I love the bow and arrow drill! One thing I would add is pressure on the left foot at the top of the back swing. Those two things together and the down swing is a lot easier.
@@mikerose7375 thanks for the comments. Yes, I totally agree getting into the lead leg earlier at the top really helps generating more ground force into the downswing.
Long hitting isn’t just about shoulder turn - most amateur golfers will hit the ball further ( and straighter ) with a shorter backswing but focus on a more centered ball strike - don’t compare anything to the best golfers in the world - they can be very inconsistent with the driver just like anyone else
@@Graham-bg3ij I completely disagree. A shorter backswing is the quickest way to shorter hitting. Inconsistent ball striking comes from creating a bad shoulder turn, not a big turn. Creating a full turn (that is different for each golfer) will improve ball striking and increase speed. Insufficient shoulder turn also makes it difficult to achieve a consistent downswing plane. A full turn applicable to the individual is always a better way to swing.
