The moment they allowed ULTIMATUM to happen, killing off the old roster of the Ultimate Marvel Universe, Marvel Comics went on life support.
Then, they allowed the failed DNC operative Nick Spencer to write Steve Rogers Captain America during the 2016 presidential election period, and they remained on life support.
Then, Kelly Sue DeConnic uttered those iconic words "If you don’t like my politics, don't buy my book" and Marvel was too far gone.
This was a stay of execution.
      That stay has now expired.
And best believe that DC Comics will be next.
Marvel Comics and DC Comics allowed the woke mind virus to run rampant. And now that virus has killed the patients.

I don’t think it means Marvel Comics is going away. They’ve lost a ton of money under printing their line plus I imagine there hasn’t been a ton of scrutiny on what each book’s return is. It could mean that we will see less books greenlit and/or books cancelled much quicker than before.
Then again maybe it will close shop eventually and roll up/be farmed out.

It was so ridiculous it was almost a parody but it was offered in all seriousness. I think as a parody of wokeness it would have worked but if there is one group of people that have no sense of humor it is this crowd.

The reason Marvel Comics is failing, but manga and manhwa (Korean comics) are not? Sympathetic characters from sympathetic writers- or lack thereof.
I'm a heterosexual man, but I often read shojo ai and yuri manga (non-explicit and explicit Japanese comics about lesbian relationships, respectively), because I can see the lesbians' struggle to find their place in the world, in my own as a non-white immigrant to the US. Japanese writers refrained from making their protagonists Mary Sue self-inserts who are "Like [them], but absolutely perfect in every way!!!" as the only people who can relate to a self-insert, is the writer who inserted him or herself into the story. Their protagonists do not demand or receive validation in-story or in the real world, e.g., Disney shills FALSELY CLAIMING it was "stunning and brave" to turn a character who was previously and consistently portrayed as heterosexual, into a lesbian- when a manga artist decides to make the cast "more diverse," he or she does it by creating a NEW CHARACTER who happens to be a lesbian, instead of LAZILY swapping a preexisting character's sexual orientation. Their characters have real flaws that are acknowledged and corrected over the course of their character arcs, e.g., Sailor Moon's laziness and poor study habits- something I shared with her when I was in junior high and high school- for which she needed Sailor Mercury's help to correct.
Can any "current year" Marvel employee even match a fraction of the accomplishments Takeuchi Naoko (creator of 'Sailor Moon') made over THIRTY YEARS AGO? Or will they instead waste their and our time FALSELY ACCUSING Takeuchi of being "racist" for not making any black Sailor Senshi- never mind the fact the manga is set in JAPAN, which has very few black people living there- and "sexist" for not making any Sailor Senshi "non-binary" or other IMAGINARY gender?
