First watch of this show and Flat's is just great....Miss the channel 5 highlights show he used to do but this is worth a watch for all his insight and opinion
Agreed, doesn't make up for full highlights show as before with Durden but decent and Flats always good value. Agree on Good, Bad and the Rugby. That is quality and even Haskell has his moments! I recomend watching interview with Eddie Jones at Pennyhill, some excellent insights there.
@@stevedouglas3975 the other channel I have been watching is the BUCS Super Rugby. Great initiative and some good players out there at Durham, Cardiff, Hartpury College, Exeter, Loughborough...
As a long-term bath fan this season has been more than disappointing. We are worse than useless (even with an excellent squad) and the coaching staff - as many of them are bath 1st team graduates owe it to the fans to step down. We are all very disallusioned and cannot take much more
Going to be quite a scrap for top 4. Leicester, Sarries, and Quins all look good value. Between Exeter (Best all-around), Saints (Best attack), and Gloucester (Best set piece), who do you think will take 4th?
I love how you pointed out that when our teams win, we are "all yeah, biggest game ever!", but when they lose, "all it's not that big of a deal" um yeah it is always a big deal, win or lose. For some of us, it literally makes or breaks our week. Wins can bring you out of depression and losses can do the opposite, for some of us.
4:11 - would be great to see a Probables vs Possibles match - something like this: 1 Ellis Genge vs Mako Vunipola 2 Luke Cowan Dickie vs Jamie George 3 Kyle Sinckler vs Joe Marler 4 Maro Itoje vs Ted Hill 5 Jonny Hill vs Charlie Ewels 6 Courtney Lawes vs Jack Willis 7 Tom Curry vs Sam Underhill 8 Alex Dombrant vs Billy Vunipola 9 Ben Youngs vs Harry Randall 10 Marcus Smith vs George Ford 11 Jonny May vs Adam Radwan 12 Manu Tuilagi vs Owen Farrel 13 Henry Slade vs Joe Marchant 14 Anthony Watson vs Louis Lynagh 15 Freddie Stweard vs Max Malins (or some other combination pf players, take your pick) Maybe I am a bit blood-thirsty to want to see full-throttle gladiatorial combat, with players playing for their international careers (and I expect it would lead to loads of injuries)... but it should settle some of the arguments about who is the better player (teams/squads need to be balanced rather than just the best players in a head-to-head of course)... and it would make LOADS of money for the RFU.
@@azahra5602 - you are right! Maybe I was bamboozled by Eddie Jones saying he might play Marler as an emergency tight head in Japan world cup... but also no one has stood out to me at tighthead... I guess it should be Will Stuart at 3 in the Possibles, with Mako dropping out and Marler in his proper position then.
In the Bears-Tigers match last season Pat lam reversed a decision on why a player had been substituted, mere moments after having been asked to clarify the reasons by the referee and saying the opposite. ;) In short, when it became clear that the *real* reason would put Bristol at a disadvantage and very likely cost them the game, Pat Lam changed his mind and claimed the opposite. Did it break the rules? Technically not. Was it deceitful and poor sportsmanship? I'd argue yes. Weather this amounts to 'cheating' on the part of the Bear's team management depends very much on who you support (doesn't it always?), but Steve Borthwick was furious, as were the Tigers players, because the shenanigans went on for about 5mins, lost Tigers the momentum and ultimately the game. They were dominant in the final stages of the game.. Here's a link to a youtube video of the incident: ruclips.net/video/D09k_FvrXmU/видео.html
Fantastic show, really enjoy the commentary and humour. I always look forward to it. Great rugby synopsis without all the crap the other shows do, that spend too much time talking about themselves. Keep it going Flats.
Ford should still be no where near the England side, no matter how much Flats brown noses him he’s still not an international 10 he’s tried and failed, we need to focus on Smith now as our 10 as Smith offers more than just a kicking game
@@benphipps6498 no chance Farrell made Ford, whenever Farrell wasn’t there Ford had an absolute shocker every single time, Ford has been carried all through his career by Farrell
@@Danimal13 Farrell is an international standard fly-half but that's what he is, a fly-half. I know we haven't got much to go on but Smith also looked much better against South Africa when Farrell wasn't in the side. I don't think that's any coincidence.
@@benphipps6498 yeah I agree that we look better without Farrell but that doesn’t mean bring Ford back, I think the way forward is Smith 10, Tuilagi (when fit) Lawrence (if Tuilagi injured) at 12 then Slade at 13, with Faz on the bench as cover for 10 and 12
@@Danimal13 it's funny because we're almost having an argument over nothing here (my fault)...I ultimately agree that England should persist with Smith as he has all ingredients to be an absolute world-beater.

Along with Good, Bad, Rugby this has been one of the YT finds for me in 2021. Thanks👍🏉

"Cynical Professionalism" is a nice way of glossing it. ;)
More 'niche' stuff about back row moves etc. please Flats!

So much wasted talent in that Bath side. If it was a footie team the management / coaches would be out by now.
Who expects a 'thank you' for going to watch rugby?
Grow up.

Controversial opinion but I think Farrell at 12 is what stifled Ford at 10 for England.
