I'm just starting. My main focus is getting good reviews and I can do that through friends and family. Starts at $60 but will go more if its really dirty. I've found most of my friends and family have a good decently clean car. I got 2 cars lined up but those are my brothers and dads car and they're going to be my before and after pics. My best friend set up a simple website. I just have to go in there and type in my services. I've got a lot of people willing to help. I'm so grateful.
I started with $100 dollar basic washer , but I’m a natural salesman and I can pitch it to them good ! You just have to practice saying NO to people and know your worth
Great content man! I'm in the same area as you and I'm just beginning my detailing journey. You've actually been one of the complanies locally that I've been taking some inspiration from and look up to. One quesiton, how was it taking you 2-3 hours to do interior and exterior by yourself when you were starting? It's taking me an average of 5-6 hours to do a full detail and I can't imagine doing it in less than 4 hours unless I had help. I'm not doing anything crazy either, just a basic interior detail, no shampoo or carpet cleaning, and basic exterior was and wax.
When I started my detailing business with my brother our prices were mad cheap. Can’t really make them too high if you’re just starting. It’s all about experience! Now after doing it for 3 years as a side hustle we were able to raise our prices according to make sure we are getting paid for our services. Just gotta price on how much you value your time.
@@mendezmobiledetailing i used to charge $80 for a full detail $60 for the interior only and people would still lowball me for some reason but it’s all good because now I’m doing it full time i charge $150 for the interior now $80 for a premium wash $200-$230 for a full detail
Great content, I would recommend having a waiver form for engines. Why? You will get folks who have check engine lights or engine issues who will call you and set you up. You do the detail, they will call back in a day or so saying it must have been caused by the water etc. Some people just suck! What I do is recommend they don’t do it if the vehicle is over 3 yrs old and explain that there will be water introduced to clean off residue. Most newer engines can take it, but if they already have a CEL or there are mods, you can’t do it. Make them sign a waiver removing you from the liability. Been here a few times and it can get ugly if you don’t cover your azz.
Any car seats removed will be left removed for me the client can put them back in and always do a walk around the vehicle with them so there is no mistake that you did a scratch or damage to the property
Great content! I was thinking about charging the same as my competitors but after listening to you I have to gain the experience first then I can price mine accordingly. Thanks bro!
@@mendezmobiledetailing motorcycles are great. I ride so always making more connections. At 200 a piece they make good money for the little time they take. Usually am able to line 2-4 up at a time to knock out in a day. My 4th week I pulled 14 bikes. But averaging 6 a week.

How does the conversation go and what is the usual reaction of customers when they know that I have to use their water and electricity? Or should a tank and a generator be the first thing I buy?
Don't change your pricing based on using their power or water. They don't mind. Dont overcomplicate things, especially if you're just starting out. Clients are more than happy to let you use their sources
love the information bro. I'm just getting started from scratch. So when you say $90 for the shampoo, that includes the interior cleaning or are those two separate charges? Like would it just be $90 or would it be $90 plus $50?

As of the year before she paid 300 and it didn't look as good as when we did it. She told me you need to charge more.. that's when I realized I brought good service and that was only watchin a crap ton of videos the night before just to give me a run down of what to do . You can charge average pricing in your area starting out. Get a couple before and after pictures. Make you website, advertise on Google and just be professional and knowledgeable. I agree, If you have the confidence to charge more at first then do it. But if not, don't shoot yourself in the foot. Imagine coming in as a beginner charging Mendez pricing and not being properly equipped to do a job. You charge the same price, but the knowledge and equipment wont be the same... it'll take me 2 hours and you'll take 4-5 hours. So now, you're charging the same price, but making way less per hr.. so now you're going to think you should raise pricing to make more per hour..and its hard to raise pricing when you are already coming out the gate with a high price tag. You'll have to prove yourself in the beginning which is why I say charge less, you're more likely to get reviews, and much happier clients with the lower price at first, slowly increase the pricing..
@Mendez Mobile Detailing that's all true but that's also why I said average pricing for your area. Not high pricing. I mean there's people charging $60 for a full detail. As long as you set customer expectations on length of detail, average pricing should be fine. It worked for me but I also know how to talk to people and set expectations coming from a sales and customer service background. Shouldnt raise pricing until you have better equipment and more knowledge but it is easy to get away with average. Many customers told me they chose me because my prices were in the middle. They weren't comfortable paying the low cost or the high cost. They said low cost indicated to them that it wasn't a legitimate company. Then again, my area has huge price differences so there's more room to play with when setting prices.
