Here’s the thing just because someone doesn’t have kids doesn’t mean they don’t have a life. Randomly dumping kids on op and excluding them from family was a crappy thing to do.

I know this story is fake but I've watched a "friends" 4 kids in a 700 sqft apartment for 2 years because I thought their family was struggling. Then she bought her husband a new car, found out they didn't have to pay rent where they lived and they where actually really well off. Cut that nonsense off as soon as I found out
Responsible one? So I guess it's ok to be responsible to have someone babysit while everyone goes to party on a cruise. What a horrible family. OP did the right thing and made them responsible.

I will never ever understand why these people extort your time for their own affairs. I would start tell the family that you are no longer available for babysitting , or any other family affairs as it is getting in the way of your career. And you career vis more important than anything . I know many kids that are tellIng the family that they can babysit their own children. This is the one thing that breaks up family's so often in the last 20 years, it is time for OP to tell them that she is not longer sacrifice her time and career for someone else's vacation. One thing about this family, they never seemed to get legal authority to have her watch the kid. The parental alienation is unbelievably arrogant
