I miss Belarus, Minsk and Mogilev.
My wife is from Mogilev. Was there for 2 months for May and June. We’ve been going back and forward from US for the last 10 years. So much changed in that time!
Such as?
Was still very much Soviet back then. One western stile restaurants had just appeared at the Gubernskaya Hotel which was a new hotel for the area around 2010.
There was a McDonalds and TGI Fridays in Minsk back then. There was no English menus.
Went down to Mir Castle. Was a shock for them to even see a western person. Especially at the soviet hotels.
The Square you started your walk from which is also the main bus stop was just government building where the shopping mall is. Just before the crosswalk that you crossed is still a government run mall. There’s a Italian restaurant just after the crosswalk on the right across the street that was also new and very popular in 2010.
Do you recommend me to visit belarus?

Loved this new style of content...Instead of just rambling 😅 in Minsk you can occasionally take short excursions like these in the provinces & show us the life there while talking to the camera (if you have to)....
