Gil can be so arrogant it’s annoying because I be wanting to hear his opinion but then when he’s like “c’mon”, it’s borderline disrespectful to Magic. Nobody wanted to be a 6’9 point guard fine but Magic was more than that, he’s an unselfish leader, with amazing court vision and basketball IQ. An amazing all around athlete who galvanized an entire era to enjoy/play the game of basketball like it’s never been played before. Give that man his flowers 🌹
I aint mad at what Steph said but all of them in todays Era continuosly state they play Positionless basketball. So if everyone is hybrids in todays game, how can you classify yourself as a point guard. This is just food for thought... Couldnt you say Steph is one of the greatest smaller players in league history. You can also make an argument that Steph entered the league as a point guard but had injuries derailing him. Once the coaches changed the offense for GS, Steph got his injuries more in check, and the offense had Steph and Klay running around picks with Draymond being more of a Point Forward in their free flowing Offense (even though Steph improvised at times), it looked more like 2 Shooting Guards on the court at the same time and a Point Forward with constant movement. Being the best shooter is inherit in the name Shooting Guard. Hypothetically if Jordan and Kobe was on the same team playing exactly like they normally play, And Pippen kept bringing the ball up the court to set up Jordan and Kobe, couldnt there be an argument that 2 shooting guards are on the court at the same time. But Jordan on paper would be the 1 position. But as great as Jordan was, I wouldnt categorize him as a point. Just a thought, But Steph is one of the greatest.
I feel like the statement is self proclaimed but as a pg his accolades are really good, the people should do the talking not the players (MJ never called himself the goat) to my knowledge
"Nobody was trying to be a 6'9 point gaurd" Yes, they were. Magic made the NBA experiment with a lot of bigger taller gaurds for a brief period. It wasn't as successful as when they copied Curry because Magic's game is hard to imitate.
Best point guard- No! Best shooter ever- ABSOLUTELY YES!! Magic is still the best cause of his accolades and his leadership when being able to rally the troops at an ultra high clip.
The point forward position was literally created because of hybrid players like Magic… idk if Gilbert be trolling or just saying random shit. Steph is the goat though
@@The_CTSV The Warriors acquire CP to be a backup for Steph and to lead the 2nd Unit when Steph goes to the bench for. Obviously CP3 isn't the player he once was and he's getting older like the rest of us. The Warriors will most likely utilize him in a sixth man role of the bench or even start him sometimes and put Steph at the 2.
Steph averages 6.5 assists career though, how many assists do you need to be considered a PG? Every assist? Some of the best PGs of all time averaged 6 to 7 assists as well.
Did he really just sit up here and say kids aren’t influenced by Magic… As tho they grew up watching him??? Kids that never seen Lebron before Miami? Kids that never seen a pre-injured Kobe? Kids that never seen Gil play??? Let alone anything else in the 2000s let alone anything in the 80s when magic played. Yes there were kids in that generation influenced by Magic. Magic and bird saved the nba. Big guard like players like Grant Hill, Penny, Steve Smith, Pippen and others that played during the 90s were ALL influenced by Magic.
How many 6’9” guys can handle the rock like Magic? It’s easier to mimic Curry 😂😂😂 that was dumb logic
🎩 🐐 🙏🏾
You are!!
Once the coaches changed the offense for GS, Steph got his injuries more in check, and the offense had Steph and Klay running around picks with Draymond being more of a Point Forward in their free flowing Offense (even though Steph improvised at times), it looked more like
2 Shooting Guards on the court at the same time and a Point Forward with constant movement.
He said yes at first so basically he believes he is the best Pg ever
I feel like the statement is self proclaimed but as a pg his accolades are really good, the people should do the talking not the players (MJ never called himself the goat) to my knowledge
Idk yall. I’m still not convinced that Steph is a point guard. He definitely should be at the 2 lol
Curry is the best. Because how he can play without the ball
"Nobody was trying to be a 6'9 point gaurd" Yes, they were. Magic made the NBA experiment with a lot of bigger taller gaurds for a brief period. It wasn't as successful as when they copied Curry because Magic's game is hard to imitate.
They're both have top 10 offesive peaks
If bron said this lol
The Corny ass media Need to stop this debates, Mini Curry never will surpass Magic, this new players never will surpass Old School players like that
Best point guard- No! Best shooter ever- ABSOLUTELY YES!! Magic is still the best cause of his accolades and his leadership when being able to rally the troops at an ultra high clip.
Curry can do everything that magic does the difference is magic was 6’9 and curry’s 6’2
And he can do way more than just shoot you gotta actually watch the game my guy
@@aaronharper5609 No, the difference is Magic is a real Man/General/Point God. Curry isn't. It goes deeper than the physical aspect, bro.
@@aaronharper5609 Never said Curry couldn't do more, "my guy". I've been watching this game religiously since 94'. I was just stating facts.
Stop trying to limit Steph as a shooter
The point forward position was literally created because of hybrid players like Magic… idk if Gilbert be trolling or just saying random shit. Steph is the goat though
Steph Curry is a SG. PG job is to distribute the ball. Draymond on that team is more PG than Steph is...
He's a PG
@@paulf.84 Why sign CP3 then?
@@The_CTSV The Warriors acquire CP to be a backup for Steph and to lead the 2nd Unit when Steph goes to the bench for. Obviously CP3 isn't the player he once was and he's getting older like the rest of us. The Warriors will most likely utilize him in a sixth man role of the bench or even start him sometimes and put Steph at the 2.
Steph averages 6.5 assists career though, how many assists do you need to be considered a PG? Every assist? Some of the best PGs of all time averaged 6 to 7 assists as well.
@@Godslostone No great PG has averaged 6-7 assist. Good ones but not great.
gil was like "nahhh" steph like c'mon lol
No way not better than zeke,Stockton,cp3,nash kidd, big 0,penny Curry isnt pure pg but still not a top 5 but top 10 for sure
Hell jo
Penny Hardaway erasure talking about nobody wanted to be a 6'9" PG
Magic Played Center and won a ring doing it. I'd also take Isaiah Thomas & AI over Steph. He is the best shooter ever tho, hands down.
Did y’all forget about Kyrie Irving
Seems more like a shooting guard to me
So curry better then Oscar Robinson lol foh stop the 🧢
Ive always watch magic and 80s basketball. But those ymca level skillset hurts my eyes.
I’m not saying Steph is or isn’t the best/greatest. But Magic definitely had impact on play style, kids were on the playground and in tournaments running the fast break dishing no look passed like who???? Magic.
