If you haven't already snapped Jared's glasses, PLEASE don't. I've had glasses since I was six or seven and, up until recently, my prescription glasses always came from a clinic that had their glasses donated so that poor families didn't have to pay. Please consider donating them if you can. It makes a really big difference to families who need help.

My husband got lasik done when i was 7 months pregnant. Its been 4 years. One of the Best days of his life he says. He tells people with glasses ALL the time, go, get it done. You WONT regret it. Not even for a sec. He had glasses since he was a kid. Hes so happy to not wear contacts or glasses anymore. Im so happy for you!!!! Congratulations on perfect vision! My husband has perfect. I thought 20/20 was perfect. He has better then 20/20. To see the world in perfect vision!!! Good for you.
My dad had surgery. The eye drops are a must. Set a timer to put in drops. You heal so much better with them.

Yay Jared! Got me a little teary eyed too! My son had PRK done last fall and he was nervous but so happy to have the freedom to see all the time! And Ellie absolutely loved watching my kids play when they were little!! It is like watching them grow!

My husband went in for lasik last weekend. Our running joke was worst case scenario he goes blind and I get to quit going to the gym haha 😆
It’s so emotional to have worn glasses for so long and have them slightly interfere with some aspects of like, especially when contacts aren’t your thing.

Yay for lasik!!!! I got mine done a week after turning 30 years old also. I started with glasses at age 4, so I completely understand. You tearing up made me tear up. I just got mine done in September, so it hasn't even been a year. Enjoy seeing for the first time! 😊
Hoopes Vision is definitely the way to go! Had mine done 1 year ago and have 20/15 vision now. Wish I would have done it years ago!
By the way the valium (how ever in the heck you spell it) really is awesome. I was so relaxed that I passed out in between when they cut the flaps on the way to the massage chair. IT was the weirdest feeling ever because you cant see then and then you wake up completely relaxed. Best "nap" ever.

Congrats for your eyes surgery! I had one too last year. Unfortunately for me it didn't work how I expected, it didn't improve my vision, but luckily i have a good eye that is doing the work for both my eyes. I am watching you since Ellie was pregnant with Jackson, and i want to tell you that you guys are an inspiration and i love watching you! Lot of hugs from Romania! 🤗

I’m 20 years old and I just had LASIK after wearing classes since 3rd grade. It is amazing to see everything so clearly. I’m so happy for the both of you!
Congratulations, Jared. It is life changing! I had mine done at 40 and I am now 58 and my vision is still great! It is so worth it. Enjoy!

I am so happy for you, Jared! And Ellie is so cute. My boyfriend actually had his lasic a few months ago and the difference for him is amazing! This is definitely life changing.
I’ve been using glasses since I was 9, I’m 21 now and my eyesight is horrible but I’m terrified to get this procedure!! Watching this made me feel a bit more relaxed about it, just seeing how it’s all over pretty soon! Hopefully I can toughen up and get it done 😵

It IS life-changing! I could tell you were getting emotional. Touched my heart. I am so happy for you, Jared. Now as your children are getting more active you will be able to play right alongside of them without having to say ever again, “watch out for daddy’s glasses,” or...cooking or barbecuing for the family and instantly from lifting a lid, your glasses get all steamed-up! 👍

Congratulations Jared! Nobody knows how exciting and emotional this is unless they have this procedure. I started wearing glasses in the 4th grade. I hated my glasses. After the procedure they told me to go home and rest. I took a nap and when I woke up I could see the clock on my nightstand! The clock was clear, I could read it without glasses or contacts! I was amazed!! That was 19 years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. I am so happy for you.

Oh wow, Jared, I am sooo happy for you that you were able to get LASIK. I struggle with my damaged eyes each and everyday. When I was 4 years old, I was diagnosed with Stevens-Johnsons syndrome and from that, the after effects were damage to my eyes. I wear sunglasses all the time, even at night because I am sooo light sensitive. My eyes hurt and feel better when I close them. It’s not easy but I am thankful each and everyday that I can see. I am legally blind but at least I have some vision. It was beautiful when you and Ellie said, it’s okay if you go blind, Ellie will be your eyes. Luckily, my husband is my eyes. I have better vision days and not sooo good eye days. I love your whole family and love watching you guys! Sending sooo much love from NY❤️

Jared, I'm so excited for you! I wish it wouldn't have been overcast because when you see the detail on the mountains...it's AMAZING! You are going to be able to see the details better than with glasses. I had my procedure with Hoopes 12 years, and I don't regret it one bit.

I'm 30 years old with macular degeneration and I only wish there were a procedure that could be done to correct my eyes.
Beth my goodness your so young . Sorry to hear you have macular degeneration . What type is it dry or wet ? My sisters husband has it his mother had it also when she was alive so I guess it's a hereditary condition .
Bob Shaw I have dry macular degeneration where I have blurred central vision. Unfortunately it is hereditary but I'm not sure which side of my family I got it from. Luckily though my little boys don't seem to have any issues with their eyes as of now.
I'm happy for you too, Jared. I know so well what it's like to have vision issues. I'm 53 and been wearing glasses since about age 7. I don't even remember not having glasses. I can't see anything if I take them off, which is only at bed time. If they get moved, I wouldn't be able to find them. I was told I could get lasik but I'd still have to wear glasses. Last couple years I've been really struggling just to see with glasses. So happy you were able to have your vision fixed.

I am super fearful of anything with eyes. This was great to see your experience like this. I can't wait to hear updates as time goes on. I also am very visually impaired and have worn glasses since I was 8. I started with contacts when I was 14 and they are a great option, but also have limitations, but fear has kept me from surgery, though I was told years ago I was an excellent candidate for it. Who knows, maybe it will be in my future, but I will keep watching and see how it affects Jared first. Thank you so much for sharing this.

I got glasses when I was in third grade and contacts in fifth. I have been thinking about getting this procedure when I am older, hopefully after college. This really helped to educate me on the procedure. Congrats Jared, that is awesome and I can’t wait to hear how it worked

Watching some parts of the surgery had me dying!! It looked so incredibly uncomfortable. I was totally cringing, LOL!!
Jared on a little bit of valium is how I imagine I look on a Friday after a long, hard week. 😂 Also, I've been going back and forth on LASIK for SO long! I'm so excited to hear about how you recover and whether or not it's been a good decision for you or not.

Glad your surgery went well. My older brother had his done in Canada not long after they first started doing LASIK eye surgery and before it was legal in the US. 3 of my siblings have had it done now and love it.

I got lasik over two years ago (just in my left eye, like Ellie) and it has been awesome!! I get super freaked out with anyone/thing touching my eye, I couldn’t even wear contacts. So I was so nervous going into lasik but they gave me an extra “happy” pill and everything went perfect. So glad you did it, I can’t recommend it enough!
I had lasik done 16 years ago and have never regretted a moment of it

Oh Jared, so happy for you!! I had LASIK done five years ago and although I needed to have a correction done a year later, I've had 20/20 vision ever since! It's been amazing. I got choked too when I realized I could see, even when it wasn't perfect. Best decision I've ever made!
Wow! Congrats for Lasik! That is so exciting! I can't wait until the day that I can get it as well! Not being able to see without glasses or contacts is so frustrating. I totally understand. Sadly I am still too young and my prescription keeps changing so I am not eligible for Lasik yet but I am hoping one day I will be! So happy for you!

Happy for you, Jared! I had one eye done. It's been about 24 yrs. ago if I remember right. The other eye that I didn't have surgery on was near perfect and after having the surgery my eyesight in both eyes became 20/20 for it helped strengthen the eye I didn't have surgery on.
I've never regretted getting it done.
I was surprised to hear they did both eyes at once. Back then they recommended only getting one eye done at a time, just for a precaution.
Jared, you summed up perfectly how I’m feeling right now. I’m having cataract surgery 5/31(left eye) and 6/14(right eye). Everyone is supportive and it’s true these surgeries have come a long long way over the years BUT it’s still my eyes...
So glad everything went well for you.
