The best books and films for children are those with a dark atmosphere. Coraline, Monster House, Tim Burton's animations and especially The Secret Garden... I always love that what makes me melancholic and gives me this dark, beautiful and magical atmosphere.
And also any book by Marcin Szczygielski! I don't know if they have been translated into english, but I loved his books when I was younger and this playlist would be perfect for reading them 🖤

She wasn't afraid of falling at all, taking every step with grace looking like a ballet dancer, her white dress swirling in the air following her movements. Nobody knew how long has passed since that little girl was alive, but during the full moon nights, she kept on dancing on that roof, piano playing a dark tune in the background, reminding everyone of the tragedy that took place in that empty castle many years before.

This gives me Lovecraft romance vibes. Like a woman looking for her lost love she's slowly remembering overtime, only to discover their thirst for knowledge turned him into a multi-dimensional monster who gave up his humanity so she can live. The condition was that she would lose her memories, but fate found a way to bring them together again.

I was so sure I was going to have a happy ending. A happy ending married to a prince, surrounded by people I love who also loved me. But life is unfair. And the tale of Snow White suddenly became darker and far more bloody. Darker than the hair of Snow White. Bloodier than the lips of Snow White. As reality settled in, it felt like the room grew colder, freezing cold. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I continued to shake. Looking down revealed the blood on my hands and on my dress. I... didn't mean to kill him. I... I had to kill him. The rest could come home at any moment. Thinking fast I ran out the back of the cottage, grabbing the small corpse and a shovel on the way, and ran deep into the forest. I dug a fresh hole in the ground, hoisting the corpse into the hole. After burying the body, I thought back to the events prior to this. I didn't mean to kill... In fact, this should have never happened! And yet, here I am, beside two dirt mounds. A fellow lies in his grandmother's cabin bed. It is night and moonlight caresses his sleeping form. It does not take long for him to awake. Subtle sounds of a piano are heard from the nearby forest. He tiptoes to the front door and puts on his blue coat. His barefeet grow comfortable against the cool grass. Music seems to float across trees. He follows and it dances in the opposite direction. Deeper and darker does the forest grow. He has tread this path before. A cool and soothing breeze takes his hand and leads him further. There in a parting of trees is a young boy with wolfish ears playing on a piano of air. The blue coat falls to the ground and feet inevitable walk. They head towards this strange boy until they are stood beside him. The wolfish boy does not look up but speaks:" I had hoped you would like your lullabies." The stars knew, oh, the stars knew this tale would continue but instead of red and something new There remains the old, only tainted with blue.
Imagine having to relive every memory of a story of you with such gruesome and dark parts, being trapped in an eternal cycle of hell. Think about it. You can never escape this world. Every time the someone finishes your story another person opens that storybook and everything restarts. I think I would go insane if that happened to me. Kinda scary if you think about it. It gives me the same feeling of dark as a lone person walking through the apocalypse. Both all alone. I just got an inspiration for writing somthing with this-

He sounded happy, but there was a melancholic tone in his voice, I had gotten to know him well, since the first time I fell into one of his balls between life and death. A quick accident, a terrible confusion ... and suddenly I was in a world between worlds, a plase of darkness. I had fallen into the realm between life and death, without anyone or anything. Until a pair of deep eyes found me, scary at first he was just supposed to lead me to the other side but that didn't happen .... I found myself lost and scared in the presence of one of the sons of death, a prince of the limbo, but to my surprise he was kind ... and sweet and wanted to do good ... and as time went by with me in his company .... him, his good heart and kind demeanor, his white hair and smug smile, his tall frame, all of he ... became this warm place that I no longer wanted to leave ... I could have stayed comfortably still lean on his shoulder, reminiscent. ... but as i sigh at our past memories, he adverted my dispersion and rub his cheek on the top of my head, making me pull away from my thoughts. i let out a small giggle and hold him tight in response ... "I could dance in this limbo forever .. as long it is by your side" ...i finally said. But then there was a pause, and I could feel that my words were not a pleasant surprise as i would have hoped, because his posture changed beneath my arms. Until suddenly he grabbed my waist and made me took carefully a step back, causing our dancing to stop and breaking our embrace "but .. I want you to live" - he said with his gaze fixed on me ...
"no ...." - I pronounce under my breath, in almost a whisper ....... are you.. are you going to send me back? - i asked with a note of panic in my voice He looked at me with sadness, and for a second It seemed that doubt could peak through his eyes ... but promptly shook his head ... "we both know that you came back here because of the consequences that accident left on you" ... "But also that time you left to return to the living world was the right thing to do." "But no" .."no" ! ... "I won't .." - I raised my voice trying to protest, but he cut me off .. "I want you" - he said softly - .. "i want you to run under the sun, i want you" ... "to see those beautiful sunsets that you have told me so much about". - and continued - "I want your beautiful face to be illuminated by the flowers that you can discover while walking the earth" .... "And you know there won't be another chance, although ...... "I wouldn't mind breaking the rules a thousand times for you" - he paused and stroked my hair, as he offer a cheeky smile ... "But I know you, lovely" ... "and I know how much you love life, tell me then that I am not right" ... "that you will not miss it" ... - he finally concluded. My words got stuck in my throat, no matter how much I wanted to deny it he was right ... i loved life and everything in it, i really loved it .. and even when he was by my side ther was a tiny and deep part of me missed her so much. However, seeing him before me made me realize .... there was something more important than I, making a choice only for me , what really made my words got stuck ..... Even though I could give up the living world for him, how could I stay without him breaking the rules? ..... He wanted me safe, could I offer the same if I stayed ? .... after all this place was just a step for any soul, not a permanent place. I had put him at risk before, my whole stay in the realm the first time was a big risk he took and continuing to do so could only make it worse, until unleashing great consequences or awaken the true evil that governed the realm ... his father, Death himself, who then would not hesitate to punish him. For a few seconds i remained immobile looking at nothing, hoping .. that i could find a solution scrambling every possibility for us to not be apart. It wasn't until I met his gaze and could see into his eyes that I knew it then ... I loved him .... as the resolution came to me, i finally lowered my head full of shame and tears ... I could not put him through that, I would not allow him to risk more... I got close to him once more and slowly put a hand over his cheek. "Could you run with me under the sun?" .... - i said at last hopeful, even when i knew what the answer would be A heavy smile escaped his lips and as he cupped my face said - "this shadow" - referring to himself -... "will always appear when you enjoy in the sun " "I love you" .. said he ... and as he lean to kiss me I was envolved between an icy wind and a bright light, and lost consciousness
The only true way to listen to this as you write is next to a warm fireplace and with rain tapping down onto the windows of your old, Victorian manor that you somehow inherited from a long distant relative you had no idea of. Completely unaware of the secret rooms and passages that lay in the walls, behind paintings and bookshelves. Maybe even a spirit or two haunting the halls of their old home, wondering why a new face has suddenly waltzed into their house uninvited. Sometimes you can still hear the faint echo of old parties in the dining hall, a quiet hum of what was the main entertainment spot, the static hiss of a gramophone echoing out into the rest of the manor at exactly Midnight. It may be an odd house, with it's quirks and creaky floorboards that always squeak when no one's near them. But you've decided to call it home, and maybe. . The spirits like you too.
This description is absolutely wonderful for setting the tone and atmosphere. I would love to be in that kind of scene, hearing this play out. Thank you for the imagery.
The dramatic, magical, almost distant yet emotional tone that these take on reminds me of a particular period of my childhood. This was a time when I was much better at playing piano, because I had practiced more and gone to lessons, but the sounds on my cheaper piano were less clear and sounded old like the ones from these songs. I had a balcony that I would play next to with the door open, and the way the sounds echoed on a quiet evening or during rain felt so deep and magical. I usually would play in this melancholy tone - as if yearning for something far away, or walking across an old battlefield, or calling out to someone lost in a storm. This wasn't really the way I expected to feel from this video when I clicked it, but I feel nostalgic for that magical time. I would play for hours through the evening and into the night, as it rained especially. And when it wasn't raining the moonlight might've shined through my skylight (yes I had both a balcony and skylight 😭 I miss it) or the birds would respond to my song. And I would sing too. I would usually improvise, but I used to be able to sing with a richness and power back when I didn't have as much trouble with Asthma. Now my hand is too injured to play nonetheless practice - it's been far too long since I've been able to play songs like these. And I get out of breath quite easily, with my new health condition (in addition to Asthma) making me get real lightheaded and winded easily. And it feels like that time is hardly real now. I felt that way back then too. It was so beautiful, just to create music and sit in the timeless silence that followed, that it was almost mythical. So if you read this far, and you desperately want to have what I'm talking about you need these things: A piano (or comparable musical instrument) The ability to practice piano The ability to sing (optional) A skylight / large window / balcony (I imagine a large empty room would also fit) Quiet time A soul Optional: rain, moon and stars, or a nonhuman audience.
I'm very sorry to hear that your health has become fragile and limited your ability to do the things that you are passionate about doing, or is keeping you from doing them all together. I too am dealing with what my pulmonologist calls "late onset, severe and uncontrollable asthma" and it has greatly hampered my ability to be as involved in my artist work and recreational pursuits as I had been in the past. I still press on but have learned in a way, to live a different life. Everything has changed, from my diet, my sleep patterns, my relationships, my appearance (mainly due to the insane amount of prednisone I'm being forced to take in order to keep my airways opened). And yet in the face of all this, my passion for my artwork remains, much like your passion for music and playing the piano. Even when I was broadsided by the diagnosis of a secondary disease that has parallels with asthma (Churg Strauss syndrome) I have a desire to keep creating and imagining and dreaming. If anything, I can live the life I want vicariously through my artwork. I hope you find a way to keep doing the things love, even when you don't feel quite so lovely. I can totally relate to this😭 During my childhood, i would get hospitalized alot due to my fragile heath but it didn't stop me from my goals of becoming an animator and artists. At that time, I hoped my health would be strong enough and i would imagine fairytales while I'm stuck at bed But now... I'm a teenager, my health is becoming stronger. My mental health is the one getting weaker, i would get bullied and left alone. Now i daydream of being in a fairytale to escape the harshness instead of getting out of bed 🤎
I was sick constantly as a kid, but that tapered off in middle school, and I've been through a lot of crap. I live in the middle of nowhere, in the woods of Western Montana. When I was in middle and high school, I would take my guitar, and go play emotional songs on a large rock on a hill in the woods behind my house. I would sing the lyrics like Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody "I don't wanna die. Sometimes wish I'd never been born at all." I'd just pour my soul, my sadness, my pain into it. That's what I did to cope with the crap, but I'd also turned to self harm as well. I'm three years clean from cutting, and I'm going on four years with my SO. I don't really play anymore. But that's ok. As we grow, our circumstances and our needs change. It's ok to let go of things, but never forget them. I wish you health and luck in all of your endeavors. Never forget: you are not alone.
I know exactly what you mean. I'm so sorry to hear that your health has kept you from music. I've been connected with music my entire life. My mom playing music while I was in the womb, my dance lessons that I took from age 2 to 11, getting into band when I entered middle school and learning to play the flute, getting into marching band and the top band at my high school, etc. And then suddenly I graduated and it all stopped. I don't practice my flute or piano anymore. I haven't played since I fell into a deep pit of depression in 2020 after my dog died. I haven't picked up anything since and it's slowly chipping away at me as this is the first time in my life when I haven't been connected to music like I used to be. Now all I can do is sit on the deck we have in the backyard, trying to think how the hell I'm going to get my life together so I can support myself. I'm doing nothing. I'm not in school, I'm not working, I don't have my driver's license since I'm fighting severe driving anxiety (I don't get anxious like ever lol). I'm falling into anti social habits again and pushing people away. My parents and I talked about therapy but haven't taken any action. Thank you for bringing that mystical feeling back by describing your childhood. There's something so different about making your own music and expressing yourself. Y'all that have commented here are such cool people and it's nice to not feel alone.

There’s something so fascinating about classical music to me. It can feel very sad and depressing at times, but it also makes me feel nostalgic/remember memories that I’ve never lived before, or it could make me feel as happy and ecstatic as I can be. I’m not sure what it is about this type of music that makes me feel these things but I really like it. I guess this was a roundabout way of saying that I really enjoyed this playlist and am looking forward for future uploads ^^

•|The Eternal Garden|• Under the moon, it seemed as if she was a moonchild. Saying that she was beautiful would be an understatement. She was gorgeous. The way she danced under the moonlight in the Eternal Garden was full of elegance. It was majestic, magnificent and......captive. She danced ever so gracefully, it captivated the eyes of the Prince Kael, the Prince of death. His eyes followed every moment of the young maidan who danced in the garden, amid the lilies, in her own world. What was the music for her? The sound of the breeze passing by or the leaves shaking. Was it the voice of the night's little creatures or the wolves howling far away? The young maiden heard some quite steps, moving towards her. She stopped. Her eyes were still closed and she took a deep breath. The very first thing she saw opening her honey brown eyes were black hair that were difficult to differentiate from the night. And then she met the pair of golden eyes. And it's owner asked,"What is it, making you dance?" The young maiden smiled and answered, "The happiness that can't reside within my heart has came out as music, sir." His eyes sparkled. He was curious to know about it all a little more. But he knew the best was to stop here. "Would you like to be a part of my happiness, sir?" Her sweet voice asked. "Strangers, My lady" She chuckled and settled the hair that fall on her face dur to wind. She extended her hand and said, "Hazel." Prince Kael parted hia lips to say something but stopped. He smiled and took her hand, kissed it and twirl her around. She was taken aback, but soon smiled and enjoyed the moment. It was a perfect moment. Under the moonlight, in the Eternal Garden, amid the lilies, two youths dancing with the music of happiness. But a little closure look and one would know what happened at that starry night. The graceful dance soon took a wild turn. Because at last, just a moment spent together can't chage anything. And he stabbed her. And she smiled, for she saw it coming. How could have she thought of surviving? She knew what was coming and she expected it. Silent tears rolled down on the cheeks, of the Prince. He knew he was wrong but what he was made for, he had to do it. The young maiden gave a bittersweet smile and said goodbye to the world. And for the centuries and centuries ahead, the youths danced in the Eternal Garden under the moonlight amidst the lilies. The lilies full of blood.
As someone who likes writing as hobbie too (I dont know if you're a writer for living if so, im sorry for calling it a hobbie). I think this is gorgeus and I love how their story was short, but was beautiful while it lasted.

After weeks of searching, she had found him again. Her lost love. How could she forget? Someone as special as him. The one person who made the world turn for her. She stepped closer. The darkness was inviting. Her heart soared and her smile grew when she saw what she believed to be the outline of his body. Each step quickened until she found herself sprinting towards him. He turned and the truth was revealed. It was him, but not in appearance. Not anymore. He had given up his physical humanity so she can live a happy life. A human life. But he would be lying if he wasn't happy to see her again. His existence in this realm was a lonely one. One where he could only watch from the side, unable to interact with the world that was once his home. The last resemblance of his human form were his eyes. The full moon rose as the girl dressed in red began to dance upon the roof, not caring if she slipped nor fearing it. As she danced gracefully she sang a soft yet dark melody. Her eyes as bright as the Moon and her white hair glistened in the moonlight. Her dress crimson red decorated with red pearls, silk ribbon and roses twirled as she danced. As the song she sang howled as though a wolf crying to the Moon. She appeared every full moon to remind the people of the tragedy that befell her in that castle so, so long ago. Reminding them of a tragedy. Her voice like a siren pulled the darkest memories from one's mind and reminded them of the most horrible tragic things that have happened to them.
@@evok3226 My, l've since forgotten about this post. I don't know yet if I'll get around to turning this into a novel, but I am currently in the process of writing two books. I don't know when or if I'll ever finish them though as I'm still in school, but I dream. The books I plan to write and publish are mostly in the same or similar worlds if you're interested in that kind of thing. I also have completely different worlds planed as well. If you want I can try to expand on this in this comet section.

I loved listening to this tracklist! Set deep in the woods where a girl and a boy spend their time speaking of supernatural creatures. The funny thing is that the girl (she's the protagonist, by the way) doesn't believe in the supernatural but will over time. Sets the mood for the book I'm working on. Besides the mystical and dark music, the best part is reading short stories in the comment section and seeing glimpses of people's creativity in their minds. Well done with the choices of songs, it gives me a mysterious aura in the songs, so much that it makes my skin have goosebumps on it.

I hear a voice screaming my name in the distance. Running faster my aching legs are about to give out. 'I can't give up now, not when I have made it this far. If I am caught...what would happen to me.' As I weave through the trees, a fork in the road appears. Left. I must go left. 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘵𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘴. Like he meant everything to me. ‘But…why is his face smearing.’ Everything starts to smear into a black mess. Not a trace of the recent ethereal moment was left. I jolted back, peering up at the starless night sky. Realizing I was on the ground, I quickly got up and everything was just as it was before. Gloomy, dull, and utterly abandoned. The walls of the mansion were worn and chipped. ‘What was that? 𝘞𝘩𝘰 was that?’ “Elithia…” I whispered to myself. ‘I know that name. Where have I heard that name?' I expelled the senseless thought and searched for the door to the mansion. ‘Maybe there will be some place to sleep here.’ Seeing the door, I open it as it creaked from disuse and let it close when I entered. 𝘚𝘭𝘢𝘮 And thus, my story began.
This right here is what my soul yearns for everyday. You my dear friend squeezed the blood 🩸 right out of my heart ❤️. It’s painful and beautiful at the same time. Makes me want to cry 💧.
Why is this music so lovely and calm, and yet dreadfully suspicious and suspenseful? Like someone somewhere is getting murdered outside the opera house while I get ready for the opera, blissfully unaware that I am the next target. Yet its also romantic and nostalgic and tragic and haunting like a sunbeam filtered through the dusty windows and curtains of a beautiful old house filled with echoes and memories.

A friend of mine sent me that video today, I'm absolutely mesmerised with that magic which can be as misterious as moving, either promising or softly sobbing, just as she is, but I'll do what I can to keep that bright side. Wanted to use the opportunity to tell my friend if she ever finds it, she's great, I'm thankfull we met by pure luck and I hope for a coffee we are about to have sooner or later. Wish that nice small talks we have at nights will continue for years, cause that voice she speaks is truthly enchanting
This is exactly what I've been looking for a theme song for a DND npc character. And just before the rise of music gets to much it drops back down, as if they realize they are still trapped and there's no way out.
Short writing practice? The first thing was the burning feeling. The amount of pain that came with it was second. But the heat was what he recognized first. His throat ached and was raw from his screams. It wasn't supposed to be like this. He was supposed to be able to prove them wrong. And yet here he was, being destructive to himself and his surroundings. What had started as a spark had become a small flame. Not even capable of giving visible smoke. He had been so beautiful. With a head of white hair, matching his brows and eyelashes. Cyan eyes and a smile to prove that angels were real. Pale skin that made his sister and mother envious. Then the flame had started to pop and sparks rose from it. It hadn't been a bad thing. He was simply lighting everyone else's creativity the way that his had been lit. But the bright cyan eyes dimmed. The the flame had grown bigger. It started to leave ashes and burn scores on the wood. His eyes weren't glowing anymore. His smile had twisted into something else. His hair was not a beautiful thing anymore. It was sardonic. Bruises and scratches marred his skin. It was a bonfire now. Burning strongly, barely contained. The heat was pushing people away. They figured out what his smile was. It was sadistic. He watched with a sad kind of amusement as he lost his closest friends. His mother and sister. His brother. His father was never there anyways. So what did it matter if he lost him too? Then it got out of control. It was a wildfire, burning down everything in its path. He grew skinny. Too skinny. His younger brother and sister grew taller than him. His cyan eyes were dull. He was getting sick. He was cold. So cold. Why was he cold now, when all his life it had been warm? He needed to be warm. He climbed the hill. And he struck the match...
"Absolute peace, isn't it? "When you were a child like many, you had been dreaming about finally hopping into fantasyland. Tales of knights slaying dragons, fairies and pirates, wizards and witches, all their lives seem too good to be true, hm? ... "What's the matter, darling? You seem fazed by what you saw. ... "Different from your expectations? Haha... that's what they all say. "Rather than a sugarcoat, I prefer calling it an abridgement. "Sometimes, you'd even forget that heroes are people, not saints. "_Did you *really* think they had never hidden skeletons in their closets?_"
I've been working on a certain short story as of late. It's meant to be a darker take on Hansel and Gretel, and while I want it to be my own work and for it to have some elements of reality, I still want it to also have a sort of fairytale feeling to it. Now, I've seen this playlist floating around RUclips for some time now, but for some reason I've never actually listened to it before. I think now would be the perfect time, as this seems to be just the mood I'm going for with this particular story. :)

He was quite gentle beside the fact that he was a killer, but then again, wasn't she also a killer? His face was hidden behind the black and white mask and her face was hidden behind a black lace mask. They waltzed the night away...

I'm sorry in advance for bad writing assuming anyone even sees it Vastiena, or Tina, is a small alien She is 4'5, and has human-like features. You'll recognize her with her layered long skirt, light blue skin, lavender hair, and bright yellow eyes. She met some friends along the way, now living on earth on a mansion-like home in a city based on its loneliness.. boring-ness. She is not alone, however, with a small group of friends living there too, including the owner of the mansion, all being young and adventurous. Some of them come from a magical land that is bright and colorful. One with all sorts of creatures. Tina was drawn to fire. It's long, impressing glow.. it's power.. it's feared nature. She loved starting little fires, like setting fire to a leaf for example. She wanted to stand out. She was blending in more and more with her group and didn't really have anything special about her. She had this friend of hers, who was plotting something big. Something she couldn't imagine yet. This person.. she felt connected to. There was another, though. A guy visited them often, also from this fantastical land. He was.. powerful. He had luck on his side, making him seem invincible. She and him had become good friends as the months passed. That's when her previous friend took action, launching a knife at him out of nowhere. Though Tina attempted to block the shot, it was a direct hit. Tina had feared the worst, but she learned she could trust this luck of his. This person survived, only mentally scarred. Tina, this friend who she ended up forgiving, and another person who she had grown close to had gotten engaged. The friend of hers was outcasted for the deeds they did, though still lived in the mansion. Tina kept close to both the friends, while the third person she got engaged to rarely showed up. This didn't make them unfaithful, of course, just.. they faded away into the background. There's also the mansion owner, a rich person who just has this.. dark presence. Tina wanted to impress them, and it felt like they had just encouraged her fiancee to try harder and harder to be this fabled antagonist. Tina feared she was turning out to be the same. The owner constantly accused her of betrayal, since she hung out so much with the 'enemy'. In reality, she could connect with this enemy and felt like she could empathize with their actions. They just wanted to stand out. Now people got angry with her for never stopping her fiancee, even if she had seen them hurt people. Those quiet yelled at her, and her fiancee wasn't attempting to support Tina at all so far. It pushed her over the edge when the mansion owner tricked her, abandoning her and her two fiancees in a big lake (long story), leaving them to drown. Tina took this as a sign that she was grouped the same as her fiancee, not that she hated her fiancee, but that they clearly viewed them as evil. And now here too. She trudged back home, only one thought in mind. One that she had contemplated for months now, but finally in the mindstate to carry it out. She tried opening the mansion door, only to find it locked. Then, she lifted a stone near the building. Under it was a box of matches. She looked at the building that turned what she knew backwards and upside-down, her fiancees by her side, ready to ignite. Credit to the other people in this roleplay it's a lot longer than this and kind of isn't being done anymore but hey when inspiration hits it sure does hit As the flames rose higher, Tina couldn't help but smile. The people could escape, they had they key and she knew it, but she just wanted to see them in fear. To be respected. The Pyromania Trio has formed. As nobody was leaving, she grew anxious and even scared. They had they key, right? Surely? Had something gone wrong? She stood as panic flooded her. She didn't want to KILL anybody. She rushed to the side of the building and stared at the kitchen window, taking a deep breath. She smashed the window with a rock, crawling into the kitchen. She ran as fast as she could to the main of the mansion, seeing her friends huddled together in the living room. 'I die with my life's work' the owner claimed, and those with them agreed the same. Tina attempted to get them out by force, but as the fire grew closer, she struggled to breath. Knowing she was too small to to do anything, she hurried back out before she could suffocate, and her trio escaped in the mansion's car together.

The best books and films for children are those with a dark atmosphere. Coraline, Monster House, Tim Burton's animations and especially The Secret Garden... I always love that what makes me melancholic and gives me this dark, beautiful and magical atmosphere.

And she was dancing on the castle's roof, a full moon shining above her, her body covered in red. She wasn't afraid of falling at all, taking every step with grace looking like a ballet dancer, her white dress swirling in the air following her movements. Nobody knew how long has passed since that little girl was alive, but during the full moon nights, she kept on dancing on that roof, piano playing a dark tune in the background, reminding everyone of the tragedy that took place in that empty castle many years before.

Like a woman looking for her lost love she's slowly remembering overtime, only to discover their thirst for knowledge turned him into a multi-dimensional monster who gave up his humanity so she can live. The condition was that she would lose her memories, but fate found a way to bring them together again.

Cinderella, decided to burn down her house, with her ste-mother and step-sister trapped inside. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.
Alice, managed to escape Wonderland. But her mind was bonkers, unable to see what's reality and what's fantasy.

The tale of Snow White. Everyone knows it. A beautiful young girl with hair as black as night, lips as red as blood, and skin as white as snow. The young girl who was the fairest one of them all. Who lived with seven dwarves who cherished her. Who died young but was brought back to life with a true love's kiss.
I became Snow White. I was so sure I was going to have a happy ending. A happy ending married to a prince, surrounded by people I love who also loved me. But life is unfair. And the tale of Snow White suddenly became darker and far more bloody. Darker than the hair of Snow White. Bloodier than the lips of Snow White.
As reality settled in, it felt like the room grew colder, freezing cold. I felt a shiver run down my spine as I continued to shake. Looking down revealed the blood on my hands and on my dress. I... didn't mean to kill him. I... I had to kill him.
The rest could come home at any moment. Thinking fast I ran out the back of the cottage, grabbing the small corpse and a shovel on the way, and ran deep into the forest.
I dug a fresh hole in the ground, hoisting the corpse into the hole. After burying the body, I thought back to the events prior to this.
I didn't mean to kill... In fact, this should have never happened!
And yet, here I am, beside two dirt mounds. Mounds that cover the terrible deed I've done.
I... I killed them...
I didn't mean to... I... I had to...

A fellow lies in his grandmother's cabin bed. It is night and moonlight caresses his sleeping form.
It does not take long for him to awake. Subtle sounds of a piano are heard from the nearby forest.
He tiptoes to the front door and puts on his blue coat. His barefeet grow comfortable against the cool grass. Music seems to float across trees. He follows and it dances in the opposite direction.
Deeper and darker does the forest grow.
He has tread this path before. A cool and soothing breeze takes his hand and leads him further.
There in a parting of trees is a young boy with wolfish ears playing on a piano of air.
The blue coat falls to the ground and feet inevitable walk. They head towards this strange boy until they are stood beside him.
The wolfish boy does not look up but speaks:" I had hoped you would like your lullabies."
The stars knew, oh, the stars knew
this tale would continue
but instead of red and something new
There remains the old, only tainted with blue.

Imagine having to relive every memory of a story of you with such gruesome and dark parts, being trapped in an eternal cycle of hell. Think about it. You can never escape this world. Every time the someone finishes your story another person opens that storybook and everything restarts. I think I would go insane if that happened to me. Kinda scary if you think about it. It gives me the same feeling of dark as a lone person walking through the apocalypse. Both all alone.

"I never thought that I could have you like this ...... like a fire in my arms, I did not think that even speck of light was mean for me"
He said softly while my head was still on his shoulder ... He sounded happy, but there was a melancholic tone in his voice, I had gotten to know him well, since the first time I fell into one of his balls between life and death. A quick accident, a terrible confusion ... and suddenly I was in a world between worlds, a plase of darkness. I had fallen into the realm between life and death, without anyone or anything.
Until a pair of deep eyes found me, scary at first he was just supposed to lead me to the other side but that didn't happen .... I found myself lost and scared in the presence of one of the sons of death, a prince of the limbo, but to my surprise he was kind ... and sweet and wanted to do good ... and as time went by with me in his company .... him, his good heart and kind demeanor, his white hair and smug smile, his tall frame, all of he ... became this warm place that I no longer wanted to leave ...
I could have stayed comfortably still lean on his shoulder, reminiscent. ... but as i sigh at our past memories, he adverted my dispersion and rub his cheek on the top of my head, making me pull away from my thoughts.
i let out a small giggle and hold him tight in response ... "I could dance in this limbo forever .. as long it is by your side" ...i finally said.
But then there was a pause, and I could feel that my words were not a pleasant surprise as i would have hoped, because his posture changed beneath my arms. Until suddenly he grabbed my waist and made me took carefully a step back, causing our dancing to stop and breaking our embrace
"but .. I want you to live" - he said with his gaze fixed on me ...
"no ...." - I pronounce under my breath, in almost a whisper ....... are you.. are you going to send me back? - i asked with a note of panic in my voice
He looked at me with sadness, and for a second It seemed that doubt could peak through his eyes ... but promptly shook his head ... "we both know that you came back here because of the consequences that accident left on you" ... "But also that time you left to return to the living world was the right thing to do."
"But no" .."no" ! ... "I won't .." - I raised my voice trying to protest, but he cut me off ..
"I want you" - he said softly - .. "i want you to run under the sun, i want you" ... "to see those beautiful sunsets that you have told me so much about". - and continued - "I want your beautiful face to be illuminated by the flowers that you can discover while walking the earth" ....
"And you know there won't be another chance, although ...... "I wouldn't mind breaking the rules a thousand times for you" - he paused and stroked my hair, as he offer a cheeky smile ...
"But I know you, lovely" ... "and I know how much you love life, tell me then that I am not right" ... "that you will not miss it" ... - he finally concluded.
My words got stuck in my throat, no matter how much I wanted to deny it he was right ... i loved life and everything in it, i really loved it .. and even when he was by my side ther was a tiny and deep part of me missed her so much.
However, seeing him before me made me realize .... there was something more important than I, making a choice only for me , what really made my words got stuck .....
Even though I could give up the living world for him, how could I stay without him breaking the rules? ..... He wanted me safe, could I offer the same if I stayed ? .... after all this place was just a step for any soul, not a permanent place.
I had put him at risk before, my whole stay in the realm the first time was a big risk he took and continuing to do so could only make it worse, until unleashing great consequences or awaken the true evil that governed the realm ... his father, Death himself, who then would not hesitate to punish him.
For a few seconds i remained immobile looking at nothing, hoping .. that i could find a solution scrambling every possibility for us to not be apart. It wasn't until I met his gaze and could see into his eyes that I knew it then ... I loved him .... as the resolution came to me, i finally lowered my head full of shame and tears ... I could not put him through that, I would not allow him to risk more...
I got close to him once more and slowly put a hand over his cheek.
"Could you run with me under the sun?" .... - i said at last hopeful, even when i knew what the answer would be
A heavy smile escaped his lips and as he cupped my face said - "this shadow" - referring to himself -... "will always appear when you enjoy in the sun "
"I love you" .. said he ... and as he lean to kiss me I was envolved between an icy wind and a bright light, and lost consciousness
The only true way to listen to this as you write is next to a warm fireplace and with rain tapping down onto the windows of your old, Victorian manor that you somehow inherited from a long distant relative you had no idea of. Completely unaware of the secret rooms and passages that lay in the walls, behind paintings and bookshelves. Maybe even a spirit or two haunting the halls of their old home, wondering why a new face has suddenly waltzed into their house uninvited. Sometimes you can still hear the faint echo of old parties in the dining hall, a quiet hum of what was the main entertainment spot, the static hiss of a gramophone echoing out into the rest of the manor at exactly Midnight.
It may be an odd house, with it's quirks and creaky floorboards that always squeak when no one's near them. But you've decided to call it home, and maybe. .
The spirits like you too.
This description is absolutely wonderful for setting the tone and atmosphere. I would love to be in that kind of scene, hearing this play out. Thank you for the imagery.

The dramatic, magical, almost distant yet emotional tone that these take on reminds me of a particular period of my childhood. This was a time when I was much better at playing piano, because I had practiced more and gone to lessons, but the sounds on my cheaper piano were less clear and sounded old like the ones from these songs. I had a balcony that I would play next to with the door open, and the way the sounds echoed on a quiet evening or during rain felt so deep and magical. I usually would play in this melancholy tone - as if yearning for something far away, or walking across an old battlefield, or calling out to someone lost in a storm.
This wasn't really the way I expected to feel from this video when I clicked it, but I feel nostalgic for that magical time.
I would play for hours through the evening and into the night, as it rained especially. And when it wasn't raining the moonlight might've shined through my skylight (yes I had both a balcony and skylight 😭 I miss it) or the birds would respond to my song.
And I would sing too. I would usually improvise, but I used to be able to sing with a richness and power back when I didn't have as much trouble with Asthma.
Now my hand is too injured to play nonetheless practice - it's been far too long since I've been able to play songs like these.
And I get out of breath quite easily, with my new health condition (in addition to Asthma) making me get real lightheaded and winded easily.

I'm very sorry to hear that your health has become fragile and limited your ability to do the things that you are passionate about doing, or is keeping you from doing them all together. I too am dealing with what my pulmonologist calls "late onset, severe and uncontrollable asthma" and it has greatly hampered my ability to be as involved in my artist work and recreational pursuits as I had been in the past. I still press on but have learned in a way, to live a different life. Everything has changed, from my diet, my sleep patterns, my relationships, my appearance (mainly due to the insane amount of prednisone I'm being forced to take in order to keep my airways opened). And yet in the face of all this, my passion for my artwork remains, much like your passion for music and playing the piano. Even when I was broadsided by the diagnosis of a secondary disease that has parallels with asthma (Churg Strauss syndrome) I have a desire to keep creating and imagining and dreaming. If anything, I can live the life I want vicariously through my artwork. I hope you find a way to keep doing the things love, even when you don't feel quite so lovely. I wish you the very best and I do hope you'll see improvement in your health. Best regards.
I can totally relate to this😭 During my childhood, i would get hospitalized alot due to my fragile heath but it didn't stop me from my goals of becoming an animator and artists. At that time, I hoped my health would be strong enough and i would imagine fairytales while I'm stuck at bed
But now... I'm a teenager, my health is becoming stronger. My mental health is the one getting weaker, i would get bullied and left alone. Now i daydream of being in a fairytale to escape the harshness instead of getting out of bed 🤎
I was sick constantly as a kid, but that tapered off in middle school, and I've been through a lot of crap. I live in the middle of nowhere, in the woods of Western Montana. When I was in middle and high school, I would take my guitar, and go play emotional songs on a large rock on a hill in the woods behind my house. I would sing the lyrics like Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody "I don't wanna die. Sometimes wish I'd never been born at all." I'd just pour my soul, my sadness, my pain into it. That's what I did to cope with the crap, but I'd also turned to self harm as well. I'm three years clean from cutting, and I'm going on four years with my SO.
I don't really play anymore. But that's ok. As we grow, our circumstances and our needs change. It's ok to let go of things, but never forget them.
I wish you health and luck in all of your endeavors. Never forget: you are not alone.

I've been connected with music my entire life. My mom playing music while I was in the womb, my dance lessons that I took from age 2 to 11, getting into band when I entered middle school and learning to play the flute, getting into marching band and the top band at my high school, etc.
And then suddenly I graduated and it all stopped. I don't practice my flute or piano anymore. I haven't played since I fell into a deep pit of depression in 2020 after my dog died. I haven't picked up anything since and it's slowly chipping away at me as this is the first time in my life when I haven't been connected to music like I used to be. Now all I can do is sit on the deck we have in the backyard, trying to think how the hell I'm going to get my life together so I can support myself. I'm doing nothing. I'm not in school, I'm not working, I don't have my driver's license since I'm fighting severe driving anxiety (I don't get anxious like ever lol). I'm falling into anti social habits again and pushing people away. My parents and I talked about therapy but haven't taken any action.
Thank you for bringing that mystical feeling back by describing your childhood. There's something so different about making your own music and expressing yourself. Y'all that have commented here are such cool people and it's nice to not feel alone.

There’s something so fascinating about classical music to me. It can feel very sad and depressing at times, but it also makes me feel nostalgic/remember memories that I’ve never lived before, or it could make me feel as happy and ecstatic as I can be. I’m not sure what it is about this type of music that makes me feel these things but I really like it.
I guess this was a roundabout way of saying that I really enjoyed this playlist and am looking forward for future uploads ^^

Under the moon, it seemed as if she was a moonchild. Saying that she was beautiful would be an understatement. She was gorgeous.
The way she danced under the moonlight in the Eternal Garden was full of elegance. It was majestic, magnificent and......captive.
She danced ever so gracefully, it captivated the eyes of the Prince Kael, the Prince of death. His eyes followed every moment of the young maidan who danced in the garden, amid the lilies, in her own world. What was the music for her? The sound of the breeze passing by or the leaves shaking. Was it the voice of the night's little creatures or the wolves howling far away?
The young maiden heard some quite steps, moving towards her. She stopped. Her eyes were still closed and she took a deep breath. The very first thing she saw opening her honey brown eyes were black hair that were difficult to differentiate from the night. And then she met the pair of golden eyes. And it's owner asked,"What is it, making you dance?"
The young maiden smiled and answered, "The happiness that can't reside within my heart has came out as music, sir."
His eyes sparkled. He was curious to know about it all a little more. But he knew the best was to stop here.
"Would you like to be a part of my happiness, sir?" Her sweet voice asked.
"Strangers, My lady"
She chuckled and settled the hair that fall on her face dur to wind. She extended her hand and said, "Hazel."
Prince Kael parted hia lips to say something but stopped. He smiled and took her hand, kissed it and twirl her around. She was taken aback, but soon smiled and enjoyed the moment.
It was a perfect moment. Under the moonlight, in the Eternal Garden, amid the lilies, two youths dancing with the music of happiness.
But a little closure look and one would know what happened at that starry night.
The graceful dance soon took a wild turn. Because at last, just a moment spent together can't chage anything.
And he stabbed her.
And she smiled, for she saw it coming. How could have she thought of surviving? She knew what was coming and she expected it.
Silent tears rolled down on the cheeks, of the Prince. He knew he was wrong but what he was made for, he had to do it. The young maiden gave a bittersweet smile and said goodbye to the world.
And for the centuries and centuries ahead, the youths danced in the Eternal Garden under the moonlight amidst the lilies. The lilies full of blood.

It was him, but not in appearance. Not anymore. He had given up his physical humanity so she can live a happy life. A human life. But he would be lying if he wasn't happy to see her again. I'm writing a poem while hearing this, and it's strangely relaxing. I never thought I'd ever write a poem
The full moon rose as the girl dressed in red began to dance upon the roof, not caring if she slipped nor fearing it. As she danced gracefully she sang a soft yet dark melody. Her eyes as bright as the Moon and her white hair glistened in the moonlight. Her dress crimson red decorated with red pearls, silk ribbon and roses twirled as she danced. As the song she sang howled as though a wolf crying to the Moon. She appeared every full moon to remind the people of the tragedy that befell her in that castle so, so long ago. Reminding them of a tragedy. Her voice like a siren pulled the darkest memories from one's mind and reminded them of the most horrible tragic things that have happened to them.

I don't know when or if I'll ever finish them though as I'm still in school, but I dream. The funny thing is that the girl (she's the protagonist, by the way) doesn't believe in the supernatural but will over time. Sets the mood for the book I'm working on. Startled, I look back to the boy. His face is blurred but just looking at him feels so... comfortable. Like he meant everything to me. ‘But…why is his face smearing.’
Everything starts to smear into a black mess. Not a trace of the recent ethereal moment was left.
I jolted back, peering up at the starless night sky. Realizing I was on the ground, I quickly got up and everything was just as it was before. Gloomy, dull, and utterly abandoned. The walls of the mansion were worn and chipped.
‘What was that? 𝘞𝘩𝘰 was that?’
“Elithia…” I whispered to myself. ‘I know that name. Where have I heard that name?'
I expelled the senseless thought and searched for the door to the mansion. ‘Maybe there will be some place to sleep here.’
Seeing the door, I open it as it creaked from disuse and let it close when I entered.

A friend of mine sent me that video today, I'm absolutely mesmerised with that magic which can be as misterious as moving, either promising or softly sobbing, just as she is, but I'll do what I can to keep that bright side. Wanted to use the opportunity to tell my friend if she ever finds it, she's great, I'm thankfull we met by pure luck and I hope for a coffee we are about to have sooner or later. Short writing practice?
The first thing was the burning feeling. The amount of pain that came with it was second. But the heat was what he recognized first. His throat ached and was raw from his screams. It wasn't supposed to be like this. He was supposed to be able to prove them wrong. And yet here he was, being destructive to himself and his surroundings.
What had started as a spark had become a small flame. Not even capable of giving visible smoke.
He had been so beautiful. With a head of white hair, matching his brows and eyelashes. Cyan eyes and a smile to prove that angels were real. Pale skin that made his sister and mother envious.
Then the flame had started to pop and sparks rose from it.
It hadn't been a bad thing. He was simply lighting everyone else's creativity the way that his had been lit. But the bright cyan eyes dimmed.
The the flame had grown bigger. It started to leave ashes and burn scores on the wood.
His eyes weren't glowing anymore. His smile had twisted into something else. His hair was not a beautiful thing anymore. It was sardonic. Bruises and scratches marred his skin.
It was a bonfire now. Burning strongly, barely contained. The heat was pushing people away.
They figured out what his smile was. It was sadistic. He watched with a sad kind of amusement as he lost his closest friends. His mother and sister. His brother. His father was never there anyways. So what did it matter if he lost him too?
Then it got out of control. It was a wildfire, burning down everything in its path.
He grew skinny. Too skinny. His younger brother and sister grew taller than him. His cyan eyes were dull. He was getting sick. He was cold. So cold. Why was he cold now, when all his life it had been warm? He needed to be warm. He climbed the hill.
And he struck the match...
"Absolute peace, isn't it?
"When you were a child like many, you had been dreaming about finally hopping into fantasyland. Tales of knights slaying dragons, fairies and pirates, wizards and witches, all their lives seem too good to be true, hm?
...
"What's the matter, darling? You seem fazed by what you saw.

"Different from your expectations? Haha... that's what they all say.
"Rather than a sugarcoat, I prefer calling it an abridgement.

I've been working on a certain short story as of late. It's meant to be a darker take on Hansel and Gretel, and while I want it to be my own work and for it to have some elements of reality, I still want it to also have a sort of fairytale feeling to it. Now, I've seen this playlist floating around RUclips for some time now, but for some reason I've never actually listened to it before. His face was hidden behind the black and white mask and her face was hidden behind a black lace mask. They waltzed the night away...

Vastiena, or Tina, is a small alien
She is 4'5, and has human-like features. You'll recognize her with her layered long skirt, light blue skin, lavender hair, and bright yellow eyes.
She met some friends along the way, now living on earth on a mansion-like home in a city based on its loneliness.. boring-ness. She is not alone, however, with a small group of friends living there too, including the owner of the mansion, all being young and adventurous. Some of them come from a magical land that is bright and colorful. One with all sorts of creatures.
Tina was drawn to fire. It's long, impressing glow.. it's power.. it's feared nature. She loved starting little fires, like setting fire to a leaf for example.
She wanted to stand out. She was blending in more and more with her group and didn't really have anything special about her.
She had this friend of hers, who was plotting something big. Something she couldn't imagine yet. This person.. she felt connected to. There was another, though. A guy visited them often, also from this fantastical land. He was.. powerful. He had luck on his side, making him seem invincible. She and him had become good friends as the months passed.
That's when her previous friend took action, launching a knife at him out of nowhere. Though Tina attempted to block the shot, it was a direct hit. Tina had feared the worst, but she learned she could trust this luck of his. This person survived, only mentally scarred.
Tina, this friend who she ended up forgiving, and another person who she had grown close to had gotten engaged.
The friend of hers was outcasted for the deeds they did, though still lived in the mansion. Tina kept close to both the friends, while the third person she got engaged to rarely showed up. This didn't make them unfaithful, of course, just.. they faded away into the background.
There's also the mansion owner, a rich person who just has this.. dark presence. Tina wanted to impress them, and it felt like they had just encouraged her fiancee to try harder and harder to be this fabled antagonist.
Tina feared she was turning out to be the same.
The owner constantly accused her of betrayal, since she hung out so much with the 'enemy'. In reality, she could connect with this enemy and felt like she could empathize with their actions. They just wanted to stand out.
Now people got angry with her for never stopping her fiancee, even if she had seen them hurt people. Those quiet yelled at her, and her fiancee wasn't attempting to support Tina at all so far.
It pushed her over the edge when the mansion owner tricked her, abandoning her and her two fiancees in a big lake (long story), leaving them to drown. Tina took this as a sign that she was grouped the same as her fiancee, not that she hated her fiancee, but that they clearly viewed them as evil. And now here too.
She trudged back home, only one thought in mind. One that she had contemplated for months now, but finally in the mindstate to carry it out. She tried opening the mansion door, only to find it locked. Then, she lifted a stone near the building. Under it was a box of matches. She looked at the building that turned what she knew backwards and upside-down, her fiancees by her side, ready to ignite.

As the flames rose higher, Tina couldn't help but smile. The people could escape, they had they key and she knew it, but she just wanted to see them in fear. To be respected.
The Pyromania Trio has formed.
As nobody was leaving, she grew anxious and even scared. They had they key, right? Surely? Had something gone wrong?
She stood as panic flooded her. She didn't want to KILL anybody. She rushed to the side of the building and stared at the kitchen window, taking a deep breath. She smashed the window with a rock, crawling into the kitchen. She ran as fast as she could to the main of the mansion, seeing her friends huddled together in the living room.
'I die with my life's work'
the owner claimed, and those with them agreed the same.
Tina attempted to get them out by force, but as the fire grew closer, she struggled to breath. Knowing she was too small to to do anything, she hurried back out before she could suffocate, and her trio escaped in the mansion's car together.
