Great review n demo, just bought one to use with my new lg 42 inch C2 oled. I purchased a vesa adapter as the tv has 300x200 mounting pattern. The reason for price is the material as it's all metal. I purchased a huanu arm from amazon for 70.00 i believe, it was nice but the pivot head was thick plastic not metal but was still nice. Great review! Thanks so much for this, really helped with my purchase decision. Quick question if I may - would you say that from the table edge to the monitor screen it's about 4 or 5 inches? from what I can tell from 11:54
Thanks! Do you think this would support a 48" LG C1? Ideally, I want two monitors. The C1 and a 38" ultra wide LG. I would only use one of the monitors at a time, so I'd want a system that allows me to swivel monitors in such a way that makes it easy to switch between them when I need to.
you can mount the 48" LG C1 to the Ergotron HX by attaching a VESA Conversion Bracket to the Ergotron HX and then to the C1. I recommend this one! At about 11:41 I noticed you manipulating the arm not the monitor. Is that due to resistance in the arm joints? I’m curious how much force is exerted on the monitor to position the upper & lower arms. I’d be worried about damaging the monitor manipulating it directly. Thanks.
It was from the tension needed to hold this securely because the monitor is so heavy. I could loosen it but then it wouldn’t feel as stable as I’d like
Buy once and never ever think about, can this hold my monitor in a stable manner again. It’s a steep asking price for a accessory to a peripheral. However for almost any large computer monitor this arm feels more stable than anything else I have tried. The movement is smooth and it feels exceptionally stable. You may find something cheaper that works for you situation. Or you may end up collecting and trying to sell them as you find that it doesn’t suit your needs. Buy once, cry once and never think about it ever again. Supposedly the Amazon basics arm is the Ergotron LX.
Yeah, can confirm Amazon Basics Arm is exactly the same as Ergotron's LX, bought both, tried both, kept Amazon Basics as it was 60€ cheaper for the same exact product (only exception being the paint finishing, Ergotron is matte). Now I bought this Ergotron HX for my new 37.5" Ultrawide, want to test it vs Amazon basics once again.
@@chrisk6474 HX is rated to support from 20lbs up to around 42lbs --- The Amazon Basics (same as Ergotron LX) is rated up to 25.5lbs. If your monitor is 32" or smaller, the LX will generally be fine. If your monitory is bigger than 32" the HX might be more appropriate, but check the weight of your monitor as there is some overlap between the two arm types and a fairly significant difference in cost.

Those M6 screws are only just barely long, was about to rage if they were a little too short. Has anyone tried using the M5-M8 reducer's instead? Means slightly damaging the plastic.
I'm planning to get a standard monitor that is 32 inches and only about 15 lbs. Would this arm work with it or would it be too light? The viewsonic I have has a 100x100mm VESA mount. And can this mount clamp a 3 inch thick desk?
Your desk seems really close to the wall. Can you push the monitor further back if you have more space between the desk and wall? Or does the pivot stop it? Thanks
No because of the size and how it rotates. If you put it towards one edge of the desk and viewed it at and angel is would technically give a great distance but it would be harder to use in my opinion.
Its amazing for gaming but the size could be an issue if your desk isn’t very wide as this will need to sit back a good distance otherwise it’s way to much on the eyes.
