Now there's someone you need to get on for a future pod - Dave Leach. Another one of those riders who never seem to spring to most minds when people are thinking about great racers but Dave's results at the TT and the other road races speak for themself. Was a regular top competitor at Scarborough, when Scarborough mattered. Would love it if you could get him on.
Thank you - it was so good to listen to Jack's take on the Petronas team and his involvement, I would love to hear more from him about that. It was also great to hear more about Craig and his achievements in his sadly all to short career. I am lucky enough to own a FP1 road bike here in the UK, and i am proud to have it painted in the race livery and wears Craigs numbers and decals with pride. #18
Fantastic podcast Dave. Thank you. Jack V is a legend - we bought him a beer after a WorldSBK round at Miller Motorsports, Utah one year. Good times. Sentiments discussing Craig Jones were class and quite touching. Thank you.
Hi Talking about the Britain motorcycle it would be good if you could interview someone who was involved with it on the IOM TT when it raced there what a bike and a story
Some great stuff again, especially about Foggy Petronas. You need to ask Jack about his prostock drag racing, he was a european champion multiple times.
Great episode. I remember Jonesy and Sykesy running about the paddock on mini bikes at Oulton and they got pulled by Jane . Aww but Jane I am breaking a pair of gloves in he said. Mr Sykes just grinned as did the rest of us 😂
Absolutely brilliant again Dave and crew Jack is a legend been here been there his stories are fascinating don’t think his dog liked you touching his paws🤣think he could still smell Whits dog on you. 🤣👍
Great chat with Jack so much insight and I reckon he could still do it if he wanted but the pressure must be enormous running and working within teams so interesting to watch cheers guys .👌👍
100% agree with your summary of the demise of TT radio commentary. It's like there's only 6 riders involved now where we used to hear about the top 15 plus. Also we now do not get to hear the bikes going through Glen Helen and accelerating out of Ramsey hairpin up towards Waterworks. The other thing I don't like is the emphasis about the lap record. The best way yo win is at the slowest possible pace, even at short circuits, but more so at the TT. Sorry just had to get that off my chest. 😂🏍🏁
Jock, I agree completely with all your points. No question radio and tv comms were absolutely obsessed with lap records last year to the point it was annoying. I don't care about lap records, if they need to be broken to win then fine but as you rightly say, any motorcycle race is about winning in the slowest possible time, minimising risk and coming home safe. Plus to the naked eye there's barely any difference in a 133 lap or a 136 lap.
I love the fact you guys still talk about Craig, top bloke, and a great family.
Thanks Paul, he’ll always be remembered 😊 and yeah, the Jones family are great people 🙏🏼
What a great guy and legend, thanks Jack Valentine.
What a top bloke Jack is and what a great life he has had.
These are my favourites, so much great stuff in Jack's head, I think you've only scratched the surface 😅
What a legend!

Exactly, CM! It’s a tough world to work in and Jack enjoys the quieter side of life with the wonderful Doris 🙂
Top class chap 👍 proper raceing ❤
Great pod and as already alluded too, some interesting historical snippets there. FP workshops were in Burton upon Trent I'm thinking?
Cheers as ever Simon, and yeah they were based at Burton you’re quite right 🙂

Another one of the old school, Dave and doesn’t he look well.
He’s on fine form, Nick - spin classes and golf are keeping him busy 😁
