- As for the last of my TPOT 11 related videos (yeah crazy only 3 TPOT 11 episodes? thats wild!!!!!!!), I'm gonna talk about Four and how I think he's being handled way better in TPOT rather than BFB
I'll also use this video as an experiment, to see how much people can understand my voice without subtitles, so let me know how that goes and if you have feedback on how I can improve my voice to make it sound better!!!

This was a very random video, but I wanted to test more my voice for my pre split ranking video! Hopefully my voice sounds decent enough LOL

He did feel a bit weak this episode. But this Four was far more enjoyable to watch. We don’t really need for him to be redeemed, for a nice host we already have Two so it really isn’t needed.

I feel like it’s because he hasn’t used too much power yet, but if he has Pre-Split-level power, the EXITors are probably cooked

It's just plot induced stupidity so the exitors can escape, but I don't really mind it
Theory: Four's redemption only affect on post split characters because they didnt abandon Four so thats the reason that Four keep attacking tpot contestants and EXITors

That’s my personal headcanon as well. The development could’ve just been that he respects the final 14 + pf, Profily, and the announcer but not anyone else, which would’ve only been revealed once he shows up in TPOT and doesn’t seem to care for those contestants or the exitors as much
That makes lots of sense! I hope they try to make this canon in future episodes because I don't want to hear people complaining about four being overwritten 😭

Four maybe sees eliminated contestants as lesser? Or maybe its that hes very literal, like "eternal" literally being eternal. Maybe this was a planned III type thing if the split didnt happen, with Four not wanting to end the show.
Yeah and another thing I thought of is that Four learned to appreciate *his* contestants. ONLY his contestants. He’s still gonna act like his old self to the TPOT contestants and especially the EXITer’s.

Four DEFINITELY wanted a little more than to host a competition. I mean, 60 contestants all trapped eternally in classes seems like what he wanted aswell. Why does he have so many classes if not to have all the eliminated contestants in there?
Didn't he say that he ran out of room in BFB 18 which is why he made the BRB

My love for pre split four is why i like animatic so much, so i'm glad they're still trying to keep the insane part of him. Because that's what he is. He's weird and insane
Animatic and Four are pretty different though. Four obviously wants control over what matters to him. Animatic, meanwhile, is purely motivated by whatever pops in his twisted mind, mainly what seems to be fun to him. Animatic is much more dangerous than Four because Four has a consistent set of rules to his behavior.

What I’m thinking is that because Four had the whole split thing happen to him, he decided to be somewhat nicer to everyone, more so the people that stayed in BFB to have a better image and maybe get them to prefer him as a host to Two, but with the Exitors he can essentially do whatever he wants to them and is able to be ass cruel as possible to them without getting any major backlash
ooh, that's a really cool way to tie the character disconnections together!

I don't see TPOT 11 as a retcon of Four's post-split stuff honestly. If anything I feel you can interpret it as Four having a certain way of showing how he views others. He grew to care about and actually value the post-split group in BFB because he got attached to them as real friends because of the experience, meanwhile he's still very indifferent or outright bitter towards everyone in TPOT, like when he straight up killed some of them in TPOT 6 without a second thought. The only contestant he seems to geniuenly like outside of the post-splitters is Clock since he spent actual time with him that he enjoyed (even if Clock himself wasn't as thrilled). I think he's always been the same character at his core, its just more of showing how he can be in different circumstances. I imagine he wanted to keep the EXITors locked up because they're the last ones he had in his grasp and he didn't want to let that go. Trust me, I don't like "nice Four" at all, but I think there's an interesting connection to make here.

TRUEEE!!! I think people are forgetting that characters can favor certain people and Four isn't confined to just "be nice to everyone" or "torture everyone"

oh for sure. i’m personally fine with ‘nicer’ four, maybe less crybaby than the original post split ending, but atleast the ending had a theme. still love him when he’s a bit cruel/freakish though, and i think tpot will have a perfect mix of four being insane to the contestants that abandoned him, while also keeping a more normal side (ie clock) it makes them more of a compelling character tbh!! insanity is super fun and all but i still prefer four to animatic bcuz of this!
What if Four wants to be friends with them forever and thats why he didn't want them to leave, remember that he was actually paying attention to Bracelety's "show" (more like Ice Cube ramblings) and he was genuinely enjoying it, and he went along with their shenanigans in that part as if he was trying to bond with them to be the better person or something. The thing is that Four really loves math and algebra so thats probably why Four would want it to be eternal algebra because he enjoys it but he dosen't care that the exitors don't, so he is trying to force them to do it anyways. Lots of people think the algebraliens are Gods of the bfdi universe, and in lots of religions and mythologies Gods want normal people to do certain things and to have a relationship of some sort with them (friendship in this case) but ussually the things the Gods want are not the same as what the mortals want, and the Gods, not careing that it's wrong to force others to do things they don't want to, force them to anyways (some Gods don't do that, but lots do) so I think that's another way to think about it as well. LIke he wants them to be his friends but he also wants them to do exactly what he wants at the same time, without wanting to make compromises himself, but expecting them to do all the compromises ever for him, because he's too idealistic about it. Obviously this is not a good structure for a friendship so of course the exitors wanted to escape since this is quite toxic. I feel like this makes sense when you think about the fact that Four is canonically an alien as well, so either this is fine where he comes from, or this isn't fine where he comes from, but since he's on a different planet and he is more powerful he abuses his power because there's no one to stop him (before you say Two, Two dosen't seem like someone who likes to fight with other algebraliens and neither does Four, since they could have faught eachother already but neither did, and we don't know which one of them is more powerfull but it's safe to assume they are equal, plus lots of people have the mindset that they don't want to genuinely harm their own kind ussually but they wouldn't care if it was an alien, so thats probably Four's mindset as well)
He was also a fan of bfdi originally so it might just be that he likes ice cube as a character.

I think it’s definitely more on the “it’s okay where Four comes from” side of things. All the Algebraliens probably love Maths, so of course Four would expect the EXITors to think the same

Match, in TPOT 11, remembers me of Jessie from Toy Story, when she gets in a sort of box, she starts freaking out and hyperventilating, Match does basically the same thing when she gets trapped somewhere

I’m glad they returned Four back to his Pre BFB self as that’s what I liked about Four in the first place and we don’t really need another nice host since we already have Two
and I think Four only respects the Post Splitters since he stuck with them until the end of the season and showed that they cared about him meanwhile with the TPOT people

Literally the line “6 years isn't that long, it's not eternity” is pretty much an example on how different this Four was from post split lmao I’m honestly all up for this new Four sure it’s kind of jarring to see Four being all sadistic again even after everything that happened in Post Split but hey I’m cool with it if it means we get creepy Four again!

I loved *both* versions of Four. I love how Four can be crazy and destructive, and I don't want Four to be fully redeemed. However, I don't want Four to be a monster to *everyone*.

This is the best TPOT episode imo. Idc if it's not competitive. I want more of this again, but with all the BFDI characters. The way they made Four more crazier than in BFB was cool.
I still hope IDFB happens, because I'm a bit tired of just the same competition stuff.
I'm sure it'll happen after BFDIA concludes.

I think that Four only acts empathetic with the Post Split contestants because of the experiences he had with them while he still acts rude with the Exitors and especially the TPOT contestants

Ngl, the only thing I didn't like about Four in this episode is how he got bodied by the EXITORS. You'd think that a chaotic monster like him that could absolutely pancake the contestants would not get bodied by Bracelety.

I think, for some weird reason, four didn't want to kill them. Throughout the whole episode four doesn't kill anyone, even though he can just recover them. Maybe cuz of bfb 30 or smth

I honestly get what your saying about it being weird that he threw away all his development in the end of bfb but you gotta remember that he only likes the final 14 contestants because everyone else left him so it makes sense why he wasn’t nice to them

I think 4 is better portrayed as a character like Jax from tadc. Four is a loveable goofball who deliberately is a huge jerk but that’s his whole character

TPOT fused Pre and Post-Split Four and made him the best in this episode. It kept him brainlessly toxic but also very persistent.

I'm just gonna say this: Four was redeemed and showed grace to those around him, hence, the Final 15, X, the Announcer, and even Two and Purple Face to an extent because most of these guys tried to show Four that they cared about him. This doesn't apply for those who left him for Two or tried to escape the EXIT again.
Four wasn't weak this episode, his Childish side just got exploited. Hard.

TPOT four is like BFB pre-split four but ANGERY
Even though he wasn’t as fierce as he used to be, he is still miles better here than his whining phase in post split.
I always have seen four with neurodivergent traits, and I feel like this is an example of one. I don’t think Four’s redemption was hit with the retcon since it makes sense for four to be a rule follower. He follows the rules and doesn’t strive too far from them, even when it’s obvious it would be for the better. We see in TPOT 11 that the reason four is distracted is because he wants to prove himself to be a good student, not because he was fooled through ignorance. I think Four’s behavior here lines up because as he says (roughly), they agreed to four’s terms by entering BFB. Four is just enforcing the rules because he loves to follow them. (I hope this makes some sort of sense because this is just how I see it).

I love how 4 still goes along with pencil, david and braceletys idea and not just trashing all the redemption from post split bfb but he still keeps the exitors and supposedly 3 in the exit showing that he can never be fully redeemed
I totally agree that it felt like Four's redemption was retconned (and for the better honestly!) His appearances before TPOT 11 made me somewhat think that (as I originally assumed was a little mistake on behalf of the writing) but it's really evident that they did it on purpose from this episode. It feels like a much more natural progression for the iconic character than what we saw in BFB 30.
Btw I really love this new style of review! I don't watch your videos as often as I used to but hearing your voice instead of just text on a screen makes watching a lot more expressive and enjoyable to watch! (Also you are actually very articulate and easy to understand). Keep up with this kind of content!

Well, I... absolutely disagree. After Four finally realized that he was wrong, the scriptwriters simply reset him to factory settings. No, I believe that all "villains" should be corrected, and it's not worth doing to Four what the scriptwriters did.

It’s my feel like a bit unrelated, but I feel like that Four and Two Are on good terms, because two told Four to not send the EXITors back and he listened and even now that the EXITors are working in the kitchen, four just excepted that idea

Okay but one thing that really bothered me was how bad they NERFED him. Like, no SHOT he couldn't recapture the exitors after FOUR YEARS, I would have expected him to find them in an hour tops, especially since he can apparently FREAKING HEAR EVERYTHING. Also, him getting knocked out in one hit MULTIPLE times is absolute BS. I would have been fine with them getting defeated if somebody had addressed and utilized their apparent weakness to fire, but it ended up just being something that happened and was never talked about.

I think a reason why Four acts different in post-split and in TPOT 11 is because Four actually appreciates the the post-split contestants. Despite everything he’s done and the prospect of a potentially nicer host, they stayed with Four until the end.
While Four actively resents the Exitors because of their multiple attempts at escaping like BFB 16 and when they escaped the room in TPOT 1, Four was outraged and took it out on poor Roboty back in TPOT 9
Oh boy Four is really going to have some real karma for keeping the Exitors for so long for no real reason, I guess aside from taking the “Eternal” in Eternal Algebra Class a bit too literally, as Match has accidentally unleashed likely an even bigger monster.
Despite being the first to enter the EXIT, Pencil somehow kept herself together mentally the whole time

I don't think his redemption was completely removed though, I believe the reason he seemed "weak" this episode is because of restraining himself? He _did_ zap the contestants, but not once did he kill them, which I think was on purpose.
And to why they're still keeping the EXITors in the EXIT at all? We know Four likes to have things _their_ way, getting mad whenever X takes their lines, and other moments like that... So after they decided to make the EXIT all that time ago, they wanted things to stay that way which is why they were so adamant on keeping everyone there. It isn't the full reason,,,but it's hard to know Four's intentions lol

Hmm, you said something about a retcon. Hmm, I got a theory on that! Y’know BFDIA Post-Hiatus? When there’s a voting thing, the audience tends to change the future, and the writing in BFDIA somehow reaches to TPOT.
In BFB 30, Spongy has been eliminated “4” times, and then he’s eliminated in BFDIA. Yes, I’m counting BFB 16, even though the others probably don’t. If you change the past, you change the future, and that exactly what happened to Four. He redeems himself in BFB 30, but then becomes his normal self again, especially in TPOT 11.
All of this has something to do with BFDIA Post-Hiatus, but hey! That’s just a theory, A Theory For Dream Island!!! Feel free to give me feedback or criticism on the retcon theory thing.
It’s like moving a chair, and then boom! Don’t forget BFDIA 8, 10, 11, & 12 and TPOT 9 for the Shadehouse and BBQ Sauce. Now this theory is flawed, so I need a little backup on this one.
I hope the algebrailens are used to their full potential before the seasons over cause I really think this is the best they've all been, and to be honest they won't have use here after the seasons over cause we have a recovery center again (no use for four and x) and two will grant whoever wins with their limitless power (therefore no longer needing them either since theyve done their show) and so they can leave like the announcer did cause that's what the aliens in this series do after hosting you know

While I liked TPOT 11 and even liked Four a lot here, I did kinda hate how they retconned pretty much all of his development. I actually liked him in Post-Split, and now he's back to constant destruction towards everything. It's not enough to make me hate TPOT 11 or even consider it anywhere near the mid episodes, but it is enough to stop me from utterly adoring it.

i was thinking that what he did in BFB 28-30 (e.g becoming the sun) is the reason hes weaker in this episode, since he could've draind his powers but that was 3 years ago so he would definitely have gotten all his strength back from then.
Other than that i really loved this episode. The EXITors are genuinely my favourite characters, and they gave my boy David some character development 🤑🤑
I love TPOT 11 so much. It perfectly captures what made Season 4a so great and changes it enough to be its own thing. I know this sounds weird but for personal reasons that are not BFDI-related I feel nostalgic for pre-split BFB and I can say that TPOT 11 did a good job at... BFB-ing.
I always thought that TPOT four's personality is basically pre and post split personality combined into one!

I just want to say this, but the many medieval themes in the episode implies that either Four is a dnd nerd, or the algebraliens have been around since the dark ages, or they live in a less advanced society unlike the BFDI characters.
The way this episode handled Four was it's saving grace for me, all I can hope is that the show and fandom stop woobifying him after this

I understand the argument of bringing back Four to the days of being a monster, making Four nice DID suck but it's just too late now. After giving Four so much sympathy and making him out to be a misunderstood angel, making him an asshole again just makes him insufferable and makes post split even worse, as the already catastrophic BFB 30 just becomes a waste of time. Look at him complaining about how the contestants treat him badly when he's literally kidnapping like 10 people! Isn't Four such a fun character? /s
Four is an unbearable childish diva and he makes a scene worse whenever he's involved, it doesn't feel like fighting with a cool monster it feels like having to deal with a spoiled toddler
I get it but at least Pre-split four isn’t as insufferable as Post-split.

The reason why Four felt nerfed and made weaker, he used part of his power or something like that. So he didn’t have enough power to take out the EXITors. Now he did use more power on other TPOT episodes.
TPOT 6 and 10 - Mass murdered the TPOT contestants with zappies.
Pre-Split - Killed contestants for no reason, Screeches, is alerted when someone hurts him, starts locking in to his target.
Post-Split: Travels Faster than Light and reaches to becomes the Sun.
His weakness is Fire.
Now since One and Three are here, I hope Four gets buffed with new abilities and tries to think better. Cuz if there’s bigger threats, more power is used.
I predict One and Three hate Four because of XFOHV thinking 13 was unlucky so he dissed em.
But overall in character, he’s actually still my favorite. Four and Two still have beef but I hope later on they will be even.
So yea TPOT 11 is both Outstanding and now Controversial due to some people hating it.

Honestly im still not a fan if how four is pratrayed in this episode because he appears as a lot more of a joke then a threat to the exitors. Honestly I wish this episode four as a lot more of a scary threat and not as much a comdy focused character.
i didn’t like that either. four probably could literally snap his fingers and the exitors would be teleported back to their classroom. i feel like four is restraining himself for some reason, which is probably not what the writer, Sam, was going for.

I just hate that they wasted all this time on Post Split for them to immediately retcon it, ik post split was controversial but it's lazy writing to just forget all his development (coming from someone who absolutely hates Four in Post Split)
Tbf he has no connection to the other contestants in Tpot or E.X.I.T besides the fact that they are violent or scornful towards him.
