It's because Democrats there don't vote (The Ohio democratic party is absolutely garbage and can't motivatethe people for anything. They truly are terrible). Ohio has around 8 million registered voters. Only about 3.8 million participated yesterday. That's less than half..... There's another 1.5 million or so unregistered voters... Ohio is a purple state. Voting Trump twice doesn't mean anything. A LOT of people here actually supported Bernie Sanders in 2020. But when Democrats pulled their stuff, most of his supporters refused to vote for Biden or supported Trump.

Can you propose the "correct" way to create districts that doesn't benefit one party or ideology above another? "Gerrymandering" has become a meaningless buzzword as it pertains to how most people reference the term. What exactly are "fair" districts?
Here's a simple illustration. A state popular vote is split 60D/40R. Now, if we sorted districts equally, every district would have a 60D/40R split (fair?), but that would result in a 100% D representative positions (fair?). If you want a proportional RESULT (of representatives based on state popular vote), you'll need to GERRYMANDER districts to achieve that goal.
This likely requires creating bizarrely shaped districts that reach into large cities to pull out "wasted" Democrat votes that often get "lost" in having large majority districts of similar minded individuals. So rather than having 80/20 districts where 80% of people support their representative, your goal would produce 60/40 districts where only 60% support their representative in an act to pursue the STATE-WIDE goal of PARTISAN control.
IT'S STRICTLY PARTISAN GERRYMANDERING TO DESIRE A SYSTEM BASED ON PARTISAN ACHIEVEMENT.
Proportional Representation also assumes people want a PARTY to be their representative, rather than the individual candidate they voted for. A single voter of a single district voting for a Democrat candidate who is part of a 60% D popular vote, has voiced nothing about their desire for state-wide representation.

My apologies, my friend. My browser cut off your second paragraph. No, I don't consider you insane, nor do I think reasonable people should. I don't _like_ abortion any more than I like hip replacements. Either is a surgical (or medical) procedure. As a nurse, though, I insist that the decision rests with the patient, and SOLELY with the patient. That's it. The 'when does life start' debate is, to me, irrelevant and depends solely on your own philosophical bent. I think that's an area where we can differentiate between your mission and mine.@@ShepherdMinistry

Part of this confusion stems from the 2011 edition of the NIV, which refers to miscarriage. Pregnancy is not part of the requirement for the ritual. Nor is pregnancy mentioned anywhere in the process. The effects include some type of swelling and/or shriveling. Yet the targeted body part is vague. In fact, it’s the same Hebrew term used to describe the spot where Jacob suffered his infamous injury (Genesis 32:25), as well as the place where Ehud hid his sword (Judges 3:16). At worst, the Numbers 5 passage implies future infertility. The ritual was not a remedy for an unwanted pregnancy-it was a test for adultery. Traditional interpretations of the ritual even restricted it from being performed on pregnant women (Mishnah Sotah 4:3).” -GotQ

Referendums are the best form of democracy as The People vote first hand on issues rather than special interest politicians. This is how it always should be.

I'd happily vote 3 or 4 times a year on issues. In fact I wish We The People could weigh in on most of the decisions our elected public servants try to make.

Human rights should not be referendum issues.
For all other referendums, mandatory education on the facts should be required before eligible voting.
Just my 2 cents worth. I just think it's common sense when running a democracy.

@@daniellamcgee4251 I agree with your (implied) sentiment that human rights should never be infringed upon with legislation. However, “mandatory education” sounds like a horrifying practice. Is it best for people to be informed? Yes. _forcing_ people? No.
