Thank you Nick for this wonderful review! Just to clarify a couple of things: I believe Randy sent you them with genuine Grado G-cush, which are his preference. The headphone comes stock with some generic G-cush type pads that I would say split the difference somewhat between the genuine G-cush and the generic L-Cush, both in sound and in comfort. I don't usually package the L-cush as standard as I find them very uncomfortable personally. Some do like them though and if requested I do at the moment have some that I am more than happy to send in the package. Also the felt pads I also package are not for comfort purposes - they are used to tune the sound, somewhat mitigating some treble peakiness, as well as providing some protection for the driver against stray hairs etc!
Chicken dinner! Winner Winner! LOL Another wonderfully analyzed set of cans with a well dipped paintbrush! Your words create a picture in my mind, great job! Thanks
Interesting. Almost polar opposite listening experience compared to the only other review I can find online. That's headphones for ya! The other reviewer stated these were bordering on bass heavy, and that the mids were slightly recessed. Subjective opinion regarding the treble was about the same. Perhaps he was using different pads?
Do you think the Hyland Saturn One have less bass than HD800 / T1.2 / Elear / Clear ... (or if you has some bass comparison with your references it would be excellent, I'm thinking of buying one pair)
