So. To be that nerd. the Can Opener (Formerly 11'8", now 12' 4") bridge cannot be raised any further because, as a rail crossing, they'd need to re-grade it out for literal MILES on each side of the bridge. the road beneath cannot be lowered any further because there is a sewer junction.
To answer Graham’s question about corgis, they ARE a herding breed, and an old one, though typically for sheep and goats. The reason they are so short and stocky is so that if an animal gets annoyed and tries to kick them it will either go right overhead or the corgi will just sort of tumble away, absorbing the blow. Also, being such an old breed is why corgi mixes always look like a corgi cosplaying as the other breed.
Impossibly weird watching the first game + knowing that exact stretch of highway and wondering if they played long enough they'd get to exit I use to get home...
As a road nerd and road sign nerd, who is from Chicagoland (home of the highway depicted), that Danville exit is one of the funniest choices for a city to appear on the sign. 394 doesn't go anywhere near Danville, which is 175 km away. NO ONE is taking that road to Danville. But the signs as shown in the game are accurate to what really exists IRL!
To hope for a Beauty Copter 2 is to hope for doom. Only two things could happen, its confusion becomes so boggling that it rends the mind asunder, or it's just sort of dull, failing to live to its progenitor. Either way, some engagement.
I love that this show has to specify in the chapters that tech issues is not a game, it's literal technical issues, because it's the kind of show that *absolutely* could have a game called "tech issues".
So after you guys played in zombed I actually wanted to see what happened at the end of the game and I went and found a stream. Good thing you guys didn't. The premise was actually kind of intriguing even though the game wasn't that well made. But the end was, to quote Mr Stark, ass. 😅🤓
On the saline thing, there's another similar effect with normal IVs where you get a chemical "flavour" from saline flushes which research shows is probably micro plastics from the plastic vials used for flushes.
Part of my fear of dogs was due to a corgi being Extremely Concerned that I was standing a few inches too far from the friend group, and tried to fix this by nipping my ankles. I was a dumbass and ran because I did not understand being herded.
In 40k can the Necron mater tactitians predict almost any move the enemy will make. Exept for grots, they can not figure out the self destructive, contracdicetry nonsense grots do.
wait Graham was in a cancer ward having daily blood tests and they didn't put a catheter in until he asked? They were just stabbing him fresh every time?! That's crazy. Here in the UK basically any time you go into hospital for anything and have to have blood drawn they just put a catheter in first time. Usually just a little one in the back of your hand. Those are just a needle with a port on the end they put in and tape down. Nothing involved. Even if they're only expecting you to be there a few hours. Just because it's as easy as doing a one off needle, but if they have to come back for more blood or an injection, it saves them time later. And of course for long stays like cancer treatment they put a bigger one in your arm. It's just standard practice. Even when we have one off outpatient blood tests, they put a kind of catheter in temporarily, so they can fill up multiple separate vials if they have to with just the one needle. It must have been multiple decades since i had blood drawn or anything injected (other than local anaesthetic) with a basic hypodermic syringe
Around 26 minutes, Alex talks about how he's a contrarian, and will do the thing the game tells him not to do. The thing is, if you do the thing the game tells you not to do, but there is an outcome that the programmer accounted for, then it's still intended play, not emergent or subversive gameplay. As long as the game's creators made the game react to what you're doing, it's still how you're supposed to play the game. The way to tell that the thing you're doing is actually subversive is if the game glitches out or doesn't allow you to do the thing. Otherwise, it's something the devs fully took into account and programmed for. I think Folding Ideas had a video on this.
So while I was in the hospital waiting for my lung transplant they gave me a pick line and it was amazing. Then they removed it citing that because it went directly to the heart if I got an infection because of it it would be very bad. Guys you are the medical professionals. It's your job to make sure I don't get an infection. I would have signed a waiver just to keep it in but they were having none of it. Had that pick line in for like 2 days out of the several months I was in there. As much as that hospital saved my life, it was fucking miserable there
I bet there's some kind of coast where the wizard coasters come from... let's just call it uhh Sorcerer Beach? idk you can probably think of a better name.
Tour de Drone wasn't GOOD per se, but it was kind of relaxing and neat. If I needed to de stress for half an hour I might drop 10 cents on it... which is high praise by Watch + Play standards. Still, I think it's higher purpose is to bring up Beautycopter again. BEAUTYCOPTER 2! BEAUTYCOPTER 2! BEAUTYCOPTER 2!!!
Having not read the book and only familiar with it's broad strokes and reputation, isn't the game Mirror's Edge basically the Snow Crash courier kind of game they're wondering if anyone has made?
So.

Hey, same!
the emzombed voice actor sounded like they were narrating a jackbox game

'why does the dialogue sound like a robot is having it tortured out of them?' thank you, wordsmith graham

I'm glad that Alex and Graham both know about the 11foot8 bridge. I think it's now 12'4" but people still crash into it
Montague St Bridge in Melbourne Aus also likes to peel trucks like cans too. It's also a Train overpass that can't be moved at all.
And also has a website keeping score for how many trucks it's destroyed
Kudos to editors to get this out so fast and so well done, I quite enjoy the chapter titles too
Man, I just realized it's been a while since I've seen Paul on cam.
He looks good!

Wow, I did not have "Graham talks about his PICC line" on my W+P bingo card. Very cool though.

Can haz, bro? 😊
Going under Pennsylvania Ave in Lansing does the same thing to large trucks.
They call it Big Penny and added a pointed tooth face to it.
"There's a leaning Tower of Pisa replica somewhere in the US. I can't remember where."
Well, it's next to a Target, obviously.
Holy shit, that's the Costco I go to, next to the fake leaning tower. That was a surprise lol
56:00 That's a digging fork, not a pitchfork. Works as a pitchfork in a pinch, though.
19:40 James: " hey graham look at this gross thing i found in the fridge"
Was I the only one who was waiting for the Enzombed narrator to tell us You Don't Know Jack?
The Bridge is in Durham, North Carolina. Company I worked for actually lost a truck to it.

Graham: How do I quit ROAD?
Me: You don't quit ROAD... ROAD quit you.
ROAD: I iS ViDeo gAmIng!
31:34 That happened when you "Took to the sky". I guess they gave your landing a 6

8:07 Danville? They could've gone to visit Phineas and Ferb!
Road in the first game looks like 80/94 going west, probably just past the Indiana border.

toure de drone really feels like an "ai" "developed" "game"
Get me a cup of that truck's hitbox's piss.
And blurgh Roko's Basilisk is just the dumbest concept.
So you're helping construct it, right?

Mirrors edge is a pakor game.
A parkor game *about being a courier in a cyberpunk dystopia*
I sure hope Alex's guess, that Directly Drink Milk from Cow is an intentionally bad game, is correct, because if not... _oof._
