I've seen some INSANE stuff with longbow, there are genuinely some archers that shoot double this distance and only get inside the red with LONGBOW, it gives me shivers!
Every American Archery club has a Spanky. The guy that shoots only barebow or some expensive trad one-Piece, has a military boonie or bucket hat with lapel pins everywhere, nice as hell, and just smokes everyone in club.
@@landiemeyer1913 Ummm..... No. We wait for promoting traditional archery. But they can't cash in so much by selling this riser, and that plunger and another rest... So they probably won't...
My god I can recognise that this is actually a bow! No fancy weights or stabilisers sticking every possible directions. More, please moreeeee :) And I just loved the cheerful mood here.
Open compund... 11... 11... 11 Barebow... 10... 7.... 9 Theres more excitement in barebow, but it takes a special person too shoot a 132 there at Lancaster
Great to watch, up here in Canada a reporter or announcer would be told to shut up for interrupting the concentration of the archers during competition.
I shoot field and Old English clout, barebow is the way I came into Archery, school gyms and sports fields basic Archery. Love the concept of barebow competition, you are only as good as your form, under pressure archery shows your own self how to shoot your own way when relaxed. Real showdown stuff, golden bow medieval tournaments maybe?
I wonder if you could take a technical point from professional Darts on TV - Split screen. Show the shooter and the target side by side instead of cutting back and forth... maybe?
Oi oi oi. Good job mate, made Australia proud. Time to get the old recurve out. I'm shooting bare tomorrow like when I was a kid. Compound can take a backseat for a while.
Great tournament Lancaster. Great to see Fishers sportsmanship too. It's really admirable. I can't help but be curious about what kind of accuracy they'd get over longer distances, like say 50 metres. Fantasic archery.
The top guys at 50 meters on an 80cm face are round 580-640 in practice and 540-600 on good weather competition days. For the 122cm it's 660-680 and 640-670 respectively
Everyone is getting so hyped and astonished, but barebow is how bows have been shot for tens of thousands of years. There's nothing crazy about it. Try it out long enough for your brain to understand it and you'll probably love it.
The additional weight help offset the weight drag on the string and the disparity between the centre of balance on the bow and the drawpoint. With string walking it has a greater distance too. Arrow length has a role too but it's all about equalizing the weight balance without rods.
He probably has, if I ever got as good as him I'd find it hard to ignore the competitive side of the sport. Alot of these competitions get little media attention so he could of been in hundreds and we wouldn't know unless he told us, kinda sad really.
Only thing I didn't like was the structure; that is...Spanky was shooting and winning, but anyone who shoots trad can tell you your consistency starts to wane after a couple dozen arrows, and the competition was fresh. By the time Michael got up there Spanky was probably feeling the fatigue, big time.
I don't get why it's called bare bow... Call me crazy, but shouldn't a bare bow be just that? Bare? No rest. No stabilizer. Just a bow shot from the shelf? It's a wild and crazy idea I know.
Those shots are hard enough to make as is. I shoot a traditional horsebow without shelf or any aids and have to tell ya hitting a 20x20 square from 35 meters takes skill and practice.
Still plungers, CNC risers and finger tab, tho. I find amusing the needs to critize compounds or olympics; a self bow archer could do the same... No need to blame others which enjoy different ways of archery.
It was a comment on how well they were shooting without all the modern equipment on their bows . The statement that aren't archery is you talking you are pissed about something and just want to pick a fight grow up!
Barebow archers often use a technique called string walking. The tabs they use help accommodate this technique. Just youtube string walking and you'll find plenty of vids.

Barebow.... Best archery division for show, Anything can happen
Komennya master nih....
I shoot a recurve bow and recently tried barebow shooting, I hit everything except the targets....and I absolutely loved it.
@οὐτόπος :/, nah bro, every bow, into olympic to bare to compound, each one is a real bow, with different difficulties.
Join The Barebow Project on Facebook and it will help you out quite a bit.
I got a bow and shoot backyard at around 30 yards from time to time, its a takedown with an arrow rest, is this considered barebow?
NaCl Sigma think so

Love the Breaks and Chats with these Bowmen...Good share !!
More Barebow and Traditional PLEASE!!!
And modernlong!
English longbow
Nonsense. We need more shiny, rainbow colored bows with antennas and doohickeys sticking out of every side. That’s real archery.
Watches Olympic shooting, what a snooze fest, this is much better

That's the rules.
he looks violently nice
Spanks everyone*
Mine is full of them
Spanky is a class act. One of the most genuinely nice folks you will ever meet. And yes, he smokes everyone around here.
Barebow, Longbow and Trad generally is the only Archery I'm interested in ... legit and as pure as it comes.
Thank you Lancaster and Hoyt for sponsoring this tournament! Loved every nail biting second!
Well done Michael! I hope the sport gets more sponsorship in the future. A true challenge for any archer!
As a complete novice I really appreciate this upload.
Thank you.
Lancaster archery thanks for all your hard work for promoting bare bow.A lot of people been waiting for that.
I totally agree

I've just taken up Barebow, this was great to watch. Thanks.
The highest of skills and the nerves to overcome just show why this is catching on....amazing shots.
Thanks for this barebow only video!
the sound of ben rogers arrows hitting the target is awesome
Well done! A great pleasure to watch this Barebow Finals! Greetings from Frankfurt / Germany!
Love watching this each year, even as a recurve archer.
Can we get LONGBOW please. Love these barebow competitions.
I would love to see this. Longbow is my favorite kind of bow.
Lancaster does it the best, great job, thanks Rob, JD3, and John Wert for representing heavy in Barebow!
My god I can recognise that this is actually a bow! No fancy weights or stabilisers sticking every possible directions. More, please moreeeee :) And I just loved the cheerful mood here.
These guys rock, a great inspiration for us old guys
Thank you recommended!
So wholesome, I'm such a proud Aussie :')
Well done Micheal your a legend mate 👍
I’d rather watch this then open compound any day
Any day , all day

This is absolutely beautiful!
Wow.... Love barebow..
This was great to watch! And what a finish! Ending with a dead center x !
Hit the spider!
PLEASE!!!! More Traditional Barebow shoots PLEASE!!!!!! ITS THE ONLY STYLE TO SHOOT!!!! GOD BLESS BAREBOW ARCHERY!!!!!!!!!
Great to watch, up here in Canada a reporter or announcer would be told to shut up for interrupting the concentration of the archers during competition.
Thank you for this broad cast keep it up. I only shoot Traditional.
Great to watch some quality barebow.

Spanky Brooks ...I like him ..fantastic Barebow Archer
Way to go love Bar bow,🇺🇸👍 Tennessee prepper
Charles Smith hey man .im in western nc wheres a good tune up for longbow shoot?
Awsome, bringing real archery back
So awesome!!
Michael Fisher seems like a super nice guy and such a great Barebow Archer
I live 2 hours from Spanky, nice to see home state represented
Mr. Brooks, si compite este año, le deseo lo mejor desde Argentina. Luis.
I wonder if you could take a technical point from professional Darts on TV - Split screen. Show the shooter and the target side by side instead of cutting back and forth... maybe?
Incredible final shot. Imagine the pressure just to put an arrow on the target, then just center punching the X.
Ahhhhhhh, finally!!! Your editors need to work harder and get the barebow stuff out STAT!!!! ;-)
The best there is .2019. But im getting better..congrats
Barebow is KING. Can't wait for the women shooting next year. Fingers crossed.
This is a great battle💪🏽
Oi oi oi. Good job mate, made Australia proud. Time to get the old recurve out. I'm shooting bare tomorrow like when I was a kid. Compound can take a backseat for a while.
No age class… inspiring… I really like this! 🏆
Hello from Germany, on which distance they shoot on the target?
18 meters.
Freakin Awesome!
Insane!!!
These men... Are Gods!

Now this is archery.
I hated last year that they interview them on the shoot. But I have to admit it is an awesome and nervewrecking format!
He should get a 10k bonus for that type of finish
What's the full run down on b bow compared to recurve ? Why so heavy? Physics please! Arrow length etc..... love this!
The additional weight help offset the weight drag on the string and the disparity between the centre of balance on the bow and the drawpoint. With string walking it has a greater distance too. Arrow length has a role too but it's all about equalizing the weight balance without rods.
#BAREBOWNATION for life!

I'd like to see Lars Anderson compete in one of these. Now he's skilled.
He probably has, if I ever got as good as him I'd find it hard to ignore the competitive side of the sport. Alot of these competitions get little media attention so he could of been in hundreds and we wouldn't know unless he told us, kinda sad really.

Nothing better than barebow
awesome 🎯
Do We have a Traditional Instinctive Raw off the shelf class?? I'm IN!!!👍
Argh, can´t wait until snow melts!
Commented before watching whole clip.love the skills!
Damn spannkyyy you had him.
Nice!!!
Did I hear correctly that he used a 2-2½ lbs stabilizer?! Because whenever I looked for ones, I can only find ones at 0,1 lbs (1,6 oz).
I'd like to see and all wood class
definitely!
So no hornbows?
Natural materials only class. Wood, bone, stone, sinew, hide glue, fish bladder glue, horn, etc.
And no plungers or rests
Barebow off the shelf wood bows is my game
Ben started competing way before I was born amazing and I am 35. :)
Why do they interview them in the middle of the competition? Ugggg
supposedly its to throw them off or whatever but its annoying as hell
Its something to do while measuring the target and pulling out arrows, to be fair.
I don't get why it's called bare bow... Call me crazy, but shouldn't a bare bow be just that? Bare? No rest. No stabilizer. Just a bow shot from the shelf? It's a wild and crazy idea I know.

OohH YyeahH Mate!
My last bare bow cop. I saw twice where the points were changed for Michael Fisher.
Could someone tell me what distance and target height they shoot at? Thanks!
@Hrafn thank you
Now that's archery at its best no fancy gadgets.
Still plungers, CNC risers and finger tab, tho. I find amusing the needs to critize compounds or olympics; a self bow archer could do the same... No need to blame others which enjoy different ways of archery.

@@gemfaceter but it's really rude to archers like myself who do the olympic bows tbh.
What is the distance they are shooting?
what is the distance on this tournament please?
They need warbow category on the Olympics (100-200lb draw weights)
Haha that'd be something
Bare bow is real shooting injoy this can of archery
How far are they shooting?
Olympic Recurve all the way for me, but Barebow is a close second for me to watch or even consider shooting. Compound is a distant third.
Hi. what is the breath of the 9,10 and 11 rings?
just to practice
It's 40 cm target face, so 8, 4 and 2 cm
That’s very spiritual
looks like I oughta carve a notch in my ball cap, ah yuht.
it's electric, boogy woogy woogy woogy
what a GREAT finish! lol
What is the distance here?
Cool !!
This is an awesome competition, but there are way too many interruptions.
Wait what tabs are they using? I see them using tabs with three under?
