Harvesting the mother lode of basil! But, of course, hard lesson learned again.

Don't you just LOVE the smell of basil? It's absolutely incredible. The basil I planted thrived in the composted horse manure and I had so much of it. This video contains part of the basil harvest before the trip to Indiana for my hip surgery.
Basil cannot be hung to dry. I don't know why I assumed this, maybe because of all of the videos and shows I've watched with people who have hanging herbs in their kitchens or pantries. But, it's not the right way to preserve basil.
I really, really wish a freeze dryer was in the budget this year.
