I am Japanese. I always enjoy having a video. I am studying English to become a hotel man in the future. Your pronunciation of English is easy to hear, it is interesting and I love it so much. Thank you for like Japan, thank you for telling the people of the world about the charm of Japan through movies. If you are interested in Japan please do come and join us! It is a big welcome.
Sharla, I always appreciate your point of view. Your content and approach to youtube comes off as genuine, honest and professional while still keeping your perspective fresh and interesting. The fact that you actually speak Japanese and engage in the culture makes you a really unique and legitimate Japan v-loger. I especially admire how you're always so polite and humble when you travel. You seem to stay true to yourself with what you share and never have click-bate or seem concentrated on creating trending videos. I always know you will have solid content wether its on Sharla in Japan or Sharmander. Loved this video by the way! Hope you have a lovely fall. xo 💕🍂👌
This video was so great!!! I loved seeing all of the beauty of Biwa Lake and all of the food looked delicious omgggggg. I've always wanted to visit Biwa so this was so informative, thanks so much!!
Beautiful the sights and everything really looks so stunning gorgeous! Thanks for always taking us along on your adventures to get a inside look! I'm always looking forward to your videos!
Everything looked so beautiful! And so did you of course in the Kimono. 😊 The mochi looked so delicious! I love matcha flavor so I bet it would be really yummy to try.
I went to Otsu as well, but just for the omi jingu because I loved chihayafuru! It was gorgeous there and I bought some special merch they only sell there. Unfortunately it rained very hard, since I went in the rainy season. Going there was so worth it for the pretty shrine though
Thanks for coming to Shiga! I've seen lots of people say they want to visit now which is great. Anybody planning to come to this area though should definitely go further north too, Hikone (has a famous castle too) and Nagahama etc are really beautiful. I think the lake also tends to look a bit fresher the further north you are too. There's also beaches in the summer and skiing in the winter! Shiga has a lot to offer for everyone :)
sharla, i JUST made wheat gluten vegan "ribs" on the weekend and it was amazing! so its funny seeing them serve you wheat gluten. its a great alternative for fake meats, if ur not gluten free of course lol.
I had never heard of this city before, but now it's on my must-visit list when my husband and I visit Japan! The view from the hotel is to die for! Really excited to see Day 2!
Oh wow, the 12 layered kimono was so pretty and cheap too. I can only imagine how heavy it would have been. But probably super warm in the cold weather.
I've been looking forward to this! I visited Omi Jingu but I had no idea there was a kimono experience on site! And I almost screamed when I saw Chihaya's hakama 😍 Looks like you had an amazing time! I've definitely gotta go back, especially for all that incredible looking food!
I love watching these videos! It's like I can take a virtual trip there and see all the pretty sights and stuff until I have enough money to go there myself one day. I would LOVE to explore Japan someday.
I really appreciate the subtitles Sharla! I saw the Konyaku and thought about the RUclipsr Sushiramen that tried to chop some in half with his hands lol Such a beautiful area can't wait to see more~
My boyfriend is currently in the Shiga Prefecture (Hikone to be exact) studying until late April. I have seen photos before and for the past few years I’ve been wanting to visit not only the Shiga Prefecture, but others as well. It’s so cool seeing a different part of the Prefecture. Great Video Sharla!
OMG! This is the first time I've ever seen someone on RUclips come over here! Come to Shiga again!! Come check out the very underappreciated northwestern bit next time!! :D I have a bunch of beautiful visiting spots to recommend if you ever do! :))
Sharla in Japan oh hello there! I did not expect you to actually reply to my comment. Can't wait for day 2 and see if you visited the places I did while there
Omi Shrine is the sacred place of Karuta, so it is very wonderful to become a princess with twelve pieces of kimono in the picture of Karuta. I was impressed with your behavior and the insight into Japanese culture. .
Otsu is beautiful! I just spent two months abroad in Hikone, which is only a short train ride away! I got the chance to live right on Biwako for more than two months, it was amazing. :)
I have a small fig tree in my kitchen that I'm going to plant next spring. They have always been one of my favorite fruits :) I am glad you liked them too :D

As soon as you said Omi Jingu I was like Chihayafuru! 😍
私も近江に行ったことがあります!琵琶湖が綺麗ですよね☺
Your vlogs are the best :D
that vegetable green thing looks really cool. 12 layers?! o.O
I loove tofu skin I tried it when I was in Nikko and it was amazing 😍😍
