she was set back to normal.
whole season could've been an email
Hilarious. 🤭🤣
Thought I was the only one. I was so disappointed with the last 2 episodes
Wait can you explain what u mean? How would an email have told everything? Sorry I didn't understand
😅😅😅😅

MVP is Hamish Linklater, and it’s not even close
He is such a great actor
phenomenal performance as Cipher
wished they didn't treat the character like he was a WWE jobber in the final 😂
Honestly for me he put this season on his back and carried it, I was not a fan of this season but loved his part. His acting was so charismatic and hypnotizing, I couldn't look away and felt on the edge of my seat even during simple dialogue scenes with him
the episode released like 10 min ago big man
No it released 1 hour and 41 minutes ago
RUclipsrs get early access
@catofdeepblack He did exactly what the title says. And you clicked it.
Sage truly cared about Godolkin, she became vulnerable and he says that to her in that scene. But after she realizes its all over , she explains to polarity that when a person has nothing to lose they become their strongest, So she is back to focusing on the plan.
He would have turned on her, too.
homelander becomes human is best ending for him
No wtf
he would probably commit suicide
Becoming human and ultimately killed by butcher in the most gruesome way this would be the perfect end for him as he died a human
Avatar the last airbender ending 😂
homelander dying best ending
Rip Doug 😞😭
A Train and Starlight cameos were so cool. Theatre claps level.
Random opinion - SpongeBob was good but Hamish Linklater was another level
they healed kate only for her to play NO major role in the final episode?? when godolkin was being controlled by the girl with the tail, couldnt she step in and order him to sleep or some shit??????
Halfway through the episode it started feeling like the shit they made fun of in The boys.
pathetic writing of the villain's death tbh
they treated Cipher/Godolkin like he was the Night King 😭
@fpl_djhammerThe scene where they all came out of the dude’s ass and fought the mind controlled dudes actually annoyed me so badly bro it was genuinely just the power of friendship
@pepsimulator A-Train and Starlight showing up could've had the avengers theme song playing over it and I wouldn't have noticed anything was off
I genuinely thought Godolkin would control Harper and use her and her mimic'd power to control Marie. Maybe when he pushes past his limits, have the boils and blisters show up on her and kill her if he pushes too far, before they start to affect himself.
this episode was a big disapointment
No it wasn't.... Godolkn now possess Marie's body
@biswajitnath804 how so?
@biswajitnath804no he doesn’t lol
You got this out before it even came to my streaming platform
Godolkin spent so many years planning and rotting in his own body, only to be exploded days after his “resurrection”? 😂
He's was too "high" off of the feeling of finally being able to be alive in his own body again. He should've listened to Sage but instead he went on a power trip. Guess all that time pretending to be Cipher and "leveling up" others went to his head
@BladedShardFacts
Lazy writing
just terrific writing don't ya think?!
@BladedShard Or its just bad writing lol
so bro gets trapped in his own body for like 60 years, in crippling pain and manages to build a whole ass school and marie sue (golden pun) project so that he can heal himself, and he fucks it up in 1 day?!
Yes it's called hubris
This last episode felt so quick for some reason 🤦♂️
Coz the last few episodes have been slow and had some filler content. Then they just crammed a lot of stuff into the finale. But it was kinda lazy writing all season, not any big twists or anything out the ordinary happen. It was meh
@raymondqiu8202 true, I really liked s2 but S1 was much better because it had so much more suspense. Like at times I felt fear for the characters
agreed
Bc it was 35 mins and you have a really short attention span.
not for some reason
IT WAS
Gen V ended today, the main characters will now appear in the final season of The Boys.
why do all tv series have shit finale episodes these days
No big vision . They likely start with an interesting idea, arc or pitch, but have no follow through to see where it goes .
They realise that they have to wrap everything up after all the plots they opened, and need a quick way to do it
Yall are picky. They merged the two series perfectly.
@decentralizedintelligencea4778it was corny at best
@RK-kl3rc a very forced and rushed merger
Coz these aren't best selling novels which actually have good writers behind there ideas and critics that critique them and become best selling because they are good. These tv shows might have a good concept and make for a good season 1 but then they try to milk it for more but don't have any good ideas anymore so it becomes just dragged out
swear to god this episode felt like I was watching a scene from the original show parodying shit superhero movies
A-Train and Starlight showing up at the end of the episode with that corny ass out of character ass dialogue was literally an MCU scene lmao
Another thing to consider regarding Godolkin's choices: this is the first time he's been at full health with his powers since he got them. It makes sense to me that going from thirty years of clinging to life to full strength would make certain people high on their own fumes, especially with what he was able to accomplish being weak and near-dead.
I predict Polarity to be running the school next season
2:34 doctor Fielder is not only doctor, he also has a lot of other part time jobs!
Thought it was Simon miller, if ya know ya know lol
I’m glad I’m not the only who’s familiar with Dr Fielders work, very talented.
Godolkin never really stood a chance against all of them
In a way, Sister Sage stopped him by letting Polarity escaped. Sister Sage was the guy this season. She was controlling everyone.
Relatively weak?? He is literally almost like professor X and has telepathy similar powers and can control nearly anyone. The writing failed him. There's gotta be more character development for someone who is the founder of the important Godolkin University. Like that founder visionary guy can't just die so easily like marie did to him
Honestly I thought The Boys Mexico was a joke 😂
The kids coming out of buttguy's butt was totally unnecessary but, also funny 🤣.
and bushmaster's power crackup!
We need Butcher to end Homelander not anyone else
Doug must of been taken over in his 20s, that's just so sad. I felt bad for him
I have some insider info because my uncle actually works on the writing team for Gen V. Apparently, the reason why The Boys will take place 6 months after Gen V is because they want to give time for MM's beard to grow back
Goddamn
groundbreaking
Wow i actually fell for the bait. Deary me 🤦
Jordan breaking up with Marie hurts
Frfr. Y'all went through all THAT and broke up!? Tragic. SMH. 😵💫🙄😑
Stroh's Beer isn't from Germany, it's from Detroit.
Sister Sage is always wearing Detroit related shirts.
Even the pizza at the table is Detroit style pizza.
Hamish Linklater carried the entire season on his own!
He is such an incredible actor.
Sister sage was literally talking to herself when she was talking to Polarity. She is a nihilist, but she saw herself believing better future with godolkin. Now she has something to lose and weaker. While she actively cutting out Godolkin and asking did Polarity loved his family and reasoning behind it.
Maybe her goal was immortality through Marie ?
@edw7790I highly doubt it
Yeah, I'm surprised the dude who made the video didn't pick up on this, I thought it was quite obvious
I like the idea that Marie turns homelander human but I also think exploding him would be cool too haha.
I feel like the starlight end speech was bit cringe but overall a decent finale.
The dialogue felt like the dialogue actors give at the end of their characters role in a theme park ride lol.
😂😂😂only thing cringe is her face. Why would she f*** it up so badly. It actually looks like its getting worse each time I see it.
2:55 i remember going to a block buster when i was young and seeing one of my camp counselors working there. Truly magical
Doug was such a sweetie pie and Hamish Linklater is such an amazing actor
BROO FUCKING A-TRAIN 🔥🔥
ngl that had crying bc our boyyy is backkkkk🥹
I rolled off my bed I was so hype
I spit out my turbo rush when I saw him on screen
Greg can fly, and super strength..
1:16 My favorite VCR repairman is Mike Stoklasa thank you very much
Dr. Fielder looks mighty familiar
I am so glad that Greg isn't revealed as a bad guy! I've always thought he looked sweet haha. If Gen v get season 3, I would love to see how Emma's relationship plays out!
Me too. He is such a sweet guy
You think Kripke is going to let a 6 foot blonde hair, blue eyed, white guy supe with a cool power be a GOOD guy? Lol, lmao even.
i'm glad a-train return
and feel bad too, because i'm scared that he will died in season 5
He absolutely will die. They teased it so much.
This straight forward story was more surprising than any twists.
How was it surprising?
@raymondqiu8202 woooosh
Thank you for hitting me with the AHS apocalypse "Daddy Loves You Very Much." That line hit harder than a lot in the show, and its the perfect outro.
That's a really good catch of that plot hole lol
But we don't know if she has any motivation to do that anyway right?
I think sister sage is Frederick Vought
Her brain is more powerful then any abilities
Fr super intelligence as a power is an underrated OP power. Can literally help solve all problems imaginable to humans coz the brain can find solutions to human problems within the laws of physics
When Starlight showed up it felt like playing a video game where we didnt have access tk the main heroes like Batman, Superman and Wonderwoman.
Honestly, I was so on edge this entire episode. And I know I'm going to be the same for s5
I think the best thing ever to have Homelander turn human.... have him grow old in a jail - fantastic ending to his story lol
Hamish Linklater was the star of this season
Harper is a elite supe ngl
If godolken had killed literally anyone in that room while controlling marie....Marie would have broken out of his control and then killed him and have the vision play out with her in a pool of blood. Finally fixed. One small change would have made it more impactful
Sage’s powers were never absolute. This was proven in the boys when she didn’t expect Ashley to show up at that party
Exactly, it doesn't even make sense. Transfer of consciousness is too scifi
@Jason-gv1kzlmao, what I'm saying, the shit is right in front of ya
@raymondqiu8202 "too sci-fi" but precognition isn't???
did u even watch that one Tom Cruise movie 😭😭
Felt bad for Doug Brightbill (aka Cypher) death after he was out of control of Godolkin.
Definitely think this season was better than the first but if I was them I would have definitely made some changes in that last episode
yeah the last episode seemed rushed
They could have given us some of what they gave us in the last chapter drip, throughout the season, I don't know why they won't have done it that way. I think that's why we thought the episode was rushed
You really think so? To me it was an absolute flop
@UliaSamsonovawhat makes you think it was a flop?
The writing in S1 was so much better are you serious? Everything about this season was underwhelming, poor character development, and rushed lol.
2x speed makes this 5x more bareable
DADDY LOVES YOU VERY MUCH COMES BACK FROM THE DEAD IN GEN V VIDEOS WHOOOP WHOPPPP🎉🎉🎉
We all waited for a Homelander Experience....wish they kept Godolkin alive
I think this whole season is setting up the fight between Marie and Homelander before he fights Butcher. She’s gonna weaken him before she dies so Butcher can fight him on equal ground.
Yall want Marie to die so bad 🙄 What would even be the point of Gen V S3?
@ProximaBlue22I don't think there's gonna be a gen v s3
Marie better not be the one to kill homelander.
“Former Vought and Los Hermanos Pollo CEO” 😂😂😂😂
It would serve Homelander right if he were turned human.
Let him live among us "mud people".
A far worse fate for him than if he simply died.
feels like avatar ending
Nah he will aomehow get the v the best ending would be turning him into human and get killed by butcher in most gruesome way
A fight scene like vultramite empire would have been crazy
i like the blood angel she did in the battle.
since that is an execution move the vikings did. where theyd break the ribs on the back and pull out lungs to stretch out in the shape of angel wings. hence her wings look like lungs more than wings.
Homelander being turned human is just as poetic as Vic Mackey being stationed to a desk, alone.
Wow you're really fast! Overall I liked the finale, though it felt underwhelming and rushed. I love how none of the main characters died, and how they integrated with Annie and A-train in the end. Black Noir was funny as always.
RUclipsrs and reviewers get early access.
Thanks for the recap
1:40 wildd 😭🤣🤣🤣
😂
your videos are so well made
The fact that Godolkin ended up just being a way to show how "powerful" Marie is was so disappointing, and this feels like a useless season with so much waste
Boring ending.. was hoping major emotional deaths.. and the only cameo I liked was A-train and Black Nior.. sis Sage is always A+ but it was a rushed episode and killed him off easily.
The vision Annabeth had dint even come to fruition.. only lookin forward to the boys finale but now i think HL will be offed so easily too
he became a jobber for Marie 😭
the villain death and finale left a bad taste in my mouth ngl
@Wanzitv i swear if after all this time they just blow HL head like Godolkin ill be pissed. That would be GoT level of stupid endings
@Hexrampant Godolkin's death legit felt like the Night King's death in S8
just a whole load of "HUH what the fuck okay whatever... BUT WHYYY" 😭
@fpl_djhammerwho is night King
The guy that played “doug”, dude his character as cipher was so dope, by far one of the best villains ive ever seen on screen. Gadolkin himself was good but the actor for doug was just another level.
Blockbuster was magical ✨️ workers got 5 free movies a week and pre-releases it was beautiful 😢
God bless that place 🙏
(3:34) The Breakℹ🆖️ 🅱️🅰️D Gus Fring reference was pretty funny to insert. I had to go 🔙10 seconds to even catch this. 😂
I enjoyed the season but this episode was so flawed. Deeply disappointing to see Goldolkin get clapped so quickly after the huge build up of him returning to his normal healthy body with badass powers.
Blame Sister Sage. Godolkin was winning but she let Polarity escaped to stop him.
I love how Marie heals Godolkin real good that he doesn't need glasses anymore
Kinda a wacky last episode but overall that was a pretty great season, very excited for the end of the Boys now
Season was hot trash
*Pointless side note:*
_I used to LOVE Blockbuster weekend trips. Going in there with my family to pick out a movie for the night, plus a video game rental for my PS2 or Xbox. Great times._
I'm disappointed on the Ending
Why?
Same it felt rushed could be better with more runtime and character development for more characters.
Same. I was hoping for more of a grim outcome tbh. Cause that's how the Boys universe usually pans out. But it was cute.
People also keep forgetting there are 4 Odessa subjects, HomeLander, Marie, AnnaBeth and Godolkin. Now that it has been revealed that TG injected himself, though I believe he was also inhaling the burning Compound V1. That's what it says on the door to the lab (Odessa), and I stand by that observation.
lackluster final.. thats all i can say. Stil hyped for the last season of The Boys!
Dropping johnny inside was funny as fk😂
Just finished watching! Perfect timing lol 😅
😂😂 epic joke with the doctor bit
So they healed Cate only for her not using her powers in the final battle wtf. Should have upgraded her powers jeez
She used it to force the guard to let Marie in. But yes, that was the only thing she did
@foxbyteunity and the most important thing
@adarshminj2543 They could have also knocked him out and pressed the button to open the door themselves lmao
Yeah, Cate was kind of wasted in the finale… but oh well, she had her time in season 1. I’m just happy she’s alive though! More Maddie Phillips in season 5!
@Lynxnd they are setting up the boys season 5, fixing cate before so they don't have to do it later
