Hi Professor I was trying out the the Definition 3.1 Binomial Distribution (n,p) parms and plugging in some values to see how it works and how I might be able to use it. I just don't understand what the parameters should be. Would it be possible to provide an example of how it can be used ? My maths ability is not as good as yours :)
Hi, Darryl! Thank you for your comment. The parameters of the binomial distribution should be n and p. The first is supposed to be the number of trials, while the second is the probability of success in each trial. For instance, if one wished to calculate the probability that there are three heads in a sequence of five tosses, we would use the binomial distribution with n=5, p=1/2, and substitute in the binomial mass to obtain 10/32. I hope you find this useful.
